With a statement like that I seriously question if you have even seen 25 movies. Seriously? OF ALL TIME? Since the dawn of Cinema? Including foreign films???
Here are my ranking of my favourite Nolan movies (Haven't seen Following and Insomnia) 10. TDKR 9. Batman Begins 8. Tenet 7. Oppenheimer 6. TDK 5. Memento 4. Inception 3. Interstellar 2. Dunkirk 1. The Prestige (which is also one of my favourites of all time)
The thing I love about Christopher Nolan movies is the editing, music, sound effects, and audio mixing come together to create a world that just sucks you in. It feels tense, grand, and epic. Sitting in the IMAX theater watching Oppenheimer was absolutely incredible.
A lot of people, including myself, hate the way Nolan decides to mix his audio. It’s honestly a big problem and one of the major complaints people have towards Nolan. But aye maybe he meant for it to click with some people and not others. Respect ur opinion
@dracodaym715 I have a Samsung soundbar and sub and a Blu-Ray player. Nothing souround sound. DTS tends to have a wider dynamic range than Dolby. So I prefer DTS mixes. Christopher Nolan movies tend to have the most bass and he likes to have those unexpected sounds that are loud enough to make you jump. One thing I like in Oppenheimer in the IMAX is that he uses different frequencies of sub bass to vibrate your seat in different ways. It could be a soft rumble, shaking, or violently shaking depending on what works best for the scene. It's a sound effect that effectivity becomes a practical effect and he used it exceedingly well. Maybe that helps explain my biases.
@@thejman3489 ya maybe the at home experience was a bit better. I watched it in IMAX nd the layers of audio were realy muddy. It was hard to hear dialogue at time due to background sounds.
@dracodaym715 Yeah it does get hard to hear dialogue at times during the movie. I think part of that had to do with the IMAX speakers being so loud that the audio tends to mix together. At home it was a bit more clear. But I very much prefer the IMAX experience as you can feel your seat shake and feel the music flow through your body.
IMO Begins should be in the "Great" tier. I haven't seen Tenet but I think BB is a better movie than TDK Rises (with a mostly more enjoyable plot) and a better Batman movie also
I honestly think Oppenheimer is super overrated. The way Nolan decided to tell the story was super convoluted and too fast-paced. This caused me to not really care about the characters since I got no time to connect with them. An example to back up my claim (excuse me if I get something wrong it’s been a while since I watched it) (SPOILERS) would be when Oppenheimer met with his mistress to sleep with her, then found out his wife was pregnant, went to tell the mistress, the mistress ended up killing herself, then the child is already born, all within the span of wt felt like 5 minutes. It felt like the movie was too scared to have any silent moments that lasted over 5 seconds. Just a barrage of dialogue and exposition. I honestly think a lot of people like this movie for the hype, Nolan, cinematography, and the actors. All those things were great about the movie. But the core story telling element which the whole film hinges on is just lackluster. Felt closer to Tenet than to Interstellar imo. I even watched it in IMAX cuz I was so hyped for it but was left disappointed. And just so yall don’t think I don’t like convoluted stories or Nolan, interstellar is one of my fav movies of all time, and I also love inception and memento from Nolan. I would be happy to hear others thoughts on this.
I thought Oppenheimer was really good, but it just didn't get up to great for me. Same goes for Dunkirk, they're both really good but not inventive enough for me to be top tier Nolan. My other biggest complaints with the list is Batman Begins and Tenet are great with Tenet maybe raising to amazing tier. Tenet is just so incredibly creative and different that I love watching it. Then there is Rises, I watched it and really don't care to ever watch it again. It's not great.
sorry bro, but openheimer best Nolan movie? And In my view, rating movies only from 1-5 is not enough to distinct the rates, system of rating from 1-10 in my personal view is much better
Interstellar is the most well told. Oppenheimer is the most well made. Dunkirk is the most rewatchable. Inception is the tackiest. And I was vibing with the period drama in the Prestige until the sci fi plot twist felt like a slap in my face.

Memento is Chris Nolan's best movie. It is lean, brilliant, mind bending, and not three weeks long.
So true
*Oppenheimer is one of top 25 GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME!*

@@falkofscrumI think he meant 250 list on letterboxd as it is on that list with a 4.3 rating out of 5.
@@falkofscrumI'm not mad at that statement. I think you could definitely argue for Oppenheimer being on a list like that.
Inception deserves to be on the top. argue with the wall.
no.

Tenet is misunderstood.
That's true I've watched it four times and I still don't get it.

Dunkirk over Interstellar is crazy mate
Not in a million years is Oppenheimer better than Interstellar, opinions be damned.😄
There is an argument to be made, but interstellar slightly takes it for me
It is tho, Interstellar story gets a bit convoluted. Oppenheimer is his perfection
It is
I definitely think it is and interstellar wouldn't even be second in my opinion.

tdk and interstellar are way better than oppenheimer
No, they are not.

Not for me.
They are definitely really close, all perfect movies in my opinion

TDK no

Denis Villeneuve has been a step above Nolan for the last few years.
Just my opinion.

Cinematography yes. Story telling hell no. Give me the stuff you’re smoking.
he's a great filmmaker, I definitely need to check out more of his stuff
@@ahaviahbessemer9844 🤣🤣🤣 Denis is a superior storyteller. Nolan can never make a matured drama like Incendies.

dunkirk in one of my fav war movie. saw it twice in the theater and man it felt like i was there with them. it was loud and crisp.
