"I've already got (an ace) this season" as a reason for why they let their teammates get kills is the most selfless thing I think I've ever heard a duelist main say ever
I've watched a couple vod on reddit of a S1 Neon main that was literally this Reyna. the mechs gap was unfathomable, but they would shiftwalk everywhere, never use util (or even buy them), were never first on the execute (Phoenix was), and would give up forward positions on defense because they heard people coming instead of just killing them all because they clearly can... Some low elo players literally just need a full hour of motivational soundtrack when they wake up, not coaching!
Dr turnip is almost exactly like my sister in how she’s a phenomenal aimer but is terrified of the game. Just sent her this video, hopefully this can help her out a little bit, thanks Hooj!
Omg I fell in love with Hooj after that intro and yelling at her to Squish them.. I think this is exactly what I needed to here. Subbed and joining the Disc. Hooj take me!
i watched your “it’s ok to be predictable video,” started doing risky tps and playing more aggressively, made valorant tracker turn blue for the first time, was super fun popping off for once
fr, if you're better, you can get away with being predictable i once thought diamonds are really good, but now after i've changed my mindset - they're trash, I'm at least a team mvp almost every game... on a controller
I am rewatching this vod again I like this vibe and how Mr. Banana explained the concept of parallel aiming! Dr.Turnip has so much potential🎉 Tysm to this baby reyna and coach🙏 I enjoyed this vod sm👏
DrTurnip has raised my bar in many ways. 1. Effectively apply knowledge given and remain humble 2. Find someone like her IRL; better than me at a game so I can learn from them and be an experience. And this goes to the boys that can't say it, I'll say it for them: "I may not be a bug, but I'd gladly be squished, DrTurnip ma'am".
I've been watching a lot of your videos, And I play on a set up where my monitor is a tv on the wall and my desk is away from it, I've been hardstuck between Bronze 3 - Silver 2 for quite a while, But your videos have really been helping with the frustration of the new season..!
I think I have some advice for improving aiming performance in low elo, I think you suggested it in some of your vods, or I got it from Dopai on stream, or smth like that. It helped me a tremendous amount in improving my aim and helped me rank up significantly and it's like... Since Valorant has that look where everything is geometrically correct, you always focus on the lines that seem like they are on head level. So, after that, in DM-S or practice of any kind, it comes around and comes you naturally to get that feeling of what a head height is. After focusing on the certain lining on maps.
I once had a friend who had a similar issue and my advice was get in the mindset that you’re a shark and theres blood in the water, they are terrified of you and you’re the predator. So the mental note midround is be the shark.
Climbed to Gold in only 3 episodes, thanks to the Bananas advice. Not having any tactical shooter experience, it was intimidating. But just doing the warmups and being confident helped me alot.
Watching Dr. Turnip play is lowkey exposing me for my bad crosshair placement too Edit: 10:25 did the editor use the beep sound as a scene transition!? Very nice
Those are some of the cleanest kills from one of the nicest Reynas I've ever seen! Slay girl go get them!! (I'm also scared to push but 1. I don't main Reyna and 2. my aim isn't as good, although it's theoretically probably better than most my bronze enemies^^)
Mans put into words exactly my frustrations in Bronze/Silver Elo. I can get duelists who have godly aim, but it doesn't mean anything cuz they sit idle in main too scared to take space. I hope the best for Turnip, and that this video spreads around a bit.
This actually helped me so much. I was hardstuck bronze with 45% hs and I would play aggressively and if the next round starts I start playing really passive because I thought my enemies would be able to predict it by now
aint no bronze get a 2 digit hs% unless its sub 10 kills in the whole match lmao even immortal players hit the body more than the head with vandal and phantom
Dude I'm getting ptsd from the beeps...I have been studying morse code and single letter signals for our prelims and I always had morse code playing on my ears even while I play valorant...Theyre getting in my head man
Just remember guys Valorant is this easy: Walk elbow, knife out, get around here, gun out, A D close to corner, further from corner, aim at head height x2, see an enemy, aim for their head, shoot, kill them, flash forward, swing, find the next guy and squish them, dismiss, push into their window, un-dismiss, swing out, you’re behind them, kill, pop your ultimate, turn around, one more flash, there he is, spray transfer, ace, spray the ground.
Just watching him call her out with the beeper made me realize a big problem in my own aim. I aim way too high at short angles, which is also my worst correcting direction. Watching the video I was thinking "her crosshair is pretty low rn why isn't he beeping? ...wait a second 😬"
got the same problem, i always think i'm too bad to hit shots but i still have 40%hs and could do so much better if i had a better mindset, but i also have that ability wise, gamesense wise, i think i'm too bad to use my skills
Spoiler: ever since this vod review only a single one of her games has she dropped below a 30% headshot rate, across her 6 games this act she has a 39% hs rate. (Which according to tracker is top 0.6% of players)
