It’s a great feature and often t use it . The One thing i’ve noticed with my Zoe Gt line you mustn’t have climate scheduling on otherwise it doesn’t activate. Once I twigged that issue I found it a blessing
Yes, totally. I did do it once or twice in the summer, but for some reason, I seem to be more likely to forget in the summer - and then regret it, of course!
Nearly? Yes, probably. What's top of your list, would you say? I struggle to decide, although the fact that they are so quiet is very high up there for me
I think it probably does, yes - in most cars. I'm not 100% sure on that, though. However, the ZOE has a fairly low power heater in comparison to some others, so I suspect it won't make much difference to begin with
Not much at all. Usually less than 1% on my car. In the days when cars had 22 kWh batteries, use of this much energy would be a concern - occasionally a major concern. However, it's a bit less of an issue now that we have more charge onboard. When connected to a chargepoint, the car can pull the energy used for preconditioning from the grid, so the answer then becomes none at all. However, I am aware that not everyone can do that every day. My car rarely preconditions using energy from the grid as my chargepoint isn't powered all of the time. Its app does allow me to set it up to do so if I know in advance when I am leaving, but I do not tend to work to a schedule like that. But like I say, the energy used isn't much anyway, especially as ZOEs have heat pumps.
It’s a great benefit on very cold mornings 👍
Indeed - and potentially nice on a hot summer's day. Sadly, I mostly forgot to initiate it during the summer - DOH!
@@theelectrictransition 😂 me too

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the hint!
I really do like your videos keep up the good work
Thank you, much appreciated. It makes that extremely cold morning worthwhile! Brrr
Love my pre-conditioning
Yes, it's such a lovely added benefit. Thanks for the comment
It is also great in summer to cool the car down before you get into it.

It’s nearly the best thing about Evs

@@theelectrictransition saving the world was top. Preconditioning second.
Does the preconditioning warm up the car batter to enable better range?

And how much battery use had you gone thru de-icing your EV Renault
