*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

The song mostly makes fun of the american culture, how americans love their country so much that they tend to overlook it's flaws.
Also the ambition to decide the fate of the world.
America may have been preasured into the position of the world police after WW2 but they felt way to comfy in that position. Since then, America has dictated to the world what to do and most countries obeyed, out of fear or out of need. The times of the big respect towards the american way of life has ended quiet a while ago, probably since the internet got so popular and everyone around the world had the chance to see not only the great sides of the united states but also their flaws and the world decided many of these flaws are way to heavy to outweight the positive sides.
Globaly, if it is spoken out or not, many countries see the US more of a dominant overlord that preasures nations into consent or submission than as a trusty allie.
Talking about the U.S. Politics here, NOT the people!

Rammstein talks a lot about important issues around the world. Their lyrics are oftentimes very meaningful even if they might seem silly at first. What I love most about Rammstein is that they are not germany biased at all. You should react to the song Deutschland (Germany) next to understand what I'm talking about. The song is fantastic and the lyrics as well as symbolism of the video is done perfectly.

Oh great! I loooove Rammstein!! I'm actually wearing a Rammstein shirt while writing this🤣 I've been a fan since their debut album and i've seen them live, from the first row, every time they have been in my city. It would be awesome if you go down their "rabbit hole" 😉 Some things that you probably have to consider about this band first, are that musically, they are not super "complex" but their sound is absolutely unique, very heavy, super loud, consistent through the years and "loyal" to their own thing as a band, maybe is because they never had a line up change ever. They have their own personality musically and i love that. Another thing is their humor, very dark and sarcastic, also their lyrics are often about gruesome, aspects of the human behaviour, sometimes based in real events, other times making social and political criticism using their sense of humor and other times about the dark side of different types of love, relationships and emotions. Till Lindemann uses a poetic language in his lyrics, often using words in German that are not used normally in a conversation.
Lastly: Their music videos are super well produced, cinematic and used, fully, as an audiovisual resource to tell a story, and their LIVE PERFORMANCES are Spectacular and Epic! Lots of Theatrics, sometimes role playing and ALWAYS custom Pyrotechnics. 🔥🎉
Here are SOME of their greatest songs in my opinion, that you can find on youtube, you can see i included in parentheses if you should watch the music video or live performance as a recommendation 😉
"Du riechst so gut"(1998 music video, or Live ) "Mein Herz brennt" (music video) "Ich tu dir weh" (music video) "Mein Teil" (music video or live, both are awesome) "Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen" (live in Paris) "Deutschland" (music video), "Radio" (music video), "Engel" (music video or live), "Ich Will" (music video), "Feuer frei!" (Live), "Mutter" (live in Paris) "Links 234" (live in Paris), Sonne (music video or live), "Keine Lust" (music video), "Mann gegen Mann" (music video), "Rosenrot" (music video), "Ohne dich" (music video) "Ausländer" (music video), "Adios" (audio), "Sehnsucht" (audio or live Berlin '98), "Weisses Fleisch" (live), "Rammlied" (live Madison Square Garden), "Mehr" (audio), "Morgenstern" (audio), "Spring" (audio), "Zerstören" (audio)
Also, i know you already heard "Du hast", but i strongly recommend that you watch their Live in Paris version!!! 🎉🔥

As for how they get their guitar sound, the answer is as simple as it's fascinating: up to 20 takes of the same riff layered on top of each other for each guitar. That way they eliminate every possible way of how a specific take can be a little too loud or quiet in one place or have too much high frequencies for some notes here and there. They just throw a buttload of guitar tracks together and by doing so get this consistently full, heavy, amazing and driving sound by making the guitar cancel out its own impurities. It's a ton of work because each track on itself has to be played pretty much perfectly, so they go into the studio, play the same riff 50+ times, discard all but the most perfect recordings and then throw them into the mix. But as you can hear, it definitely pays off.

If you really wanna try some more artist and bands from different countries and languages I would really recommend a band called One ok rock from Japan, I love how well they seamlessly blend Japanese and English in their songs. The beginning, clock strikes, be the light and deeper deeper is a good place to start and see if you like them. All the songs have videos, but I would recommend their live performances from Yokohama Stadium.
Then we have a sibling duo from Korea called Akdong Musician or AKMU. Their simple yet complex songs together with beautiful voices is what hocked me. 200%, Give love, how people move and melted is a good start for them. Hope you'll react to and like my recommendations. ☺😁

3:42 Die Musik spielt im weißen Haus (Musik comes from the white house) is an adage. The non-literal translation would be something like: "This is where the action is"

With the music lyrics - It's not only about Hollywood and the Music industry - In German the saying "The Boss decide what music is played" and this also in politics. Here it could be a reference that a Country that is not "dancing" by the music "The Boss" aka the President is playing gets in trouble (a visit by the 7th fleet ans some navy seals).

For me as a german, it is really interesting to see people from other countries react to german music.(especially the provocative kind)
Btw. no american should feel offended as a person by this, they don't just criticize other countries, try the song "Deutschland", they are pretty harsh with their own homeland as well, as they should be.
Overly glorifying a country or person is not wise.... you gotta see the flaws and mistakes of the present and the past to change and become better as a person, as a country, as humanity.

My wife and I would love a reaction to Ich Tu Dir Weh, live from Madsion Square Garden. This is my a lesser know song by them but is one of their best songs in our opinion. It has these guitars that will just cause you to get a speeding ticket if listening to it while driving. It's heavy, yet melodic, yet very industrial.
Another song you might like is Mein Teil, live from Hurricane Festival. The live performance of a lifetime on that one. And if you have a strong stomach and a tolerance for shitty quality then I'd recommend Buck Dich, live from Montreal (the longer version).
Their live content is usually even better than the studio content.
Thank you for a great channel and we hope you can check out at least Ich Tu Dir Weh.

Booyakasha! Respect to all off you!
Lindemann & Co. where born in da GDR, a place where West-Germany and the USA in particular where the "Klassenfeind" (class enemy, the enemey of the working class) the Imperialists. In an interview he told about the hate and love he had towards the US. The land of capitalism the county of significant inequality (the black poor for example) and on the otherhand beeing the country of personal freedom, free speech. A country where everything is availiable aplenty, quite different to the time in the GDR. The US with alotta achievements like nuclear bomb, da flight to da moon and other technological stuff. Hate-Love is da key!
"Vor Paris steht Micki-Mouse" sounds like a war report with an army close to Paris, Hanoi or Stalingrad...
Together with "Deutschland", "America" is truly a masterpiece of art! It deals with our ambivalent feeling!

For better understanding of the this Song and as an example why some people in europe have a negative look at americans, I'm German and know 90% of the states in America, Most americans know not one Country in europe exactly. Or the Reaction Channels, mostly If they react to an european Band its like this: Oh, its sounds like (insert an American band). Many americans do not know (and dont wanna know) what happens outside the USA. So many people thinking, that Americans are ignorant, arrogant and allways joking about other cultures. In Germany we have a saying: you act like an elephant in a porcelain Shop. Thats what many people thinks about americans. Sorry for my bad english, i only learned IT a the regular school, greetings from Germany.
