Bruh a decent case is $100+ and same with keycaps. Spending that much on switches (less for a non-100% kb) seems reasonable to me
@@JPK314 Agreed. Didn't get these but got some Roselios, in retrospect could have probably done as well with Alpaca Silents or Ink Silents. But I was getting a case for $250, $40, for lube, $100 for keycaps (specifically because I wanted one certain SA set, if I went which I would have otherwise been willing do get GMK $150-$200.) It was my first build so extra hardware (soldering iron and so on). The switches are the peanut butter of a peanut butter sandwich. Why cheap out on that? Jiffy for me all the way. Even if I could get Roselios like feel from the other two (which are still "expensive" switches) why fret over an extra $20-$30 on what is already with the other switch a $500 build.

What is considered cheap and expensive depends on what people are willing to pay. For me, for example, I don’t need the best most perfect keyboard and only wanted to pay about $50 for a keyboard, so like $90 for just switches is expensive. If keyboards are a big hobby of yours and you are willing to pay a couple hundred dollars on a keyboard, then maybe they aren’t that expensive. I’m just saying that for the majority of people paying around $80 for just switches is expensive (not trying to hate or anything by the way lol, I’m just putting my thoughts out there)

A pretty damn thorough switch review with a physics lesson, 2 sketches, and a genuine "disclaimer" at the end and it did not feel like a 7 minute video. Great content man, keep it up.

I received the durock koala tough, and I honestly have difficulty to discernate between my zealios v2 and the koala.
They are very similar.

I wish you had released this a month ago before I spent over a grand on Zeal's website. This video doesn't do the Zealios spring ping justice. It's loud, and sometimes persists even after lubing. Tealios are solid, though.

I replaced the stock springs in mine with SPRiTs and they're just Hhnnngggg... V2 Zealios are love. V2 Zealios are life.

@@vezqor0 oh hi haha, doesn't feel like a year. I lubed them with krytox and they were even better. lubing them is worth it even though i don't think it affects the sound too drastically but yeah if i were you i'd lube them just a little if you are interested in them. they feel very good to type on but to be honest i think there are better cheaper alternatives, i'd recommend durock t1s if you are interested in a cheaper tactile option. in the end if you prefer the feel over the sound, get zealios

Great content as always. I replaced my Halo Trues with Zealoio v2 (78g) and actually really like them so far. I agreed that the stock spring noise is pretty bad and I plan on lubing them soon.

I'm new to this realm and come from a stock laptop keyboard.
I was advised to get MX Browns but these Zealios remind me a lot off laptop switches, you need a certain amount of force and then they'll tend to give.
Otherwise, I don't know what's good: Holy Panda's, Zealios V2 or Khails etc. compared to Tactility (MX Browns or laptop keyboards)

Zealios V2 are my first switches. Lubed with Krytox 205g0 and placed on a custom keyboard. Loved it! I am building an endgame keyboard with lubed linear switches. The Gateron black inks. I never tried them and I am scared I’ll hate them after soldering them on my endgame keyboard. The Zealios are really great and fun to type on

More people need to call out not only how expensive Zeal switches are, but how bad their value really is. The fanboys that Zeal surrounds himself with always go back to the whole "if you're willing to spend that much, that's your choice" BS, but it just shows how anti-consumer this hobby can be. Zeal switches have certain desirable characteristics, and they obviously deserve to be priced more than stock switches, but when you charge a price that is so shamelessly inflated over nearly every other switch out there, they better be perfect in every way straight out of the bag or else just fucking charge a fair price in the first place.
yep. Good switches, with some glaring issues not found in switches half their price.
The price is not justfied but people like the switch, and in the grand scheme of things £60-80 on switches for a lot people in this hobby is literally nothing

apart from having fun watching your videos i often find myself agreeing with what you say. In fact I'm writing from a keyboard built with zealios, and it's true...I had to carefully lube 'em (I would have done it anyway....but...!) to get rid of the spring ping. You wouldn't expect it to be so bad from a switch that costs so much. After the lube work they're so good though...the tactile bump is so 'present' that I'm kinda regretting I didn't get the 70g switch to know how it would have felt. Nice video man, as always! keep it up!
Agree with this - was surprised and tried to rationalise the spring ping as maybe a faulty batch but it seemed to be a shared experience. I even put some other springs it it to make sure the oing was not being exacerbated by and leaf ping and it turned out it was indeed just a pingy stock spring. I'm wary of lubing the rest of the housing but the springs are must, then the zealios are quite fun. Appreciate the continued support Fabio!

I got one in the switch sampler set WASD sends you, and I have to say it was my favorite and the second place was the Cherry MX Blue. Pretravel is actually not something I really like having tried out a few switches with that, so the Blues are in a distant second place.

I have the 67g Zealio v2s, lubed and filmed, in my main keyboard. I agree, they are tactile but it's a big round tactility and not sharp at all. I like them but I think they're a tad heavy. I built my wife a keyboard as a gift and put the 62g ones in there, and those are better... not so much of a workout. Both are overpriced, and I doubt I'll be buying them again (especially since I only use hotswaps).
