  • Overall a very good build quality, good noise isolation, and very comfortable. Unfortunately they are very mid-centric and do not fit the sound signature I was looking for.
    I have a second channel:

I got a pair of the AM Pro 10 so to test it out I started listening to this review along with my in ears plugged into my ipad playing music and I could still hear the review of the UM using your voice as ambient sound. They work great for a front man who will have to interact with the crowd and still want to keep both in-ears actually in the ears. I got one driver because being the singer I don't really need super amounts of low end. I need to hear vocals.

The thing on the Y split area that rides on the cable is aimed towards musicians. Basically musicians wear monitors with the cable behind them going down their back. They pull the part up to the back of their head. This just makes the monitors stay in place better than how they would without doing that. But what you say is very true, I only see a hand full of people use that feature as it doesn't seem too practical.

Dude I've use these for all of my gigging and they do a great job, straight out of the box they are very high mid-centric and I came across that issue as well however after speaking to several engineers I gathered that most in ear monitors are designed to be flat in this way. Once you EQ scoop the high/mid frequency range you'll find that they actually sound brilliant! Even custom ACS in ears that I have used have this sound signature, just get the engineer your working with to 'EQ it out' or do it yourself. Hope this helps! I also got hold of some ambient mics that I run into my ears for live use which really make a difference.

They fell apart within the first week of using them, casing split into 2 parts.

My Shure SE 215's sound great top to bottom. The base is good on my IEMs.

EQ has its limits. It tweaks the goal of performance, not the performance itself. These are their lower entry level stuff with less drivers and a mid-limited performance, similar to the Sure 215 se.

I have a pair of the um pro 20's that I got for $160. At that price, I think these are really awesome. To me, the bass is really nice. punchy and controlled at just the right amount. And they fit me incredibly well, they just block out the entire world. Perhaps having dual drivers fixes some of that bass response issue.

So when wearing these on stage you would run these down the back of your shirt and that's where that piece that moves come in you move it up towards the back of your head and it keeps the Headphones from moving around too much or coming out real easy

What did you end up getting? I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on these to use as stage monitors doing metal, my second choice being the Audio-Technica ATH-E40. Build quality and sound is what I'm after. Good review. Thanks for that.

MMCX is the connector type, "micro-miniature coaxial".

Mark, have you been able to return the product?
I'm very disappointed too, but Guitar Center doesn't accept returns on these type of products...so was wondering if you had a solution. Thanks!

They'll return if you haven't opened the box (for sanitary reasons...) Your best bet is to sell them used - like new on Ebay

I like your videos but if you did an AB comparison it would have been an hour long. :P

Are you comparing these to the 'igies' or what? You appear to be continually referring to the other IEM. You are not to-the-point. However I am considering buying these at a Manufac. Discontinued Discount. So, your review is very helpful. Thanks.

Has anybody experienced latency with these IEM? I keep getting complaints from my band members, they say I'm playing with a bit of a delay, any advise ??

Hey... this isn't Squid/SquidGuard !?! haha (still waiting for in-depth video).
Now to earbud, my issues with braided type of wire for me is... noise transfer via wire... like when it is rubbing on your clothing and such.

How do they compare to the Mee Audio m6 pro, brainwavz m1, hifiman etc?

Melissa Elliott these are better than all of them but be warned when considering these. I read somewhere that they sounded quite lifeless. I suggest getting the shure se215 instead.

m6 pro has piercing high and lacks low so much..may be good if you are onstage vocalist though.

These are pretty bad. Get the UM PRO 30s instead. So much better, it isn't funny and a proper in ear from Westone.
