I think caracal 816 is good, because it is a proven platform,it is operational by UAE army,battle tested and shares lineage with hk 416 which is being used by most special forces in the world and have a high rate of fire ,800 RDS per min ,also it is based on short stroke piston system which results in low recoil,improved accuracy and high reliability.

When procuring defense equipment's no pressure no favoritism should work it should be a neutral test, In fact we should evaluate all models from the market and test it live during operations and than buy the technology to manufacture modify and alter it from the inventors, There are so many CNC and 3D printers available in the market, why cant we manufacture our own products, Is DRDO and state run factories so incompetent? Are the engineers being hired of so low quality? Is the administration so weak in not having future vision? Such a big country with so many Engineers Scientists and MBA graduates and still we cant figure out what we want forget manufacturing what we want. This is why you should have a civilian fire arm market like in the USA to build capability of manufacturing.
