Still think he should’ve recruited Berlin instead of killing him. Berlin went after him, but even by Red’s standards, he had a good reason.
Berlin was skilled and resourceful, and after he found out the truth, he held no ill will towards Red. If anything, he’d probably be a little thankful for not only showing him the truth, but letting him talk to his daughter one last time.
Berlin could’ve been a great asset or ally

For Red he can understand the lengths that he had gone through, he could easily have done the same things himself if the roles were reversed, and in another life they could easily have been friends. He respects him but too many thing had happened and like a dog who severely injures its owner or the owners family, there is a lack of trust that for many can't be rebuilt. In this case Red has no idea what the potential outcome of a friendship with him would be. Safer to just take him out and take over what assets he had.

Berlin was always motivated by passion and revenge instead of greed or other motives. I think Red would’ve rather played his hand in with the current Cabal members rather than let Berlin continue to attack them, which he likely would have done.
