Typical of movies of this period, the "spooks" part of the plot is actually very short, with the bulk of the running time taken up by other short stories - the rich girl and her father, Harold's suicide attempts, and the drive to get to the house with the chicken gags.
Hello. I got a crack out of this flick. Found an 8mm projector ( not s8) in one of the attics - house - Mother side of the family. Propped it up, improvised screen & screened (!) it, making the living room briefly matinee for family. 9, 10 years old ...lights out and all. It was neat. Thank you.
Harold had a prop bomb blow up in his hand and he lost two fingers and his face was badly burned while this was being made. He recovered and after a lengthy pause, the film was completed and released in 1920. Also, Dee Lampton, who played the Butler, died of an appendicitis at the age of 20, he was in 55 films.
Way back in the sixties and seventies, my two lovely daughters loved Harold who was shown regularly on TV here in England. Always been a fan.Love Buster Keaton jujst as much. Kind regards.
@@ronaldstrange8981 ok ok so do you know both buster keaton and Harold lloyd so, you probably would be familiar with Charlie chaplin,Laurel and Hardy, Fatty arkbuckle...etc.

The scene where Harold jumps into the pond with the rock always cracks me up! 🤣
