Richard Gene doesn't just know how to fish. He's a teacher, a good ol' boy, and he is the Bill Dance of RUclips! Wooo,,, wooooooo Go fishin' when ye can!!!! Heyyyyy,, wooooo!!! This world needs more like you hero!!
My 8 year old son loves to fish and he loves watching all of your videos. Thank you for putting all these good family-friendly fishing videos on youtube.
Richard ,watching this video shows why you went to a bigger boat.I too can appreciate all that leg room in your new boat, also seems extremely more stable for this type of fishing.Hope you enjoy many years more fishing in it!
I watch a lot of hunting and fishing on RUclips Richard but you definitely are my Favorite! God bless you and your family thank you very much Richard G
Richard I absolutely love your videos, I watch them daily and they have helped me tremendously in my fishing. I would love to come down to Alabama to watch you wet a line! WOOOO
WWOOOOOOOOOOOO Catfish video baby! That's what I'm talking about. I wait for your uploads feverishly richard! I'm a fishing fiend and I need my richard gene fix
Now the way that first catfish was a crokin’ it reminded me of that party when ol’ Elmo bet some feller he could eat a big German pretzel in under a minute! After about 30 seconds of chawin down that thing, Elmo had started gaspin fer air. It was a dern lucky thing you had that garden hose handy!
I reckon they'll be moving shallow here real soon. They already are upstream but upstream always warms faster. Spawn is coming and fun is to be had. Be sure to release the big ones. Eaters are best under 10 pounds. Thanks so much for taking us along, Richard. I stop what I'm doing and just go when you ask cause I'm smart like that. lol
Growing up in South Florida, I used my share of Ande fishing line, one of the best in my opinion , and yes the Penn reels where great back then , I had lever drag conventional and spinning reels, I still have a 6500 spinning reel , I’ve had it for almost 30 years and it’s still going strong, probably as good as what they are making now. Great video, I don’t know what I’d if I couldn’t watch your videos a couple times a week!God Bless.
Loved the video, I love my crappie fishing but I do love the catfishing to and I'm actually wanting to get my tundra set up to do some river kitty fishing. Love everything you share, this world needs a lot more people like you and can say that it would be a lot better place to live. Hey you have a Blessed Day my friend and do some more videos cause it's gooood for me 😁🎣🎣 God Bless!
God Bless Richard! Looks like a nice Carolina rig you were using, never tried that long leader length, but never tried the deep holes like that neither! I will give that a shot when I get my boat out later. Thanks!
I'm from Indiana, my fishing technique has definitely improved over the course of watching your videos and I catch more fish than I have ever caught, my only problem is trying find them around here close to where I live, always looking forward to seeing your next video, God Bless you Richard and Thanks for all you do
Penn used to make the best reels. I don't know these days with so many brands. That Pink Ande is tough stuff. Many years ago I was fishing on a pier in NC and I hooked about a 15lb Bluefish and it wrapped me around a piling. Usually that's a instant breakoff. Not with that Pink Ande.
I didn’t know the name of the Knotless Knot, but it’s what I use to retie the two and 3-hook crawler harnesses I use for walleye. It’s easy to tie for the distance you want between the hooks. Do the first hook like Gene does here, slide on the next hook, and tie it the same. Slide back on the beads, clevis, and blade, and tie off a loop on the other end. And the Knotless Knot with 10-lb test will hold an 8-pound walleye easily.
“2…. I call them small blues.” “They’re fun fish though….” They’re fun 😉” “Hey im talking bout woo!!!!” RGFM you are a living fishing legend in my eyes!
Hey Richard, just wanted to say I appreciate the videos you do. I was wanting to know what size willow blades I need for my beetle spin lures for crappie and blue gills and where I can find them.
I just got a 2006 Evinrude 40hp tiller steer from the military, and after seeing your boat set up I've been thinking long and hard about selling it. I may buy that same 1650 and set it op for cat-fishing. I currently have a 1436 Jon boat and while I love the big rack on the back it is a bit cramped for the family. About the only thing yours is missing is a Bimini top, but thats merely a personal preferrence. With that big tub of space you got I'd be tempted to put in an arm chair lol.
Love your videos Richard. You the man. I got a homemade anchor for below Guntersville dam that works great. What kind do you use below the dam and up river in the current?
Good morning Richard my name is Rick was after shell cracker yesterday and caught a blue about the size of the first one you got it was at mud creek I got him on a red wiggler lol also caught a flathead on the same bait the gar pike are spawning I had a ball I fish a lot of the same places as you and it would make my day to run into you wooooooo
