Hi Davie Watched this clip this morning, tyed up a couple, went fishing this afternoon, and caught two fish on it, how happy am i, big fan of yours, i have learnt so much form your posts! cheers duncan
Hi Davy,I was brought up in bellsbank and fished the Galloway hill lochs all my childhood and still try to fish them as often as I can, I remember the cock a bondhu fishing well on macaterick and riecawr, finlas, among others.I've been a spinning man most of my days, but at the tender age of 36 I've decided to try and fish properly(as I,m often reminded) ha,I've started tying salmon flies as well for the coming season on the Tyne, your tying videos are a real masterclass, cheers Davy, might meet you
Hi Davie, I find your videos very very helpful.I have done well withyour purple cascade.Thank you very much. Out of interest this fly is called Coch y bonddu in Welsh or some times Coch a bonddu. The bondhu seems Irish or maybe Scottish.
I thought id best ask the godfather of all things flies what would be your top ten patterns for a trip to a loch near dumfries and then Oban. Ive hired a cottage in three weeks time and am so looking forward to it. thank you eversomuch for your work here so far and would greatly appreciate any advice. best luke
@DavieMcPhail Hi Davie I havent had much time to fly fish been working alot latley. Just been getting ready for a few tournaments that are coming up. We miss this months but I was really wanting to go all I had to do was catch one 14" bass on my fly rod and I would have had a lake record. The only one thats has been caught was a white bass 7 pounds and a few ounces. But all ways next time.. Chance
