What dude, seriously. Armada was quite fun, and Armada II was alright even if it wasnt spectacular. And Bridge Commander was fairly well recieved as well. Also TNG A Final Unity was one of the most immersive and in depth stories in a video game that I had seen up to that point.
But those aside how do you forget Klingon Academy. IMO the best trek game ever made. Really made you feel like you commanded a klingon warship and tied in beautifully to the story of Star Trek VI

I've seen Shatner in his new series on Netflix. He is looking his age. For an old man in this video he is pretty fat. His stomach looks very tight. That tight gut makes me uncomfortable. It makes me feel like his gut is going to bust open. Hernia's are a real problem for older men and that weight could be a killer. I think Bill Shatner's secret to long life is that he enjoys living. He got to the captain on an iconic Sci-Fi show. He starred in all the movies. He was TJ Hooker and the Big Head guy on 3rd Rock from the Sun. He was on tv shows, in many, many movies. He's had a lot of fun being the top dog. Let's face it too, as Captain Kirk, chubby or not, he was handsome, dashing. He got the babes. He had George Takei hating him to this day. I think Shatner loves it, loves being who he is. And he just has a way of being happy. I think this keeps him alive. Be happy and stay alive. Be depressed, sad and angry and you're gonna make yourself sick. Those kind of people usually die younger. How many bitter old bastards live to be very old? Probably way more that I know is the answer.

Once upon a time, in a retirement home far, far away, there were two extraordinary residents named Kirk and the Gorn. Kirk, a legendary Starfleet captain known for his daring adventures, and the Gorn, a reptilian alien species encountered by Kirk during his spacefaring days, had found themselves in a rather unexpected situation - they were now roommates in their golden years.
At first, Kirk and the Gorn were skeptical of each other. After all, their encounters in the past had been less than friendly. But as they spent more time together, they discovered a shared sense of humor and a mutual respect for their respective histories.
Every day, the duo would gather in the common room, regaling their fellow retirees with stories of their intergalactic escapades. Kirk would captivate the audience with tales of exploring new planets, battling Klingons, and outsmarting alien adversaries. The Gorn, on the other hand, would recount his own perspective of those encounters, shedding light on the complexities of their previous conflicts.
Their stories would often spark lively debates among the residents, turning the retirement home into a hub of excitement and imagination. It was as if the residents were transported to distant galaxies, experiencing the thrill of space exploration from the comfort of their armchairs.
As time went on, Kirk and the Gorn formed an unlikely friendship. They shared meals together, engaged in friendly competitions, and even organized movie nights where they would watch classic science fiction films. They discovered that despite their past differences, they had more in common than they could have ever imagined.
Their presence in the retirement home brought joy and inspiration to the other residents. KIRK OUT!

I realize that this is an old video, however out of all the spoofs/comedy sketches that William Shatner has done of himself relating to TOS this has to be the best one! All the fighting moves were accurate to the original episode "Arena", along with how time makes those same moves somewhat painful later in life. Very funny 🤣! Great comical tribute!

I have to say ot is impressive that Star Trek showrunners and game developers have taken the hokiest 60's costumed alien species and transformed it into a terrifying threat for the Federation. It demonstrates that sometimes a creature-concept exceeds its execution (and that we really do love lizard people).

I love the idea of a game about fighting the Gorn because in the original episode, the Gorn were depicted as only defending their territory from what they saw as an attempt to take over their space. The point of the episode was that the Gorn weren't big lizard monsters and what do we do? Make a game where they were big lizard monsters.

Then there is Strange New Worlds. I start out loving it, start to get disillusioned, go back to liking it, then they reprise the Gorns at the end of Season 1. It was either a blatant rip-off of 'Aliens', or an homage to 'Aliens'. (Kinda felt like a rip-off, but I am on the favorable side of riding that fence with ST:SNW) any way I thought that was going to be 'left behind' but they reintroduced them in the 2nd season cliffhanger. (Now they have the Gorn as Dangerous space venturing Aliens- IDK if I buy it?)
Anyway- I thought this ad was current (with Paramount trying to push the Gorn in SNW), I did not remember this game 10 Years ago.

They could have had Shatner thrown onto the couch. The original had an obvious cut so you could assume that a stunt man got thrown across the dirt, then they cut again as Kirk gets up.
