I love this rifle. I am in the US and got it in .22 as my first PCP. I'm getting 32fpe with 21 grain pellets and it's accurate. The shrouded barrel does reduce a lot of noise. I took it off and shot it just to see and it's similar to a .22 Rimfire short. The stock needed a little finishing work since it's just stained unsealed wood so I rubbed it down with alcohol to remove excess stain then I gave it a teak oil finish.
2023 might be the year I get a PCP, and this one is one to consider, I really like the lines of the stock, and the shot count makes it a top contender.
This is the second video I’ve seen of this rifle and I must say I’m very impressed and I believe this rifle has come out at the right time just as Andy said due to the current financial climate we are living in right now. So much rifle for relatively little money considering what you are getting and this is definitely going to give other manufacturers a run for their money. Just one thing I’d like to see on it is a little more wood on the for-grip to hide a bit more of that cylinder, but apart from that it’s very impressive.
This is the first video that has seemingly raised the issue of the integrity of the presenter. We all know that Vector Air supply the majority of the goods reviewed. Which is good for us all as he gets to test lots of stuff. But I think that we all consider Andy reviews to be fair and unbiased. What VA do is maybe reactionary to the videos: Business-wise that is understandable; but they do need to careful that they don't bite the hand that feeds them. It's a fine line. I instructed for Porsche for six years, but left when I wasn't happy with product direction or process. We all have to have integrity.
A lot of guns are way overpriced, mainly by greed and spurred on by the media, and always justified by, "it's all metal construction", blar blar blar and so on. Humans are easily suckered into the overpriced is better, concept, that's how manufacturers can up the price, greed for better than your buddies is another.
I personally think it is overpriced for what it is. 30 shots for almost $500 is a lot. Kral and hatsan are cheaper or similarly priced with more shots and higher fpe.
Have you fitted a moderator, and does it work okay. I thought I read in a review it doesn’t work with one. Which I found strange as it is able to take one.
@@gordonspringate7500 Fitting moderators causes pellet clipping. SAK moderator bored out to 9.5mm on my .22 reduced the volume to nothing with no clipping. .177 there is no chance of fitting a moderator without clipping. The good news is the shroud works amazingly, better than any other gun I own that is moderated, even quieter than my Ruger 10/22 with subsonic ammunition
Bought a .22 Max here in South Africa. IT DOES NOT GROUP WHEN PUTTING A SILENCER ON IT. I tried FIVE different silencers with identical shotgun results. In my opinion there is misalignment in the barrel shroud nut / suppressor adaptor. Another SAn had identical results with 2 silencers.
Re the silencer problem, somebody mentioned putting yellow gas screw tape onto threads to take up the slack and align silencer with barrel!! I was a plumber back in the 60’s and remember this tape well, I think Srewfix stocks it!
Really really like this. Great review and was about to "pull the trigger" on one of these only to find the price has jumped up overnight. Not great when first-time buyers are looking to get into the sport but it is what it is I guess...
I REALLY want one of these. Simply can't justify it when I only see one rabbit in the yard every two weeks maybe... and the springer I have dispatches them very efficiently already. Gosh, what a nice package, though! Great review. thank you!
Tip for anyone trying to get tightest possible groups offset your scope so your aim point never disappears from the pellet hitting it. When you look at competitions they take single shots at multiple targets not the other way around . Once your getting consistent groups except occasional flyer if your not sorting then dope your scope back to centre. Also Vector Air want £700 for the kit
You can't get these for £400 as a kit, they are £499 for gun only. I have noticed that they have put a disclaimer saying you cannot use a silencer on it as well as causes problems with clipping.

Great to see "premium" features on a rifle at that price, and all metal magazines too ! Not enthusiastic about the thumbhole stock - It looks too easy to break with a slip, fall, or accidental knock, and the weight is more than I'd like, but that's just personal preferences. Give me one with a conventional stock and I'd be happy to pay the same amount, or maybe a little less if it was plastic.
I bought the airacuda max and although it was a very good looking rifle it leaked from the barrel from the start of owning it. Had to use mole grips and a cloth to remove the refill dust cap first time I was refilling. Sad really because I actually had a airacuda max that worked well with the moderator fitted. Pity the leaks let the rifle down. I am now stuck with a moderator and 2 magazines that are of no use at all. In the end i bought a HW100 and never looked back.
Great review as always. Pretty sharp looking gun. Only thing I could complain about is the travel distance for the bolt. A pellet is only 1/4 inch long, why is the bolt travel 5 or 6 inches? 🤔🤔
Would like to see the review on that Diana 54 pro red laminate in the back ground! Would be interested in how you cope with the dreaded "barrel droop" these come with,....?
