Words can't describe the influential impact Duane Peters has had in both skateboard and music community, whether u like it or not. MOD forever and a day, man. F the h8rs. Bless Him and wishing for to the meet the legend anytime. Awesome video!
💯
I was at a show once and he was there. Turns out he was playing the same venue the next day. Bought him a beer and we talked about skateboarding and music. Such a rad time
That's an amazing video!!! Really thank you who uploaded it onto RUclips. I had the opportunity to see him and US Bombs in a gnarly gig performing so wel in Brazil. Duane Petter's rules.
Time takes its toll on us and we still refuse to grow old! Long live the skater and the wheels of time they ride on.....
I seen the Bombs a few times back in the late 90s. One show they finished the set and i was waiting to say hi to him . He walked off stage came over by us . Then fell down totally wasted . Got up and walked right into the bar at the club. From then on i was a fan. He is a true skateboard and punk legend nomatter his downfalls.
I remember getting a used red 5 stripe from my friend at Marina DeL Rey in 1980. . .That board was speciaL , I set it up in independent trucks and bones 3's ! I was in 7th grade and off and running ! ! !
Got to love Duane no matter what.Glad he is still alive .
Duane may be a little crazy, but he is no fool. And for sure a legend in skateboarding that laid the the groundwork and lead the skate punk culture in the late 1970s. He has had some hard times in his life, but still deserves the respect and recognition for how he shredded on a skateboard and influenced so many many many people.
dont forget he was a goth new wave dude before he latched onto punk. there were other skaters that were punk before him... :)
I was working with his brother for years and could see how worried he was during those missing times, glad he’s still pushin just like the rest of us.
I always enjoyed hanging out with Dwayne at "the run" in Irvine, The Nest parking lot, and Civil Disobedience shows in the late 70's. Still kicking
I dont care what people say about him, I know hes a True punker, skater, human being…and hes actually a nice dude. Cheers to you Duane🍻
It is just sad how he turned out in later years. He is a legend.
Domestic violence, traumatizing his kids and being a racist trump cultist hasn’t anything to do with punk or being nice. The drugs totally fucked him up.
"Nice?" I've got the Who Cares documentary on DVD. Even his friends say he's an asshole. On most of his videos, he starts getting negative and hating on almost everyone.
Fuck yeah! Peters was my favorite skater as a kid. Glad to see he’s still kicking.
Saw him on stage with his bands at least twice here in germany, that guy is definitley beyond anything normal
So what's that say about you then. Just saying since you already knew what to expect. 😂😂😂
The part we’re he was talking about his son dying tore me up.
I once had a Skate Session at a US Bombs concert in 2002 it 3
I was a Nerd kid learning Skate Tricks from old Library Books. (There was No RUclips back Themen)So i Ended up knowing the old school Tricks and practicing that. In 2002 that me
meant beeing mocked a lot at the Skatepark , but it brought me to skating with duane. He Said hey like my older Style although i was 12 years old (and a 1st Generation thps 1 kid). We Ended up skating the miniramp and he lent His Board to me cause i didnt bring one.we were also hanging around before the Gig drinking a lot of Energy drinks and i i think for a lot of people it was Strange Seeing duane giving so much attention for a 12 year old. In fact I didnt Knew who he was when i was hanging out with hin, i Kind of found out shortly After when he Wenz on Stage.maybe that’s why he like me, i was at the concert because of the misfits and didnt knew the us bombs but got i Fan afterwards. I was so produktiv and still am when think at that day.
Duane-oooo! We had lots of fun with you and Chris back in the early OC/NB days. Sending love ❤️❤️❤️
Duane Peters The Master Of Disaster
Always will be a major inspiration in my life. ❤️🔥💪🏾🙏🏾 Skate Hard Live Punk Die Strong
1978- 1984. Downey skated pools at houses used for 105 fwy. We had three great spots and we rode our bikes from downey to Redondo beach first bikes then motor bikes.. Downey Library ❤❤❤

hahahah
nice to know Duane ok!!
I saw him beat up a guy after a skate contest at Whittier Skate City back in 1980 and I can still remember what a bad ass he was. I had never seen anyone drop in a pool straight like he did.
Been a major fan of the U.S. Bombs since 2006 when I was a 16 year old skater punk and I still love the bombs and skating!
“You better find love, otherwise, uh, whatever, I don’t know.” D. Peters

Totally awesome 🙃
He's an Animal always has been. His SK8 Style is insane he was a top dog that just didn't get the cashish that some did, That shouldnt have. It's the main stream crap That shuns even talent. But who gives a Fuck. If you know? You know he is Ultimately,Completely Totally Skate Core. Rad. It's what matters to skaters as kids or say at a PooL Session. When we started all this Fun. Right? EXACtLy! Adam...

Duane for Prez
Dude is a legend and a beast of an artist. DP forever!!!
King of the skate and punk rock scene, most original, will never be another!
Duane Peters is Rad,, and he always will be... 🚬✌️
when I was a kid he was inspirational, we would always imagine we were duane peters rolling in... he had style in spades... I had to learn layback rollouts just like he did them...
legendary
To think there are dudes younger than Duane that slip and die in the fuckin shower in the safety of their own home & this punk rock cyborg is still alive is insane!!! 😂
He’s the man honestly. Human cockroach 🪳
If you're listening/oggling it's two thousand and 23, and none of us are dead yet.
I was wondering where he went. I hope things get better for him. He’s rad as hell and I wish him the best.
That Devo skimboard would look great hanging in my jam room!
Somebody needs a hug!
was feeling old. needed reminded age is a number. we're all 17 mentally for life.
Duane Peters hawking boards on the side of the street is actually where i expected him to be in 2023
Why ?
Like 99% of pros past and present aren't doing that. helloo... LA Dave....
@@WHDRWN YEAH
Im a bmx rider and Id have been honored to buy those boards from DP. The guy is a fucking legend.
@@Barry-gi7hr maybe he should have his own place in boarding history 🤔
His art depicts individually him.
Be nice to see within a public gallery where democracy still allows us to enter. X
I did a project on him in college. Dudes a fukkin legend.
I don’t care about politics whatsoever. It doesn’t matter who is president, the world is still trash, and it will still burn… I had no idea about his Trumpness, but who cares? This guy rules. Seen him a couple of times, he is a legend. This is my favorite channel, btw.
Some around here, Spain, wish you the best. 2023 L.U.V.
I had his picture on my wall 43 years ago of him doing the 360 invert. I never thought of him being punk rock, I thought of him as a pro skaters. He was at the top of his game.
Duane is such a big influence in skateboarding. Love him or hate him no denying his contributions!
Thats the most gnarley car wreck Ive ever seen.
The fact that he is still alive is pretty wild
I remember being 14 in 2004 and reading an article and it was talking about how it was a miracle he was alive then 😆
@@chrism8234 that was the skateboarder mag huh? I had that issue as well
@@nicolasbaker9601 I was about to put up the exact same comment. :)
Opioids preserve!
@@chrism8234 I remember being 12 in 2004
Duane R.I.P
I got one of his boards from about 17 years ago, has sex pistols lyrics on it. Got it stashed away
Duane. Thank you. That’s right. Much love.
Total legend
So much respect for this man.
It is a true shame how they came for his head for speaking the truth.
Duane's a LEGEND!
Not yet ... won't be long though.
Saw the US Bombs play in about 2001 or 02 and the ENTIRE band was nodding out while playing! It was hilarious.
Im not saying this because i have a negative opinion of him or even people who are addicts. It was just amusing to see almost everyone onstage nodding out simultaneously. He is a legend in both punk and skateboarding.
In a mad world only the mad are sane
Cheers from Huntington Beach CA.
Oi Oi Oi
Have many records from him and his various bands. Have seen some of these bands too. U$ Bomb$ a few times
as well.
He's a True southern California punk rock n roller!!
0i!💀👍💨 from 951Skunks.
Used to see him at the Irvine banks back in 81’
So good tome!
Idolo!
Wonderful.
Had some Duane Peters canvas high tops about 20 years ago. Most durable canvas shoes I ever skated in.
I was there when he lost the wheel in the skull bowl! He was ripping so hard and ended up breaking his hip, my dad helped him out or the bowl. Then he was back a year or 2 later absolutely ripping again!
4:52 Heineken had a Special Dark Breww in the 80"s 😮
Awesome.
Sad that he got a rough start in life with an abusive father. A positive role model or supportive Father is the most important influence in a young man's life. You can see and sense how damaging and hurtful it was to him. In some ways, he never fully recovered from it. At least he has love and care for his sons, which speaks volumes on how a father should feel about their kids.
Dwayne Peters reminds me of myself
Duane looks like a better looking natural mickey rourke
King Kong got nothin' on me ! Punk Rock MF'er. Lower middle class OC/LA Punk Rock Suburban Dream. I've know 100 Duane Peters. He's still here. Surf/Skate/Race/ Fight/F***/Live Fast,Die. Whenever. Whatever. Next.
Love me some DP. Met him at the oceanside DAV thrift store and he signed a sticker for me
DP reminds me of my family, my family is a train wreck
Alex gall is "trainwreck".
The U.S. Bombs, one of the best punk rock bands ever, period.
Legend skateboard!
He is one year approximately younger than myself, born in the last months of 1960 .
He doing ok 😂😅🎉
Love him or hate him, he's the real deal! My first Santa Cruz board was his pro model! Wish I still had it, I'd sell it and send him the dough! I hate seeing anyone having a rough go of it! Welcome to the current America! Land of lies and the homeless!
Fuck yeah help a guy out when he is down not talk shit.no ones perfect .including me .
His son's tragic death broke him.
He was a deadbeat who never even cared enough to spend time with his kids when they were here. At the end of the day he’s just another junkie who blames the world for all his problems 🤷♂️
Keep ripping!!!45mph!!!🤙🏻🛹🛹
Fn killer man !
I always found it strange (coming from the UK) how a lot of California Punk singers seem to emulate Johnny Rotten's voice (the fella from Rancid is guilty of this, too) when really America has better roots Punk bands IMO. Ramones, Dead Boys, Misfits (with danzig) The adolescents, Agent Orange, etc. They're all bands I rate incredibly highly. I don't even like the Sex Pistols.
Always feels weird, as I was never into UK Punk very much at all. I mean there's some more undergound bands, some of the hardcore bands are good, etc. that 70's and 80's sex pistols style, and all those known bands like buzzcocks, etc. never been into it. The first Punk band I ever really listened to (that I actually liked) was the offspring when "smash" came out, and then I really got into Cromags when I was like 14 (I heard machine head cover hard times, and then went and bought age of quarrel like the next day)
I came from an area with no alt people, barely though. and the ones that were into different stuff, were into really mainstream sh1t like Nirvana, Pantera etc (good bands, but there was much better stuff out there IMO, at least for my own tastes of wanting more raw and heavy stuff) I had to discover hardcore myself, and it was by chance. I then had to go out of my way, traveling to other cities to go to shows, all on my own as well. Just would get on a train and go like 2, 3 cities over to a hardcore show, no idea how I'd get home again. I've had to sleep in loads of train stations over the years, all because I just wanted to experience the music live.
Bro, offspring wasn’t punk anymore by the time Smash came out. Ignition was a good punk album though.
@@throbbinwoodofcoxley6830 I was like 12 though dude, and grew up in a rural place near Scotland, didn't have a lot of influence.
TBH my favourite offspring album is Americana. I know it's commercial, but I like it.
@@easydoesit83 dunno what that is dude, sorry.
I would have probably thought I died for real if I ever saw him at that Volcom park. I skated that little bowl daily for 6 years straight when I lived out there.
Real one
I love us bombs was so bummed that tour got cancelled I was stoked about getting to see us bombs and I'm still sad I didn't get to fuck the haters, haters hate because they ain't got your love
Cos they're hanus!
Man, thanks for making this video. People should know the hell this guy went through, and what a legend he is
Where can I get his boards?
He had the nerve to say that biological men shouldnt be able to compete against biological women and that men can't become women and vice versa. The fact that this is considered "right-wing" really says alot about how left-leaning our country is. Unbelievable the crybullies cancelled him for it.
No pissant. Punk rock has ALWAYS been about equality. So he’s an oxymoron in himself by coming out with such shit when he’s representing punk. That’s why people “cancelled” him. US Bombs and DP will always be punk, but he’s still an idiot for saying such stupid shit when he represents punk which is against that ideology he’s recently inherited. Someone who’s put as much as he has into the scene tho should be given a pass and even tho I totally disagree with that bullshit he’s said on social media and whatnot I’m always gonna love his music and his personality.
your west coast tap water makes you all say the corniest shit i swear man whats next you gonna call him a douche nozzle @@Kained_But_Able
Not our country, just a vocal minority of crybabies propped up by the media. No one cares what thy think, only them.
Canceled schmancelled trans people are more punk than his old fashioned trad drivel
00:51 um 1989? That is the skull bowl at Lake Cunningham skatepark in San Jose CA which didn't open until 2008......
what a beast 1/8" shy of 11
Being canceled by these PC punkers is an honor!!
Duane is my all time favorite skater, raddest savage style. Fuck all the haters!
I hope DP makes it to a happy place. I have a suggestion that if he has done any wrong doings please apologize to those people. I like to think most people forgive.❤🤙🤘
F yea got to love him surf skate punk
Wen i took thet orch hewas on the blue foot with vans to still dedicate to hiscraft is damn incredible id go buy a ticket to the funny farm yo
That part of the video at 0:51 where hes in a pool comp is not 1989 not sure what year but definitely no 1989.
and maybe we're all dead?
Naw, just punk.
Hey Brother, it's been awhile. It's Blue, I think the last time we saw each other was way back when you played it Bashs pad in Orange. All Heil The Big O Regs! I saw you in the video having to go out and sell your boards, if you need a little help brother, get back to me or reply to my comment. Reg's take care of Reg's. I got smart and finally moved out of California. It was hard to do, leaving all the homeboys but I couldn't take the state's politics anymore! Get back at me and brother.
you found him you really found him
❤
Conservativism is the most punk rock thing you can do in CA these days!
LFMAO
You guys are *reeeeaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyy* reaching. 🤣😅😂🤣
Not in the OC lmao
I hope you’re saying that with punk rock smarm and sarcasm.
Conservatism isn’t punk.
Labeling yourself isn’t punk.
This dude was a great skater but a total flake his entire life.
Always labeling himself while bitching about labels.
Now he’s a fucked up washed ex addict that has fallen into the sky is falling set.
He’s a fucking Christian dipshit.
So much cringe material.
Straight up.
Inspiration to me getting my anchor tattoo on the face as well 🤣👌☠️
Wow so much to understand first this guy was the guy we all wanted to be back in the day he is one of the OGs and the punk rock was streaming through his viens also he is no fucking poser this mfer did it all and set trends I have so much respect for that now people get a tattoo and think they are some kind of bad ass this guy has more bas ass is his fucking pinky than all of them and my respect for life. The bad part is now society does not respect OGs unless there fucking rich and they don't take the time to appreciate the people who really did this I only hope someone can do a documentary on him and get him some cash he gave everything for his style he should be rewarded ❤
That fuckin MOD surfboard is fuckin hard.
