Building a big woodwork workbench

  • This is a big workbench I built that I had been thinking about for a few years that was designed for the way I like to work and the size of projects I like to build. The base was made from an old power pole and the top from oak butcher block.

I read somewhere that you started your business and RUclips channel in your garage with Ryobi tools and a cheap camera.
The production value and detail of every video on your channel now nearly rivals the quality of your woodwork. Both are master level.
Just wanted to give you a shout out to say that you and your channel are a huge inspiration to me as I continue to build my own garage workshop, upgrade my tools, hone my craft, and inch closer to living my dream.

Goddamn 🤯, this table will outlast not only you but if you have children, this beast is going to outlast them too.
It a monster of a table that's going to take some strength to move even with the fold down castors 😳🫣. When you had made the base i was thinking holyshit how thick is the top going to be 🤔. That said I have to say, congrats on the build and the quality of your work, it's extremely good and very easy to see that you definitely know what you're doing!!!. As alway's buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

Really did all that to put the crack down the legs on the outside. Tsk tsk tsk. Actually excellent work. All I did today was wake up, watch a video on the RUclips’s and go, “I’ll make one with 2x4s on a smaller scale and put in my shed.” But probably won’t.

Do you work from drawings? I see that your holes always line up. It’s pretty interesting. I can’t count the number of redo’s I had back when I was a metal fabricator. Maybe you edit out the errors, but your projects are pretty cool to watch. I watched a few of your older videos and you do less old school wood joinery in those videos. At what point in your career did you choose to practice or include more old school wood joinery on your builds?
