    The most satisfiying thing about the video is that you've helped that poor animal out of its suffering because it can do nothing for itself in that situation and you sir are a true hero.

    I grew up on a farm. At age 3 I had my first disagreement with my father about a cow. They make different sounds for different reasons. Pain is something they feel, and all animals do. Farmers don't usually call the vet, they take care of things if they can. I stood my ground, "Please call the vet, she is in pain". No animal should suffer when there are meds for them. Thanks, Dad for calling. From then on Dad had pain the meds. I miss the farm and my Dad.

      Did you get an apiectomy? I had an abscess above my right front tooth and all I could do was rock back and forth in pain. My dentist cut open the gum and scraped out all the infected bone around the top of the tooth and packed it with cadaver bone material to regrow the bone around the tooth root. She saved my tooth for sure. Crazy stuff! Not fun at all. People complain about getting root canals and honestly, root canals are NBD.

    • @goodlookinouthomie1757
      @goodlookinouthomie1757 2 года назад +3

      Yes I've had one of those, it's not pleasant at all. Even after ringing my dentist for an emergency it was almost a week. In the meantime I got so desperate I dug out some codeine tablets that I had left over from an operation some years before. They worked wonders by the way, but I wouldn't advise driving on them :)
      Incidentally, by the time I was in the dentists chair, the infection had gone away... I must have a decent immune system. I ended up having root canal on the tooth, which failed, and then it was later extracted - luckily it was a tooth at the back and not visible so I live with it.

    I bet it was surprising to realize how many non catle owners where dedicated fans of this type of stuff...I love the knowing they are getting help and getting their booboos fixed. so many livestock owners let their animals get bad or don't care for them as they should and that kills me , idc what the animal is for one must take care of them while they are in your care..growing up I had to feed pigs that were raised for their meat and as hard as it was I made sure they were shown love till they went on to serve their purpose bc they shouldn't be neglected or get less care bc they are going to be slaughtered one day so I made sure I showed them some thanks for what they were going to be used for , but I couldn't Name them bc I did the first littler and it liked to killed me the morning I fed them and left for school knowing I'd come home and they'd be gone so I had to stop naming them and I just used bud for them all. Also I they would take them off to slaughter when I was off to school so I wasn't there to see it bc I couldn't handle that either, but was exciting to know I'd have another bunch coming to take care if soon...

      Dairy cows are usually well taken care of a sick or in pain cow is not going to give good milk and be a waste of resources just sending the cow off to slaughter if its something fixable and the cow produces good yield would be a waste too. If you like watching this you should check out the iowa dairy farmer videos
