A quote from his Wikipedia article:
"At the end of the engagement, York and his seven men marched their German prisoners back to the American lines. Upon returning to his unit, York reported to his brigade commander, Brigadier General Julian Robert Lindsey, who remarked: "Well York, I hear you have captured the whole German army." York replied: "No sir. I got only 132.""

He actually wasnt religious he lied on that paper😂his wife however is and "happy wife happy life" and also he survived being struck by lightning while he was on his way to kill man😂 thats when he essentially became religious and from what iv learned about her & my experience with her sides family their the side of families you wouldn't bother going to Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner to their house from what i was told she called his family not good people because they/we arent a religious family.🤷🏻‍♀️ hes my great grand uncle

Be like the 82nd? You mean a "Athletic Alcoholic"? Look up The Fat Electrician's short video on the 82nd and it's comment section ;-)
If you want more Sabaton History I suggest "Cliffs of Gallipoli"
Also a favorite quote form the movie Black Hawk Down "Once that first bullet goes past your head, politics and all that shit just goes right out the window."
    Have a good one.

It's important context that many ww1 Germans by the time Americans got involved were not always difficult to convince to surrender cause the war... really sucked. So it wasn't just fear of York, tho that was a factor, but also just an opportunity to not fight anymore

As a Swedish band, I appreciate how Sabaton has given attention to the USA contribution to World War 1 (The Lost Battalion, Devil Dogs, 82nd All the Way, Hellfighters). Sabaton has done more than any teacher I ever had (US military ops just aren't big part of WW1 curriculum for American kids). Most documentaries will give a token mention to the USA contribution. Thank You Sabaton!

as a kid i was lucky enough to talk with a old WW1 vet Battalion Sgt Maj Ed Schneider. 3/328 82nd Div the only Sgt Maj of the div to be WIA june 6th 1918. he would share the story "there i was crossing the field during the big push , when out of nowhere a lone Hun fighter shows up, everyone hits the dirt and here i was thinking how lucky i was to hid behind a lone bush , next thing i know i'am looking up at the sky as the hun bastard drops a lone bomb and it hits me . got me right in my ass and blew me over( he would lean over and point to his butt) "

There are generally 2 kinds of Sabaton song: the incredibly uplifting and the martially surreal. Example for the former is this song, and an example for the latter could be Price of a Mile or more likely Art of War or Unbreakable.
