In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Academy Award® winner Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all - but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson, “Midway”) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley, “Game of Thrones”) believes her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.
Directed by Roland Emmerich and written by Roland Emmerich, Harald Kloser, and Spenser Cohen. - Кино
Glad to see the smoke monster from Lost has finally made it into movies.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻
That special effect has been on sale for a long time now so why not use it. 😆😁
Frfr 🤣🤣🤣👌🏿
😂😂😂
It's actually from Big Hero 6
There’s nothing more viscerally terrifying than watching an astronaut tumble off into space. Like that’s a real nice monster you got but disappearing into the void is one of my biggest childhood fears
Technically there;s 0 chance of you leaving the solar system so there's no void; you're not going anywhere far : ) if that makes you feel any better.
@@decemvre
For me personally, whether or not I would leave the influence of Sol doesn’t change what the experience or perception would be lmao.
I would still _technically_ be tumbling off into a dark void *between celestial bodies in our solar system,* never to escape the even pull of gravity around me in my own lonesome Lagrange point.
The idea of never having my feet on some form of solid ground, or place to pull myself to safety or not even being able to orient myself or get my bearings are the parts that terrify me.
A void is a void is a void
@@decemvre, 0 is a very strong word. We cold be hit by a big asteroid and @Prettypinkdork could be thrown in space to live the rest of eternity in the void of space. Let's just give her the fact and let her decide whether or not she wants to continue living in fear.
I guess they eventually become a star.
That’s how death is
my favorite part is when he opens the door to the interior and then the pressure exit that craft. makes all the sense in the world to open a pressurized chamber with the door oriented to the interior, just love it !
lol
You are right, there is no way that he would be able to open that pressurized door.
He's also completely unaffected by the fast rotation
and he somehow got out of that suit
RUclips astronauts🙄
Big time fan of Roland Emmerich. I will watch it with whole family
This is the Gravity opening sequence condensed into 5 minutes lol
I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say
"Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had (ooh, ooh)
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had (ooh, ooh)
Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(Gonna take the time)
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had (ooh, ooh)
LOL!... I always sang " ...a hundred men on mars..."
Someone really need to tell the folks in Hollywood that the space shuttle was decomissioned 10 years ago.
EDIT: Ok, having seen the movie now, I must admit it was much better thought out than the trailer lead me to believe. I was pleasantly surprised.
They haven't figures out that the inside of a spinning vehicle *also* spins, a a trivial think like retired shuttles is nothing.
That's ok. It's either historical fiction, or alternate timeline. Both are fine.
I'm more curious about why they are working on the satellite way off over the side of the shuttle. In reality any work is done inside the cargo bay. That way they have better camera and tether options.
I love that they used it.
It's iconic.
Maybe this timeline is when they were still in service.
you do know that this is a movie, meaning it's entertainment and I have you know the Star Wars thing happen a long time ago....so yeah this is 15 years ago...how's that...I know cause Halle and I were a thing before she left for space...
@@StephenZ827 It did take Hollywood about 10 years to realise people use Windows now, and no longer use programs with MS Dos like interfaces too.
The Moon is an EXTRATERRESTRIAL SATELLITE 👽 good to see Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson 😉❤️
From the director of Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012.
So they copied the scenes from Gravity and you start hearing sound in vacuum !!! 👏👏 Marvellous
Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson, in a sci-fi film, in space? SOLD!!!
Right!?? Super pumped!
Night Owl gonna save the day!!
yep
If the Endeavour orbiter was spinning out of control, Halley Berry would be experiencing massive centripetal forces. She’d be pinned to the hull and not just floating there.
Guess she just got lucky and was seated at the axial center of the orbiter's mass.
@@floobertuber excellent point, but what are the probabilities when the bridge is at the front?
@@overkillphil514 Pretty darn lousy, I'd say!
It's just a POS movie. By the renowned Hollywood scientists.
Pretty had to suspend disbelief when the filmmakers get the basics so horribly wrong.
It's one of the reason The Expanse is as good as it is. The get the basics right, even the little things, and use them as part of the story rather than trying to pretend that noone did year 10 physics in highschool.
Entering a whole new world 🌍👁😊🌀 intro starts with Toto Africa
I was more Impressed with how fast he got outta the space suit. 😂
100% accuracy kills the fun ..lol
You and me both!
That’s for sure.
Yes. That is an 1 1/2 hr+ process. Plus the micro gravity physics esp inside the spinning shuttle were, ummm, off.
I thought modern space suits had built in rocket packs for stabilization and safety, so no swirling off into space.
Can't wait to see it!!! Love Patrick Wilson, he's great in this kind of movies
It felt like just 2 minutes, which is good
That was a badass and seriously solid opening scene; so glad to see Emmerich doing a somewhat darker sci-fi disaster film.
Pity about the lack of realism. If that craft had been spinning like that, he would have been slammed againt the interior wall & be unable to move - certainly wouldn't have been able to enter the cabin. So this movie fails in the first 5 minutes - cringeworthy.
@@TheLizardOfOz…
ITS A SCI-FI MOVIE. Sci-fi stands for science FICTION. ITS JUST FICTION DUDE
@@navenesneros5226 It's a LOUSY sci-fi movie if it can't get that right. Or is there no such thing? Try "Gravity".
@@navenesneros5226 *Science* fiction - even if the science is invented, it should be consistent. Otherwise it's fantasy.
The black guy dies... where have I seen that before?
Every "disaster" movie known to man...?
Might see this just because its gets into the action immediately. Also, the the space object drilling into the moon is like wow
Ah ha! I bless the rain in Africa. All these years I thought I miss the rain 🌧 in Africa. I learned something new today.
Emmerich:
"Physics? I don't have to show you any stinking Physics!"
It's just a POS movie. By the renowned Hollywood scientists.
I just love Roland Emmerich's over the top apocalyptic movies,
And here I thought 2012 was his topper.
I cannot wait to see this!!
I love it
this better be your comeback Emmerich, no more strikes after Independence Day: Resurgence
idgaf i still wanna see an independence day 3 to wrap it all up
I CANNOT wait for this movie!!!
Halle Berry ages like fine wine. Can't wait to see this!
This was movie was god awful!
LMAO. I too always thought the lyrics were “I miss the rains down in Africa”. Only after I looked up the lyrics did I realize the word was actually “bless”.
Yep, 2 of my favorite actors in the same movie. A bit of sci-fi with some nice effects. Count me in! 😃
Same here
Maybe they could have spent less on the effects & hired a science advisor. First 5 minutes is a major fail.
Looks interesting movie..What is that ..What is that black stuff. ?Oh carap..I thought it was not great movie. Now i saw this part.Maybe worth seeing.Hally and Southerland great actors.
Yes, Halle Berry has VERY NICE effects!.

Used to be like "hate this kind of crap" now I'm like, "yes something other than superheroes!"

@@hammondOT that is Hollywood films sadly. Il take a bit of crap sci fi for a break.
Gravity meets Venom, meets Wandering Earth etc ,, looks good.
❤️Love me some Halle Berry, I certainly plan to see this she’s having such a renaissance in her career. From her directorial debut, and starring role in Bruised to here opposite Patrick Wilson who I also love. This looks really good!! It’s certainly on my list to see!!!💫🤘🏾🎬
Agreed
i love halle berry!!!!
Respectfully, a few social media posts PR with her beau showing how happy is and a movie coming out from a veteran actor who never had an issue getting roles is not a career resurgence my brother it’s just her next big role IMO
Don't forget her and her dogs in John Wick 3 🐕
She looks like she's still in her 20's in this
We need more movies like this.
Welcome back, Roland Emmerich.
Well I will definitely be seeing this! Halle Berry has starred in some good movies lately! I’m a big outer space movie fan! This opening sequence had me hooked!
It's a horrible plot though. Both the plot and ending are moronic.
your life must be really boring
Nice to see we’re back to making the same movies with different titles, like Armageddon and Deep Impact. This time it’s Don’t Look Up and MoonFall.
wait, for any other astronomers out there, that very first opening scene, doesnt make sense. The moon is in a crescent shape , which means that the sun is directly to the right. The astronauts seem to be directly on top of the north pole, judging by what section of the earth is below them. However, there are a lot of lights directly below them, indicating they are probably over the us or europe, and it is probable just past sunset in that area or about to be morning. That area below them should be the arctic circle or somewhere where there are less city lights. That is an impossible location on the earth
This looks good! Caught me wanting more!
The cinematography and visual effects look beautiful as hell. I can't wait to see this in IMAX. A massive tornado on the moon? That's scary as hell!
Volcanic eruption?
@@SMunro Not sure but maybe. It all depends on what the plot of the movie is. Volcano eruptions on the Moon today are possible but extremely unlikely. They did happen a ton more than 2 billion years ago.
Copied straight out of the movie "Gravity" . And what's up with soft shadows casting from sunlight !!! Cinematography was awful
@@frankaalbers1099 Lol! They copied "Interstellar" "Star Wars" "Star Trek" "Apollo 13" and every space movie out there. Sure why not. You'll still watch it
why is it that i feel some kind of sarcasm when you said tornado lol~~ I'm skeptic but since I'm a space movie fan guess i'll have to check it out
I love movies like this! Can't wait!
I CANNOT WAIT to see this movie!
Opening sequence reminds me of Gravity ... another fantastic "space-tashtrophe"
That movie sucked
@@Gearhead-en8dz Sandra Bullock made up for it.
It's her turn.
Maybe every ten years a 40something American starlet gets a space shuttle suprise impact disaster survival movie.
Halle Berry ❤️❤️❤️
The start of description of Moonfall on IMDB is as follows: In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it.
Now, think about this for a minute:
1. The Moon orbits Earth at a speed of 2,288 miles per hour (3,683 kilometers per hour)
2. It's mass is 7.348 × 10²² kg
Forget everything else - inertia, gravity, centrifugal\centripetal force for argument's sake.
Now, some mysterious force wants to stop or even reverse a body of mass 7.348 × 10²² kg moving at 2,288 miles per hour (3,683 kilometers per hour).
Have you heard of people say if you hit water at that speed it's like hitting the brick wall?
do you get the picture? There are only two possibilities now aren't there?
1. Something has to *cushion* the moon. That is equivalent of you throwing a ball on sponge. Sponge absorbing it's force and slowing it down.
2. You slow down moon slowly using same technique as one of the NASA approach: have a big body circle moon over hundreds of years that will cancel it's motion.
Just because you can do special effects doesn't mean you should. This is in same line of a spider bite giving someone ability to shoot stuff or gamma radiation making someone's underpants infinitely stretchable.
Can’t wait. Looks good!
The effects are so good
Patrick Wilson is the come back king. Love that he is making amazing big theatrical movies after doing some made for TV work earlier. Love this teaser. I’ll be watching it at my Regal 🥤🍿
hes been making movies for years....
@@23bobjr Yes but a lot of his earlier work was made for TV movies which I absolutely hate. Movies don’t belong on TV until AFTER they play in theaters. I don’t recall him in big blockbusters like this. I’m well aware he has been involved in Conjuring franchise and produced.
I played him in football during high school!
Right. Now I have to watch it. The visuals are fantastic
Great cast, sweet special effects. Totally ready
I love a good space mystery! Like, how did NASA resurrect the space shuttle program to service satellites?
Is the movie set in the past, rather than the present?
Ms Berry, Patrick Wilson and Michael Peña are inspiring me to watch this when it’s released. Wilson and Peña can be under appreciated at times.
It's probably decades since the script was written or since the writer had a fresh idea.
Not just satellites, but what looks like a Hubble 2
Halle Berry🔥🔥
🤯😵🥴 damn ! Great opening ! I think a lot of suspense. Better than several entier movies. And hyped by Patrick Wilson and Halle Berry
I NEED to see this film

Amazing movie
Looks like another movie like Armageddon where impossible events happen, but we love it for the action and special effects; and who doesn't love Halle Berry.
