Hope she continues to add more topspin. She still tends to go flat when trying to hit hard as you can see in the early game when she had break points but hit too deep a few times on her FH.
Looks like Patrick is trying to change Osaka's forehand. Her serve is good, her backhand too. however, her forehand was better by the end of the season. The change that Patrick made on her forehand seems to destabilize her and is not natural. Also, its movement from one side to the other is not optimal yet. lots of work to do.
Is it lack of focus? Naomi hits some wild forehand shots that miss by miles even when not pressured. 4:50 is an example. Opponent no where close and the ball doesn't even land 5 feet beyond the baseline. Granted it was a defensive slice by her opponent back to Naomi but that was still wild. You don't typically see an unforced error like that from the top pros on a slightly neutral rally ball.
her opponent was ranked number 400 something , she should have beat her 2 and 0. Movement looks decent, serve is clicking very nicely but those ground strokes and anything defensive is just not looking good.
Bruh rankings are not always accurate in terms of consistent performance. Grabher was hitting shots like a top 50 player, she played well imo and would’ve been a challenge to any player
She may be ranked outside of the top 100 on paper but she played like a top 20 player against Osaka. Everyone is much more inspired when they play someone who's won a grand slam.
Grabher is ranked 470 but got into the Classic with a protected ranking of 73 after missing six months in 2023 due to a wrist injury. She was ranked 54 before that, so she’s clearly a strong player👍
We all know tennis is not about ranking when playing, however it about to has the better game…we have seen world number being bitten by lower ranking players
Mental health illness is real. Not sure if Naomi will ever make it back to the top and win GS again, after taking time out to have a baby, when she was at the top of her game. Just don’t see it at all.
Happy Naomi won this match, but Grabher certainly gave her a fight. Her serve was the strongest part of her game...those aces!
Sacré joueuse Osaka 🎾💙👌 j adore
I love watching Osaka, she's a great player and a great human being!
Naomi is averaging 60 plus first serve compared to last year's average of 50. Improving
2024 Osaka I think this would have gone 3 sets, opponent played well. Osaka movement is improved.
This match was a lot harder for Naomi than the first one.I'm proud that she managed another straight sets win
Osaka melhorou sua forma física. Tá fininha e se movimentando bem... bom jogo.
Good stuff from Osaka. Grabher was playing at a high level too; much better player than her ranking suggests.
I love Naomi’s smile.
Osaka still has her weapons but needs to concentrate on the easier points and not go daydreaming. She is a force once again. Looking promising 👌
😢😢😢😅😂❤😮❤😮😢
@dquarks
u arm chair tennis players
r ridiculous 🤮🤮
Naomi forehand change like patrick did to serena. Added more topspin
although true, it’s such a simple thing that almost all WTA players would benefit from.
Hope she continues to add more topspin. She still tends to go flat when trying to hit hard as you can see in the early game when she had break points but hit too deep a few times on her FH.
niomi moving well i love that
Do it Naomi. Work your Magic! 💫💫💛🌟
Results are showing naomi dont quit just yet

lots of work to do.
@Hossay5, why do you keep saying “his” when referring to Osaka fore hand? Either this is on purpose or you have ADD.
@@donyutejamaica631English may not be their first language. I have students that do this who have not yet mastered the language.
Sorry, my first language is french !
I will correct this.
Naomi is still far bellow her in form level, it is good she won and goes further, this is exactly what she needs to improve
does the commentator know what an ace is???
Naomi is quicker now..
but still not a defensive player.
With her firepower I would think she would hit more returns that put the server on defense.
you farm is so diverse ❤❤
Nice match. Osaka's court movements still needs work
This woman commentator does not know what an ace is!
Madam, Ace is when u cannot hit the ball at all i.e. ball does not touch your racquet, a complete miss or you're unable to get to the service
😂😂😂😂
Naomi still making the same weird errors tho. Gotta clean that up. This match had no biz being this close.

Small cages for such big rabbits....: - /

Ugly highlights.....easy errors...
Why you lock animals in a cage?
Eat them soon lol😢

@Nambonomonjai ah, I thought she may have been a wild card or something, thank you for the background info! Puts it in a different perspective.

There's no reason she couldn't
Just because you don’t see it….doesn’t mean it won’t happen
Godzilla Magilla vs Julia Grabher !!!
