    One of my main reasons for looking for something like this is where i live here are mainly dirt roads and the landscape change in a blink of an eye it goes from flat roads to sand dunes so to have a cheap but yet reliable dual sport bike is a must

    I bought my KLX 250slf May 2020 and after 2½ years, 25000km ( 11350 miles) done without any problem... Never had to put any $ except the regular maintenance . Just love to ride this bike. It's fun to drive around through the city as well as the country roads. I haven't done any trail. ( Broke a foot downhill skiing ) I used to have a Kawasaki 1300cc younger but now at 62yo this bike give me a lot of fun; out everyday ....

    I ended up watching the awesome vid over your commentary and had to rewatch it. I must say though, those places look awesome! I live in the tropics and you'll be hard pressed to see open terrain like that. This was and is still my dream motorcycle but sadly could not afford one and got a Honda CRF 150 instead. I discovered this bike from a demonstration by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and figured that if this is good enough for them, it's good enough for me. Awesome vid, not an old guy yet but I don't plan on doing red bull-esque stuff anyway, this bike's for me.

    • @TommyNitro
      @TommyNitro 4 года назад

      @@RWWRENTAL So I've been looking at this more closely. A klx with a 351 would give you a torquier engine than the wr (the KLX stroke is 61 mm which is the same as the DRZ, the WR stroke is only 53.5 mm), though not as much as the drz. But you have the modern suspension, lower center of gravity, and the sixth gear. All for less than the WR or DRZ new. Sort of the best of both worlds.

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 года назад +2

      @@TommyNitro thanks for looking into it man! Yeah that is what I was wondering. I know there are other things to make power to an engine like porting and the cams, compression, fuel air mixture and exhaust exits. I do plan on getting big bore with fuel tuner, more air and headers with pipe. one thing for sure the KLX250 is taking out the oxygen restriction at 14,000 feet elevation.

      so a big bore will just add some slight power...at the end of the day its still a small 250 with sluggish power no matter what you will do. 13k will be fine as long as its not super steep and rocky because you need the power to keep up that momentum. esp with gear coming in at 245lbs. it will be sluggish in those elevations. and if you can try to take backroads vs any streets that is 65 MPH+ in CO. people tent to go way over the speed limit here

      @Johnny Rebellion Mt Antero is 14k when you start peaking and there are a few more and I am not talking about just old mining passes, there are a few trails/ST that reach 14k ft. and tons of passes that are 10k to 12k. not much of a difference 10 to 14 on power difference

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  2 года назад

      its EFI and elevation consumes a lot of power or the proper way to say it is, less Oxygen in the air means, the efi regulates the fuel and air mixture as elevation climbs.....less air to feed the combustion chamber...efi compensates fuel. im not sure why some folks think just because it is EFI does not mean it will maintain its power any elevation you have. efi job is to just get the mixture correct

The good part about Carb is it does give alittle more power, but you can also do mods since there is no eco for fuel and air mix. you can easily open up the box, headers, new pipe, rejet it and it can pull well at 10k ft still vs the efi models. You can do the same with efi, but more money, more problems possibly
