This is only the second time I’ve fished it, but by the looks of it, you’re right. With all the junk people leave behind it has a feel of being highly targeted by anglers.
I prefer to call brown trout as non-natives since they tend not to have high reproductive success to be considered invasive. I also prefer to refer to them as stream bred instead of wild. Probably just the ecologist in me😅. I have always thought that the main river would have big browns in it but it was so abused in the past. Now that it is cleaner I would like to try microfishing the river.
I would definitely find it interesting to try out microfishing up there and see how the diversity differs from the Schuylkill drainage near me. Maybe I’ll try it out in a video this summer 🤔
20 " brown trout....Top of Petersburg dam everywhere. Little Juanita river as well.
Thanks for the tip! I haven’t fished any of those places yet so I’ll have to look into them!
Havent fished for freshwater trout my whole life, just caught a nearly 18" brown recently totally hooked GL
Nice! I enjoy the challenge of it. Especially the wild populations. Not easy to find and tough to fool! Makes it all the more rewarding!
That creek gets a lot of pressure definitely nice fish in there but it tough
