Thank you for teaching me this lick! I play it a little different by sliding from the 9th fret e-string to the 10th fret, and back to the 9th fret, all with my 3rd finger.
It's the "feel" that counts with Albert King - the tone and emotion of what he plays. He tunes down and was left-handed - tough to imitate. I plan on learning his style eventually so I can at least understand what he was doing. Have you listened to his earlier recordings? "Traveling to California" LP is one of the all-time underappreciated blues LPS - have it on vinyl. Check it out if you can.
@@anotherbahamianguitarplayer Okay then, let's hear you (or anyone else out there) play his stuff - and sound good doing it. You are not getting it. But, that's your right to not get it. I don't get lots of things in this world. But, trust me, you are missing out.
I played with Jody. He played in Open E. He taught Bo Didley how to play guitar and gave him the signature shimmering guitar sound. RIP.
You have it reversed. It was Bo Diddley who taught Williams how to play the guitar. At the time, Williams was an harmonica player.
Glad to see you're back!
Thanks!
Welcome back! Thanks for the lesson!

I have no idea exactly how he played this - so anything that sounds good works IMO.
Great lick...I gotta to practice to stretch over 4 frets...😬. Thanks for sharing! 🎵🎵🎵
Great lick thanks
Love these videos. Can you do a Lesson on Robert Lockwood’s, in the evening?
I'll give it a listen. I love Lockwood, but some of his stuff is really "out there" - especially what he recorded later in his life.
I believe Jody played in open E tuning
cool beans
Why do all Albert king solos sound the same and plays the same lick in all he's songs
