    The difficult part with the lower price idea when it comes to used items is condition. One has a stain on the front, one a couple thread pulls, one missing a button. Its very hard to lower price match when the factors are limitless

      Yep not all used items are created equal and retail stopped doing price matching on new items long ago for a reason dies not take a genius to figure that out

    I've been selling on eBay for over 2 years and buying on eBay and Amazon for several years. I've seen Amazon show a cheaper price but never heard of showing the buyer "price match" You need to elaborate more on this topic. Where is this shown? I did a eBay search for a few random items and I don't see what you are saying.

    eBay is already in the data selling business. They were even before their acquisition of Terapeak in 2017.
    Data isn’t that valuable relative to other revenue sources. Data is ubiquitous and fairly open. However, it’s not nothing. For example: Reddit’s $200M 5 year deal with Ai companies amounts to a measly $60M a year. For comparison: Reddits about to pass $1B in annual ad revenue.
    Ebay does $10B annual revenue. And there’s really nothing “special” or exclusionary about what things cost on eBay. There’s plenty of marketplaces with access to that data. It’s all easily competed away.

      1000% anyone that's been doing reselling for more then 5 years knows this and why no one shouod be taking any advice from someone that has only beem doing this for a year or 2 in terms of long time resllers jride is still a newbie not a veteran and most importantly not a guru just someone with a phone and yt channel and is currently below standard on ebay

    And why do you think retail big box stores like Walmart target khols and all the others stop doing price matching because just like you said it was things that were done in the past without any thought behind it I'll let you speculate what retail chains stop doing this. Does not take a genius to understand it

    I don’t see how price matching ties to data sharing, consumer purchasing data is already there without it 🤷‍♂️ how does the price matching feature improve or support this?

    That push to "comparative shop" is fine IF and only IF all the item factors are exactly the same. for example of both items are NEW and unopened. If comparing just price for pre-owned items, then can AI decipher if one has a small whole, the age of the item, if any smell, if tag worn etc.,. This has good and bad results for the Seller and Buyer. Price is NOT the only factor, if the item is not listed as NEW, even then, there could be an expiration date factor, if product is a cream or vitamin.

    I think that to many people have pushed how easy reselling is on social media and now it is oversaturated and waaay harder to make a living at. To many "fake" (ingluencers) resellers that have brought way to many people into the game that are now scratching their heads going...WTH, I cannot sell anything.

    • @cadenblain8045

      It might be oversaturated now but people will realize that without harder and harder work, they wont be able to sustain this and will be less saturated in the future. In my opinion.

      I don’t think so. There are beginners in every single business and side hustle who quickly fall off and go to the next thing. That’s why my beginners guide video get 100,000s views while this will be lucky to get 10k The number of resellers will always fluctuate there are more then enough in demand items out there. The ones who find them will continue, the ones who don’t will drop off

    • @AC-fv7kt
      @AC-fv7kt 4 месяца назад

      @JrideFlips I mean I hear what you are saying but....there are so many fake resellers right now it's absurd. EBay is loosing buyers every year and gaining sellers....do the math. People just don't understand you are not making a living going to garage sales and thrifting. If those days ever existed, they are long gone.

    What data?

    • @johndough23
      @johndough23 4 месяца назад

      This is probably the biggest misconception going...the mere fact eBay collects seller "doing their job properly" data and then ranks accounts doing poorly proves that much. eBay collects little and what they have they cannot properly implement. Their VERO process is a total mess for example.
      Takes a week or more for changes to a promoted listing campaign to CHANGE. The list building form is not LISTENING. When was the last time you shopped for a T-Shirt using the descriptor "season"? or event? heck eBay cannot even allow the use of TEMPLATES on mobile. the EXACT PLACE you would really appreciate templates.
      Tech and Tech buzz almost never pans out. It's almost entirely boilerplate sizzle to pump stock prices. eBay is not selling anything.

    When this happens it will be the actual death of the reseller market. Eventually everybody will have a universal price and nobody will be able to source for lower than final value anymore. It's already been creeping in that direction for a couple years now
