    I have the portable one like you from Verizon. It works for me when I have to work while camping. Gonna look into that new device you have for sure. Thanks for sharing!!

      Yeah, we always try to have 2 options if possible, 1 being a some sort of hotspot for backup.

    Same as part-timers we have FirstNet cell service at home and if we use anything at the campground we have to take it with us and the two guys here at home have nothing but cell phone. We travel midwest and I do Grain Bin safety/rescue training for farmers, and Fire Depts., so there is some work online and surfing and tv streaming is the bulk of our use. Thanks for the information

      So far T-Mobile has been good. I like that they don’t have a contract either. If they get weird on us I can just do something else. That’s awesome that you do grain bin safety training. Growing up on a farm and being around those things as much as I was I can appreciate your work. That sticker inside the door showing someone suffocating is forever buried in my mind. Jarrett

    I agree with the T-Mobile bandwidth when you have service. Unfortunately- I must camp in lots of places that T-Mobile just doesn’t work.I loved them out West, but it has failed me to often in in the southeast, I wish my luck was better on that.
    I have an ATT & Verizon Hotspot and just bought V3 Starlink for the “remote” locations we visit. I do not pole mount it on the rig but we have a small tripod to move it around works great can turn it off- it is a front end expense. Then turn off when you’re not using it. I work remotely and video conference routinely so I have a more defined need. It’s the cost of doing business for me.

      The cost of doing business for sure. Gotta do what works! The tripod sounds like a good option.

    I appreciate this. I've been running in to this problem at the campgrounds. My phone hotspot just ends up pissing me off. 😅

      Lol glad to know it’s somewhat helpful! For part-timing, seems to be a good solution for us.

    The T-Mobile home base was what we were looking at also, but we have heard (last few weeks) it is going to $160ish for roaming out of home area. Have you lost the $50 plan yet? 👍

      Yeah we attempted to kind of update the video in the description box by just noting there’s a new option now for travelers. We just used ours again last weekend (before it went into effect) and it all still worked just fine at a local campground. We’ll most likely be switching to that new plan, we figured it was coming eventually anyway. (The price increase for a better travel option) but we haven’t signed up just yet. Did notice it seems Starlink dropped their equipment fee (maybe to compete) but we’re still not sold yet on Starlink for part-time use in the south East part of the country where there are trees galore. Not sure yet which route we may take. Looking at more options soon.

      @@OurNextAdventurejvh yep Starlink doesn’t do it for Part-Time, but with the change in T-Mobile price and Starlink refurbished sale… maybe. 👍

    I have read that T-Mobile is saying officially that this device "isn't for on to go Internet" and they require the user to call T-Mobile before moving. Have you had any issues with connections yet?

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  6 месяцев назад

      Haven’t been told or read that you can’t use it away from the home temporarily. We’ve only used it close to home so far, so we haven’t had trouble at further weekend destinations. But we do have the hotspot for backup. Their site does say to inform them of a move, which we assume means a permanent change of address, to see if they provide service for that new address. And if so, you can simply hook it right up. So for now, it seems to be a great weekender solution if not going incredibly far away and there’s T-Mobile service in the area you’re traveling to. Hope that’s helpful.
      If anything changes with our experiences with it, we’ll do an update video.

      Actually, now that we think of it, we used it in FL at Camp Margaritaville. Worked just fine that week!
