Sick beat as usual! Honestly out of all these channels, you're in the top when it comes to my favorite beats and you have the karate belts to back your facts up. Had the MicroKORG twice back in the days - got sold on the look but always grew tired of programming it, this looks cool! Big ups for keeping it moving.
I appreciate the kind words Blezz! I had the same experience when I had the Microkorg back in the day. Looks and sounds dope but programming it was a chore.
I bought one used one years ago. I almost forgot I had it. Today I pluged it and it works. It actually sounds good to me. Sinse it's back in vogue I might even have it on some of my next recordings. It doesn't seam to be able to do exact tempo blah blah blah.
I was looking for a supersaw sound, and I came across a good one on this VST. Its at Trance, A13, Unison Saw LD with a bit of tweaking on mod fx, delay, and eq
I literally sold mine yesterday. Since this vst seems to come with the same presets as the original hardware I hope I can load all my patches into it too. This is trully a blessing for me lol edit: 5:30 oh, ok :)
Yeah, you just have to sidechain the track that you want to apply the vocoder to. Then you mute that track if you want to hear just the vocoded signal and play the Microkorg.
Yeah, the plugin sounds pretty much the same as the OG MicroKORG. In terms of hardware, I'm looking forward to checking out the new MicroKORG 2 that will come out in a few months.
If they are presets for the OG Microkorg (which are compatible with the XL), then they will work with this plugin. But if they are specifically for the XL or XL+ they may not work, as the XL uses a newer synth engine. If unsure you can just d/l the demo and try before buying.
There's Forward/Reverse option for the Looper effect. Not sure about the hardware integration. I might make a separate video about the Kaoss Pad, once I've spent more time with it.
The age of the sounds doesn't matter and you can create your own. This one has much higher polyphony, which is crucial. Also, you can use multiple instances, it's more convenient to use in a DAW, it's $99 on sale multiple times per year and I bought the whole Korg Collection 4 which makes it even cheaper. An actual h/w Microkorg is still nice though, don't get me wrong.
@@LowHeatBeats yeah I had one in that I sold in 2010. It’s a nice synth for sure. I’m still a bit shocked at Korg’s VST prices…. $500 for the collection is a lot. …. But yeah I’m using only VSTs no hardware anymore just SeratoStudio DAW and a few VSTs - just bought The_Instrument by Phil Speiser and USynth by Ujam… but for my LoFi meditational music I don’t need synths just mainly EP, a nice pad, bass and drums. Not buying VSTs made my life so much easier :)
@@tobiaslofi My price was $250, upgrading from M1 LE, so not that bad, but I agree that it's expensive. Not buying VST is a good move for sure, you don't need so much stuff at all.
I guess for them to make these emulations it has to be a really popular synth? Not sure if the Z1 was *that* popular, certainly not as famous as the Microkorg or the Triton. But it would be great if they do it for sure!
@@brunostroszek3928 Haha... Thanks. The reason I didn't buy Korg Collection is because I thought the Prophecy is MONO. They advertised it as a mono synth. Even if you go on their page now it's difficult to find out it has polyphony.
It's sad that they chose this interface, it's interface is actually the microkorgs biggest drawback beside the 4 voice poliphony. The MS2000 had the same engine but a far better interface. They could've done something in between or at least make some improvements. Why would I pay a hundred dollar to struggle with my sound design. Korg should really up their game when it comes to improvements instead of just a half assed re-release, same thing with the Monologue Bass. It's sad, really sad.
It's the same as the Microkorg only in terms of looks and colors, it's much more like the MS2000 in terms of programmability and access to parameters. The drawback of the OG Microkorg is the lack of knobs and having to navigate the matrix to edit parameters. There's none of that on this plugin.
Besides the appearance and colour palette, the interface is not the same as the hardware. The microkorg was full of menu diving. Why would Korg make a plugin with that kind of limitation? lol
🔥 Check out my sound packs lowheat.gumroad.com
Gotta say, that Microkorg sound still sounds so good and having more than four voice polyphony makes so much difference.
Couldn’t agree more!
FINALLY!!!!!!! It’s about time!
I know, right?
Dude! That bass sounds so full and 3D 😲
I know, right? Probably my favourite preset on the MicroKORG.
Wow! I own a hardware microKORG and this sounds so accurate. Those presets are identical.
Absolutely!
Any DIFFERENCES you hear?
@@CalikoTube the vst is a bit brighter and a touch less warm sounding but still good really! 👍
Sounding awesome as always dude!!
Much appreciated!

Sounds great. Lovely demonstration. I'm a sucker for those early 2000s synths.
Yup, I dig them too!

It's a great synth, I don't think it ever went out of vogue tbh, it's classic.
I wish they would release a microkorg XL+ as well!!
Sure, maybe they could release it as Radias, since it's the same engine.
Great demo, very nostalgic. Great beat too!
Thanks for checking it out!
The Beat is Sick!
Thanks!
Great inspiring Beat. thank you for the introduction.
Thank YOU for watching 🙏

Yeah the MicroKorg is pretty decent for this kind of sound.
Fun fact, the MicroKORG's sound engine is the same as the KORG MS2000 used for the Metroid Prime games.
Yeah true, I had an MS2000 a couple of years ago. Didn’t know that a game used the same engine though.
Wowzers!
I literally sold mine yesterday. Since this vst seems to come with the same presets as the original hardware I hope I can load all my patches into it too. This is trully a blessing for me lol
edit: 5:30 oh, ok :)
Ha, great timing on Korg's part then.
@@LowHeatBeats facts lol
Does it sound the same? Can you share your patches? Thanks!
Using the ms2000r and still won't be selling it, unless this vst lets you route audio into it...
@@brunostroszek3928 is there an ms2000 vst?
Very nice overview, thank you =]
Have you figured a way of using the vocoder in ableton
Yeah, you just have to sidechain the track that you want to apply the vocoder to. Then you mute that track if you want to hear just the vocoded signal and play the Microkorg.
Very clean !!!
Thank you! Cheers!
nice waiting for the king korg and the trinity
Yeah why not? I guess King Korg is still too new though...
Korg is probably already working on the next release of the plugins, there going to put out next year. Korg collection 4...
That beat is dope!
Much appreciated!
Been wanting a micro KORG for so long now. Surprised to see a VST released I think I might skip the hardware at least for now

@@LowHeatBeats Yezzir. Sorry can you give a recommendation source for vocal samples btw. Thanks so much.
Splice would be the cheapest and easiest for finding vocal samples.
Could you imagine if the microkorg had all those knobs? Even at 4 voices people would pay a ton for that
Yeah, that's what the MS2000 was but it never got this popular. I guess price, size and looks play an important part to the popularity of this synth.
Where can i find the vst plugin? Ableton cannot find the vst???
Nice!
Thanks!
how do you get your dirty bass to glide like that?! sounds so good. mine does not do this :(
I didn't do anything to it, it probably has glide programmed in the preset, it's about how you play it. You need to play legato (ovelapping notes).
That beat! Very nice
Much appreciated!
I owend a Microkorg XL+ and bought some extra presets, would they load into the plugin version?

Hope this doesn’t mean they are discontinuing the instrument.
I hope so too.
Super dope.
Thanks!

🙏🙏🙏
nice
Thanks
there was one from years ago but for the MicroKorg-S.
If that was the case, why would they make it again for what is essentially the same synth?
@@LowHeatBeats was a shitty version.
do you know where i can get any free patches for the vst?
I don't know but you should be able to load patches that were made for the h/w MicroKorg and there are probably thousands of these available online.
How do you use the Vocoder? (external sound input)
Load Microkorg on a MIDI track, route audio track with a mic input to it, play the Microkorg with midi keyboard, talk/sing into mic.
Hi. I have my KP3+ real and this VST have hardware integration?
Kaoss PAD VST have "SMP.3 - Sample Forward/Reverse"?
Thanks you.
There's Forward/Reverse option for the Looper effect. Not sure about the hardware integration. I might make a separate video about the Kaoss Pad, once I've spent more time with it.

Is that an Ike doll in the background? 😂
It is indeed that! Not mine but it was a guest in my studo for a little while 😂
How do you install patches
There’s an option to import presets in the menu.
Seems odd that they didn't do the ms2000 instead
It's the same synth engine but the Mikrokorg is much more famous and recognizable, so to me it makes sense from a marketing standpoint.
@@LowHeatBeats But the microkorg is missing a few features that are on the MS2000
which operating system are you using windows or Mac? Which audio interface you are using?
I'm using Mac OS Monterey, interface is MOTU M4.

You can hear Flying Lotus in these sounds.
He probably used one back in the day. Also, I’m a big fan of his work.
now we all can sound like Chromeo
Sure! 😅
@@LowHeatBeats or the next synthwave hit.

one negative point is there is no support for vst 2 so far.........
Yeah, I noticed that, but everything is moving to VST 3 these days, so I doubt they will make a VST 2 version.
$149 for a plugin with 20year old sounds?! You can almost buy a used hardware microKorg for that
