It's a test! I did my standard length review, but then filmed an all-new one that's half as long here: ruclips.net/video/ucTZ95dBfCw/видео.html Let me know your thoughts.
After watching the short then the long, I preferred the long one. The short one was fine, but I am definitely interested enough in the sets to watch the longer versions, so I prefer those.
The transition from 6-wide to 8-wide Speed Champions will go down as a revolutionary moment in Lego's history. It's given us some of THE best and most innovative building techniques of all time, it's resulted in a slew of new parts moulds, and very interesting collaborations with different brands. I can't wait to see what else the Speed Champions team gives us next. Absolutely phenomenal theme, #1 for me, followed by Friends and Monkie Kid.
The decision made me understand the point of Speed Champions as a concept. Before, they looked like caricatured versions of what the vehicle was supposed to be. Now they look so much better, and so much more like collectible models. The argument that the 6-wide ones fit better in LEGO city layouts never held much water for me as the aesthetic was completely different anyway.
Saw him in a stream applying them with an xacto blade and it was a game changer. So much better than I’ve been able to do without tools. Simple solution, just never occurred to me!
The curves on both cars are insane. Lego is really setting the bar higher and higher for future projects. Soon we're gonna have 800 piece sets for just one car lol
wow wow wow. Absolutely exquisite designs, Speed Champions continues to impress and blow me away. This set has me seriously tempted even though I don't care one bit for the source material.
Its so true that we get spoiled with building techniques … after a while you get used to it, but funnily enough there is always that ONE THING they manage to get in there where you go: woah that was creative! I remember buying my first ever speed champion set and being Blown away with how it was built. Now I have way too many lego Cars… like I literally have No idea where to put them all…
I suspect that some designers have sold their souls to the red guy with the horns and got speed champion designs in return. Either that or they are just brilliant
I keep wanting Lego to bring back one of my favourite lines of the early 90s - Model Team, where they made there most realistic sets that they could at that time. I now see that they don't need to bring it back - because they are producing hyper-realistic sets at the smallest scale possible - without needing to go supersize anymore. That truck honestly give me that old Model-Team feeling, which makes me want Lego to perhaps now branch out from cars exclusively in the Speed Champions line - and make hyper-realistic boats/helicopters/light aircraft at this scale too now, just like Model Team did.
East Europe here. The G wagon is an iconic mafia mobster car from the 90s. Its iconic, with the black color it represents the menace of a car very well. Funny trivia: once I spoke to a mercedes car dealer asking why the doors slam like on an old Lada considering this is a 100k € vehicle. He goes, mercedes decided to keep this “feature” also on the exclusive premium models so that 90s era mafia members can enjoy the nostalgia😂
I just watched the shorter video. I personally like the longer videos, your videos have always had a certain charm to them where you feel very relaxed and calm. You get your ideas out, the flow is right, and I personally like the longer videos. That being said I understand if you stick with the short form because they are quicker
Great review! I’m not really interested in cars but these look so cool and satisfying as Lego, I would love to build them. I quite like the “standard lenght” review, the details make me happy :)
I wasn’t planning on getting this set but after seeing them in motion here, you’ve sold me on it. It looks ALOT better than the promotional pictures made it seem.
Phenomenal set. One of the few 2 packs which I feel subjectively is worth buying for both vehicles. Really love to see more variety, and hope to see more SUV styled builds in the theme.
I definitely want both of them but I'm starting to resent the prices here in Europe as I'm a starwars fan and just paid 60 for a minifig batmobile, some just feel punishing. Perhaps I'll wait and see if it goes for under 50. It looks like a great set, thanks for another excellent review.
My only problem is that the rear of the SL63 is one stud too long IMO. Good set overall. All UK double-pack sets are £45 whereas as all single-packs are £21 so we actually pay more for a double pack than buying two individuals sets by a few pounds which is kind of annoying considering the US price.
Ive got no love for mercedes vehcles in general but that being said this is an incredible set. Price: absolute steal Accuracy: very similar to source material Comparison: fits perfectly in with the rest of the 8 wide speed champions line up
Excellent, as always, in depth review. I like these longer reviews, so for me there's no need to watch one half the length. I bought this and the other 2 pack, and was shocked at how much larger the box was for this two pack. They just arrived Saturday and I can't wait to build them. The SUV seems massive - way bigger/more dense than I thought when I looked at the set online. I do think these 2-packs offer a better value than the single cars [though as a completionist for Speed Champions, I buy all the sets]. I do wish the single cars, at $27 USD, came with small side builds that the first generation of cars came with. But I do like that for the money, you're getting nearly always an amazing build process and not needing to spend $450+ to get that. These are technically some of the most well-engineered Lego sets TLG makes and I am happy to purchase them. And heck, even the poly bag versions of Speed Champions are well done. I'd love to see a documentary on how a designer creates these Lego versions. Truly Master Builder stuff!
I’ve basically stopped buying Lego, I don’t have the room anymore and I’m just not into moc building since I don’t have the time. But I still love and collect the speed champions sets, they blow me away every time!
you can still have a thumbs up even though this does make me kinda want it again after writing it off. I'll put on my wanted list and hold for a discount and see how I feel then
Great review as always Jang, I think this is one of the best double packs they've done, certainly better than that sticker mess that calls its self BMW. For over 800 pieces, you can't go wrong. The G wagon was a great build, felt more like a mini creator than a speed champions.
Speaking of 2 packs, one with a classic VW Bus and VW Beetle would be awesome (Or maybe one with a classic VW Bus and the new I.D. Buzz). Not sure if they really count as "Speed" Champions, but it's not like the G Wagon is a sports car either. And the sports cars are starting to feel a bit samey to me.
I believe that they are minifig scale, because there are two sizes due to the disproportions of minifigs. They may not be accurate to height but they are with width
"so how many black 3 by 1 plates with two studs on top are we going to use for G wagon?" "yes" yeah I know, joke`s been done about a million times but I couldn`t resist I loved building them. they are awesome.
Perfect. I really want that roadster, but not a big G-Wagon fan. My friend is and has a real G-Wagon too, he even looks like the male minifig (a bt greyer though), so I think I'll gift him the G-Wagon and minifig and keep the roadster and other minifig.
Im kind of torn on this set. The cars do look great but I think the G wagon might have passed the limit on how over-scaled lego cars can be before they look wrong alongside minifigs. I would have loved to see a comparison to other large "8 stud" speed champions vehicles, namely the ipace, Urus, and Bronco. The G wagon does really look good but it looks like it's almost as big as the cars from the Creator and Icons lines
I like the normal long reviews like this. I wasn't too interested in the set when it was first announced BUUUUUUT... The shaping on the SL63 is really good. It's so curvy! Yeah, gonna buy this at some point.
This didn’t feel like a speed champions build. Felt more like a scaled down icons set. ESP the truck. Wow. Fenders were a little loose and annoying. But great 2pack. Yellow car was a lot more fun and looks great than I thought.
It looks like there's a scratch on the wagon's windshield. If so, that's a huge bummer and it stinks that they still don't take the care to protect those larger transparent pieces,
That injection mold mark at the center of the 6x6 tile really bugs me, always has. Why on earth would they not put that on the underside of the piece? As always really nice builds though! I probably won't get them because non of these particular cars interest me personally, perfect to get a closer view of them this way. Thanks!
I unfortunately don't like either of these vehicles, like at all, but I knew from the looks of the set it was gonna be good so I got it and I enjoyed building it a lot
Not 100% why these chose that slight of a side window tilt to inside as it forces the use of small rear window and the weird technique to tilt the windows, making the sides less smooth.
That round brick is honestly the worst. It only sticks when it’s on an upright 4x4 surface. They need to redesign that piece or use 3 stacked, round plates as a substitute.
I like the roadster, i'm not loving the suv. Mainly the front hood looks blocky and breaks immersion for me with the two large slopes and the large plate in between them. They stand out as Lego bricks and not as a car hood to me. I'm not a fan of Mercedes in general, but I like the roadster more than I thought I would. We all have our taste in cars.
It's a test! I did my standard length review, but then filmed an all-new one that's half as long here: ruclips.net/video/ucTZ95dBfCw/видео.html Let me know your thoughts.
Interestingly I clicked on the longer video but phased out at 7 min
longer videos can include more details, and i always prefer them.
I am only watching the long one. And am using your link to buy it now.
After watching the short then the long, I preferred the long one. The short one was fine, but I am definitely interested enough in the sets to watch the longer versions, so I prefer those.
I prefer the longer, more detailed version.

I KNOW RIGHT. and the upcoming REMAKE of the Ferrari F40 will be an interesting comparison to the 2019 version!
But the raise in prices from last year to this year is unacceptable. It's still 8 stud wide.
Even though I haven’t bought many Speed Champions, I gotta say that I love the swap to cars with more than one seat.
the Karen-haircut driver in the G wagon really adds to the realism
I always appreciate the fact that you apply all the stickers perfectly. Really it elevates the look.
I use Jangbricks’ sticker application as a guide for when I need to apply them. He does it so perfectly
Yes, I agree - always very neat. Just like his reviews, always look neat and clean👌
With a black G wagon I can now make the obligatory action movie chase scene in Paris or Monaco with generic suit wearing bad guys.
LEGO 76924: The Two Worst People You Know Own These Vehicles
I like your full thoughts, though they take longer they are really insitfull (also your voice is really calming after a long day)
I really like that G wagon. Perfectly square for lego. The back of the car looks great too
Me and my coworker are splitting this set so we each get the one car that we want.
Which car are you building ?
Which one do you want?
wow wow wow. Absolutely exquisite designs, Speed Champions continues to impress and blow me away. This set has me seriously tempted even though I don't care one bit for the source material.

Wow, never knew about that theme, looks awesome! Imagine what they could do with that now. Maybe 'Icons' is what's taken it over.

these builds look like mocs
they're insane!
Great review, as always Jang. You’re the person to whom I go to when I want a thorough, independent review. Keep up the great work!
Great review! I’m not really interested in cars but these look so cool and satisfying as Lego, I would love to build them. I quite like the “standard lenght” review, the details make me happy :)
That g wagon has me sold
I wasn’t planning on getting this set but after seeing them in motion here, you’ve sold me on it. It looks ALOT better than the promotional pictures made it seem.
The SL looks way better on camera than in the renders! Wow! These are great models!
I'm not usually into cars, but these are impressive!
Full Length >> Half Length for me - I want the in-depth!
LEGO nailed the type of people to drive those cars XD! But that set looks really awesome though!
The G Wagon looks pretty easy to add some parts to base a Fortnite Trailsmasher moc
Phenomenal set. One of the few 2 packs which I feel subjectively is worth buying for both vehicles. Really love to see more variety, and hope to see more SUV styled builds in the theme.

The minifigs look like they would willingly mow you down, then ask you to pay for the damage
My only problem is that the rear of the SL63 is one stud too long IMO. Good set overall. All UK double-pack sets are £45 whereas as all single-packs are £21 so we actually pay more for a double pack than buying two individuals sets by a few pounds which is kind of annoying considering the US price.
Love these 2, need to pick this set up at some point
Ive got no love for mercedes vehcles in general but that being said this is an incredible set.
Price: absolute steal
Accuracy: very similar to source material
Comparison: fits perfectly in with the rest of the 8 wide speed champions line up
I always enjoy your videos Jang
The g wagon looks great, and the both builds were great, only bad thing imo is the rear of the g wagon
Beautiful car models, in LEGO! They look very sculpted.
great video as usual

Not a Mercedes fan..and don't get me started on the Goofy-wagon, but this set is genuinely a must have, this and the new F-40 are too good to skip.
Got this the other day, honestly they look so much better in person than in videos, i really dont mind the windscreen on the sl63
I've been waiting for this
I’ve basically stopped buying Lego, I don’t have the room anymore and I’m just not into moc building since I don’t have the time. But I still love and collect the speed champions sets, they blow me away every time!
Amazing speed champions set nice shaped yellow racer awesome review jang 👍
you can still have a thumbs up even though this does make me kinda want it again after writing it off. I'll put on my wanted list and hold for a discount and see how I feel then
Great review Jang!!
These look amazing, great review
I bought this yesterday, waiting for it, should arrive on 13th. They could have just covered those 2 dots with 2 x1 sleek plate :( G Wagen is crazy!
Love your videos, i wait for your reviews before even buying speed champion sets just to be sure of the value and quality
Great review as always Jang, I think this is one of the best double packs they've done, certainly better than that sticker mess that calls its self BMW. For over 800 pieces, you can't go wrong. The G wagon was a great build, felt more like a mini creator than a speed champions.

Not sure if they really count as "Speed" Champions, but it's not like the G Wagon is a sports car either. And the sports cars are starting to feel a bit samey to me.
The building techniques for the G wagon are insane for Lego
Will u do shorts form content?
I believe that they are minifig scale, because there are two sizes due to the disproportions of minifigs. They may not be accurate to height but they are with width
Oh god it's gorgeous
"so how many black 3 by 1 plates with two studs on top are we going to use for G wagon?"
"yes"
yeah I know, joke`s been done about a million times but I couldn`t resist
I loved building them. they are awesome.
Can’t wait to get this Mercedes AMG 2 pack. I want more Mercedes from LEGO, a classic gull wing or other classics would be nice
Some cool cars, with nice build technique.
Perfect. I really want that roadster, but not a big G-Wagon fan. My friend is and has a real G-Wagon too, he even looks like the male minifig (a bt greyer though), so I think I'll gift him the G-Wagon and minifig and keep the roadster and other minifig.
The SUV can be used as a swat car for the secret secret police fom TLM, lol. Lovely set and great revieuw, thsks Jang. 😂
Where did you find the stickers? Mine didn’t have any in the box except the ones for the yellow car 6:31
I changed out the hair piece on the driver of the G Wagon. She looks a better now. I still may replace the head though.
I need that Gwagen. We def need an ICONS Gwagen.
Just purchased this set can’t wait to build
I think the part used as windshield on the SL63 is not the best one.
It's too much curvy and not inclined enough.
I like the normal long reviews like this.
I wasn't too interested in the set when it was first announced BUUUUUUT...
The shaping on the SL63 is really good. It's so curvy!
Yeah, gonna buy this at some point.
My local Lego store had one of these left. I like the convertible, but I got it for the SUV.
Big fan of this pace
This didn’t feel like a speed champions build. Felt more like a scaled down icons set. ESP the truck. Wow. Fenders were a little loose and annoying. But great 2pack. Yellow car was a lot more fun and looks great than I thought.
I like your "clutch power" pun
would like to see a downscaled version of these
Definitely going to get this set in order to create a car chase scene
Good and informative review!
holy gorgeous. i need this
It looks like there's a scratch on the wagon's windshield. If so, that's a huge bummer and it stinks that they still don't take the care to protect those larger transparent pieces,
i think LEGO needs to make an up scale version of the G-Wagon
That G Class huge. Front grill needs to be modified tough. In real life it has horizantal lines.
Some MOC will do a swapple hardtop. Although the hair comes close to top of windshield.
Anyways, a great set.
I have to admit I love the drop top but absolutely despise the G wagon because of it's size
Weirdly uk is £21 and £45 a twin pack. But a superb set and line
Not 100% why these chose that slight of a side window tilt to inside as it forces the use of small rear window and the weird technique to tilt the windows, making the sides less smooth.
Windscreen on the sl63 doesn't seem right. We're lucky for getting a 2nd wave this year though ig.
Great video 😊😊
Oh man, this is quite the set! A very un-Lego-like car and a very delightfully huge SUV!! 😂
Excellent review. Now I want it. Lol. Jang, I like the Minifigures. Poke 😂
I would love this with a Miata and CX5
Thank you, great review 💯, great set !
Getting this some day
Haha I agree with the figures being super smug, but I can't picture anyone else driving that suv
I just can’t wait for Volvo speed champions
That round brick is honestly the worst. It only sticks when it’s on an upright 4x4 surface.
They need to redesign that piece or use 3 stacked, round plates as a substitute.
Still waiting for the speed champions Mom van
Im still not a fan of 8 wide builds. The minifigs are tiny next to them.
I can't wait til they go 10 studs wide in the future
This is the only way I'll ever afford a G Wagon.
The figures look like the Beckhams from a few years ago 😂👍
If the AMG had a roof it would have been perfection.
Maybe an older model G63 would have looked better because the more modern one has a bit of curve to it especially at the front
I gotta say as nice as these look the scaling is abysmal
