This video solved in 5 minutes a problem I have had for years with finger control in french grip: keeping the left stick completely vertical. Thank you, James.

Another great video, the way you described checking your body one section at a time was a way I had never thought of it before. Thanks James!

Hi James, can you please give some tips and advice and exercises to play finger control in German grip? And how can I strengthen my fingers to have a powerful finger control technique. Thank you.

Thanks man.. can you make a video explaining how the finger technique is related to the moeller technique, that is if it is. I never understood it.

Sure, I suggest you to check my videos on the Moeller that you can find on my channel as in there I talk a little bit about that already, but will do one more specific into it in the future as well!

Do you use your wrists with the fingers also , In the French grip ?
Up to certain tempos then just fingers?
Also fun fact I almost cut my left thumb off .. a power saw kicked back and caught my thumb right in the joints.
Now it’s fused straight and 10mm shorter which makes things difficult .
Hopefully I can work around it

I cut my left thumb flexor tendon with a knife and had to get a tendon from my ring finger moved to control the thumb, leaving me with two bum fingers. Also left my thumb very straight, compared to my right thumb which can bend backwards. It is definately a struggle for my already weaker left hand!

Yes, up to a certain tempo I include the wrist too! Let's say that the wrist only is like second gear, wrist+fingers third gear and fingers only is like 4th gear. So you can totally involve the wrist for the French Grip. But if you'll have a hard time with the French because it involves the thumb quite a lot, you can always work in German Grip, which doesn't relate on the thumb so much as the French! :)
