Took me a while but I finally found it. I played this as a kid on my dad’s computer back in 1992. I had forgotten the name of this game. Thanks for posting this
Yes I actually remember playing this game in Jr. High class on the computer. It is SUCH a trip to see it and also be playing it again. I got it working on Boxer and it runs just fine. To bad this game was never finished, it would have made for a great coffee break game. I also… kinda like the old-school graphics. I felt the same way about graphics for like Chip's Challenge and Castle of the Winds.
@@Pixelmusement thanks again, especially since you’re right that there probably isn’t even a manual to begin with! I’ve looked through your other vids and love your old dos game profiles especially! Subscribed to ya now, keep up the awesome work! Don’t let anyone ever tell you it’s frivolous work haha sure helped me!
+Endy Mallorn It's kinda hard to call these "strategy" games as the only strategy really is to keep your numbers good. I think it qualifies more closely as an "adventure" or "simulation". :B
Swear to whatever you like, I recall playing this before 1990 in a purely ASCII environment. But I can't quite find entirely what I recall. "Super Star Trek" looks like the closest. Interesting to see this looks almost exactly like it . . .

I LOVED this game as a kid and played it A LOT. But you are correct, I knew about it, played it, but had no idea what it was called.
I could be wrong about this, but I think if you fly with shields raised, you consume double energy.
+Schwarzer Ritter Just looked into this and... good call; you're correct! :o
Reminds me a LOT of the old text mode DOS Star Trek game from the mail-order shareware floppy days.
Thanks for this vid - I played this game ages ago and was never able to find it again.
this was so helpful omg thankee, was looking for a manual online that im not sure even exists but found a link to your vid instead!
I highly doubt a manual for this thing exists given its uncredited and seemingly abandoned nature. :P

"TRIBBLES ALLOWED"
Instant thumbs up.
I am now going to rate all games by whether or not they have "TRIBBLES ALLOWED" in the setup menu.
Scotty: I'll be damned...
Tribbles converted into 500 units Energy.
For a guy who dislikes strategy, you're mysteriously good at Trek. LLAP.

I guess also that it will be a Larry game... part 5 in particular. :)

If you'll ever do another one of these type of Star Trek games (TVTropes classifies it as the "Star Trek Text Game"), I recommend EGA Trek.
I love your channel. Keep up the good work!
phreakindee (LGR) sent me here :)
I take it Leisure Suit Larry's next?
