Somehow I falled in love whit Wild's Rachmaninoff. The rhapsody, the concertos...how great when such talented pianist are accompanied by such great orchestra's directed by such great conductors!

My fave Paganini Rhapsody. And not a Chandos recording, either (praise de Lawd)--it was part of a massive recording project Readers Digest undertook with Wild, Horenstein and several other top conductors in the early 60's utilizing (as I recall) RCA's best European engineering. Some of the best sound ever waxed, and to my mind Wild equalled Horowitz with Da Rach.

Earl Wild is magnificent. I have the Readers Digest vinyl records. I ordered them via the mail in 1972 and was amazed at the wonderful music the 8 record set contained.
Beethoven, Mozart, Debussy, Bach, Brahms, Chopin, etc. I still liked the Moody Blues, Led Zeplin, and other bands but this set has special music.

Dakota LEW, yes. I had a Readers Digest cassette tape of Schubert's 2nd symphony, and it was better than any other performance I have heard. I need to look for it on cd.

Yes. The sound is captured with full reverb and there is a pleasant and meaty texture to it.
