A beer tutorial (specifically aimed at getting the foam to rise up and fill up the glass) would be amazing :) Any updates on when new tutorials could be expected, if any at all are even in the pipeline? :) Thanks so much for all the help so far! Amazing stuff!
I just purchased Flip fluids for Blender. I have been using Bifrost for Maya for some time. First of all, I like the simplicity of the tool, congratulations. Simulations are solid, cache is responding very well and the process is overall stable. Although I'm just landing, my feelings are positive. My aesthetic complaint, although I still have to go through most of the settings: just looking at your animation, this video, from the top: why is the foam making so many spirals and loops? for example at 14:00 you can see many of them happening. Can this effect be mitigated somehow?
Question: when setting up a Flip Fluids 'Domain' with a 'Fluid' box in it to act as an ocean and an 'Obstacle' (a boat). I animate the boat and render at 65 - It works I render the same scene at 150, and the 'Fluid' ocean has now shifted way up over the boar "Obstacle', I then must re-locate the Obstacle and render again. But have to move the Obstacle at each new render setting How do you fix this issue?
Is there any clever way how to apply motion blur for just the foam while rendering? it would be such a game changer since you will not be able to see individual particles.
Hi Fajarunn - that is possible! You just need to click the initialize motion blur button in the helper addon. This will prepare geometry nodes and activate our attribute system for motion blur. Important is to do it before baking. Then you will find a modifier on each object (foam, spray, bubbles, dust, surface) where you can set the strength for rendering. Hint: motion blur is not visible in the viewport. Just in the final rendering.
Hello, your software is very impressive, in fact, it's the reason I use Blender. However, when I conduct simulations with Blender+Flip Fluids and then transfer them to Cinema 4D as Alembic, I face an issue. Particles like foam and spray do not align in timing with the fluid mesh. Everything looks fine when I watch it in Blender, but as soon as I import it into Cinema 4D as Alembic, their timings and coordinates seem to shift. Could you please help?
We sent an answer per email. Please check if your FPS setting are the same. Unfortunately in some cases alembic export from blender can be not 100percent compatible with other 3d packages. Let us know if there are more questions
hi, thanx for response @@FLIPFluids i sent yesterday i guess. but i started from scratch. Can i export alembic and foam, spray. i searched but i found nothing.

@@FLIPFluids nah its probably my corrupted scene. Because Ive been switching from 3.6 to 4.0 but in a new project particles work well. Its just in this project because it got corrupted. I will try to import the different elements and try again.
Sorry. another question....I've been searching for but didn't find nothing.....is there the possibility of using permeability in obstacles? or will it be implemented? Thanksssssss
Is there a way to render it in eevee or is it only supported for cycles? (I render in eevee because it is faster and simpler, but it crashes a lot on a single frame)
Thanks for these videos!!! I would like to ask what kind of equipment is needed for the computer equipment? Because I did not perform the preview as smoothly as you my computer : CPU: I7-6700 GPU:GTX1070 RAM:32GB
All white water particles are icospheres. If this is visible they maybe need to be scaled down a bit. Also make sure, that a shader is applied. The addon does not do this automatically. If both is checked, and a rendered still looks wrong you can send us your blend file and we take a look into this.
Please help! I generated several types of whitewalker particles, and I see them as gizmos in overlay, but I can't see them in render or as amesh and it doesn't matter what scale I use or which material I assign for them:( Any ideas?
@@FLIPFluids Hello, Í extremely appreciate such a respond from the devs! However, I've solved the problem by making sure the baking process finishes, because I had it paused and it feels like particles don't appear mid-render:)
Got a "problem". I just got your add-on, it's great!! However, changing the offset and dept in Particle settings don't change the foam position in the viewport, even restarting the playback or refreshing the frame. Anyone got a suggestion? I'm in Blender 3.3, thank you! :)
Thank you for your message! This settings need to be changes before baking. To change particle position after baking you can use Blender´s "delta-transform" (not part of the addon) to move particles. The depth cannot be changed after baking. Hope this helps :)
@@FLIPFluids Beach waves should be a good starting point I think. Also it'll be great if you could tell more about preferred domain size, how whitewater and fluid surface(waves) depend on it's size. During testing real world domain sizes, about 200m I found that addon behaves incorrectly and gives weird results for the fluid surface as well as whitewater.
@@FLIPFluids It's not your fault. I start learning FLIP Fluids from "The Complete Guide" insteed of "Creative Learning Series". Hey thanks so much for these videos... Do you know if its possible to make particles smaller as they get closer to the camera?? I've tried with a driver on an icosphere instacer.....but it didn't work for me.... thank you!
I´ve never tryed that. Hopefully we will be more flexible when particle-nodes are out (coming in future blender versions). Using them we will be able to do more creative things.

That rising foam is not possible actually. You will need to fake it in any way. However, this is something we wrote to our feature-request-list.
Apart from that I am about to purchase your addon I must say that I really like the enthousiasm in your voice! :-)))
This guys accent is perfect!
GREAT TUTORIAL THANKS AND HELLO! FROM INDIA
Yes thank you! Can you please make one for liquid shaders? Should be quick right
Thank à lot. Could explain the foam material used in final vidéo?
Cheers
What exact do you need to know? You can use the premade foam shader that is already there with the addon.

D u think bifrost is better than blender sims
@@aryaman3083 bifrost is good but unstable and difficult to control, IMHO.
You could try to change the Advection Strength.
Find it in Whitewater > Particle Settings.
Decreasing will result in more spreading ww-particles.
Is there/ will there be a way to make foam rise and take up space from movement and fall when calm like foam acts on beer?
Not yet. This needs to be faked.
Can you make tutorial on chocolate pouring?
