IMPORTANT PSA: With the removal of the 24 gear score lobbies, the new cap for normals is 124 gear score. For squire kits, follow exactly as the video shows. For reaching 124 gear score, some adaptation is required. The gear pieces and recommended perks will remain the same, the difference is that now we can upgrade them past their squire variant, and add some jewelry as we please. Prioritize the following: Movespeed rolls on boots, +additional true/physical damage on gloves, necklace, rings, and cape. +Max Health on Chest and Legs. Alternatively, for a budget setup, you can just bring in a blue or purple weapon and wear the squire kit shown in the video. Best of luck, Trozers
Love these videos, trying to a stacked low gear scode trio team together as i am new to the game. Are you planning on doing a low gear score barbarian video?
how do you counter high damage aim lock lightning bolt through walls, and druids flying through across a room 360 no scope in the air transform to bear then 1 tap you?
Fight them at a distance, preferably with longbow. Sorc is pretty useless at long range. Druid is only an issue in higher gear brackets. Bear get destroyed by ranged damage if you space correctly. Panther is harder to deal with but spear can two shot them. Shotgun skill also one shots panther. Hope this helps
@@trozers thanks for the reply, but I disagree about sorc he's still strong at range with all the aoe damage he has, and good druid players even in low gear score will jump across a room transform mid air to bear then one tap you and you don't have any chance to move away especially when cornered. I also don't like using shotgun perk. If you don't have aoe damage like ranger and fighter it's impossible to kill druids
@@mythcrafts I appreciate your comments. I've been playing a ton of Sorc in Arena. Ranger is the hardest matchup. I have to get close, land my lightning bolt then hide behind cover so he can't hit me while it casts. Then I have to windblast and firebolt several times until the ranger dies. 10 second and 6 second cooldowns each. That's best case scenario for me. All ranger has to do is hit 2-4 arrows and I'm dead. If he does that outside of my lightning bolt range, I'm screwed. As ranger, the only threat from a distance is the bolt and arrow, both long cooldowns, slow travel time, and telegraphed. I destroy Sorcs when I'm on Ranger. If you look at 3:52 , I am fighting the druid. This is how all my fights VS druid play out. All I do is keep space against bear and he can't hit me. Only panther can touch me, but I win with spear. Panther also dies to 2 arrows. Ranger when played correctly counters Druid. I hope the above information is helpful.
@@mythcrafts Sorry brother, but the short response to your comment: Skill issue. I have been Top 50 on Wizard, Warlock, and Rogue, with Sorcerer being my next class I will finish Top 50 with this season, I have done it all seasons except Season 2 (When I quit during the Multiclassing period, it ruined the game) by choice. I am incredibly familiar with all of the casting classes and am currently 150 Fame on my Sorcerer as of it's release. Sorcerer has absolutely no longrange, fast-travelling spells outside of the raw Fire Arrow for 30 damage (10 damage per arrow which can be dodged). This man told you that Ranger out-ranges Sorcerer and is one of its hardest counters (true), and you replied with "He's still strong at range with all the AoE damage he has"... Brother... the AoE you're talking about is Lightning Sphere, Vortex, or Lightning Vortex, 2/3 which knock you away from the enemy, and you have to be in MELEE range to be affected by ALL of them. That is not a ranged ability. I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what "at a RANGE" means here, or maybe in general. It does not mean "close enough to hit them with any weapon", it means "across the entire room because your bow has unlimited range and 99% of the spells do not". And then he tells you that Shotgun 1-shots Panthers and your response is "I don't like using Shotgun". Again, this is your skill issue and not wanting to take valid, correct advice from others who clearly have mastered these aspects of the game that YOU asked about. You received clear, valid, constructive input on how to handle these situations and you just said "Yeah, no" and blamed Druid movement for you being incapable of using Backstep on the Bear. Or even just walking right into the path of the chicken or panther long jump with your spear out (they cant transform into bear when you're on top of them, but Ranger can literally just walk away from any bear attack as long as you arent locking yourself into the attack animation that slows you down first. Again, skill issue, if you see the jump coming, just disengage backwards instead of trying to nock an arrow or prepare an attack). Also, if you got Lightning Bolted by a Sorcerer, you already misplayed and let him get too close. It is strong right now, but there is never a reason for you to be in a Sorcerer's spell range EVER as a Ranger. Sorcerer has like base 295 Movespeed in some of the best movement speed gear available in the Squire, and Ranger can reach over 310 Movement Speed with just some Squire gear Lightfoot boots. You always have the advantage and if you are getting hit by a Sorcerer, you let him get too close and made a mistake. It is that simple. If he Lightning Teleports, Backstep or Triple Shot immediately either escape his AoE or burst him down to 1-shot potential. A Sorcerer will not be 2-tapping you with a Longsword, Falchion+Crystal Ball hit and a Lightning Dash Teleport combined unless you've already taken damage. You will win that exchange every time with both classes at full HP and both playing properly. Again, Skill issue, and work on your positioning as Ranger if these are your issues. Positioning is key to Ranger and you clearly struggle with it.
Ty for the guide! Is this viable in solos? I can’t imagine playing without chase, this perk saved me a lot, especially vs rogues. Not a fan of low move speed ranger, but I guess I just need to get better of landing my shots lol. I still keep on playing with traps and 314ms in 24 lobbies.
Skin doesn't matter to much for ranger. Cat skin for dex can be nice, or orc for strength. Only use Lizard if you don't have the strength hood unlocked from the squire.
Hands down the best build with ranger is Survival bow + Windlass or Survival bow + Longbow. Spear drastically lowers ranger's damage and hybrids them to a degree that makes the fighter with crossbow the exact same but better stats and viability. Spear ranger is drastically underpowered. If you want to play spear, use fighter not ranger. ***** Reply Edit: Spear being weak in the hands of the fighter, doesnt make it strong in the hands of a ranger. The 7 damage you're advocating for doesnt make up for the fact that now you have 3 unused perk slots that do nothing for damage or survivability, as well as a complete lack of armor, in a patch where armor is significantly stronger than movement speed. Your big response being "but backstep...". Even with the double uses backstep was buffed to, its still comparable, if not worse than sprint overall. Backstep requires a jump prior to use to get its full effectiveness, as well as to know there isnt any form of upwards slope behind you, cancelling your backstep. Backstep is higher skill floor than sprint, and even at higher skills, is almost never worth the tradeoff of no armor, 3 missing perk slots, and the lack of strength gear obtainable to leather/cloth. Spear Mastery on ranger is ALWAYS a waste. It lowers your bow/crossbow damage and requires you put yourself in a melee position where you can be outgeared/outclassed by classes made to beat you in close ups. If spear mastery was buffed to 10 damage (a 45% damage increase) I would STILL say that it is a waste of a perk slot, encouraging you to hybrid your character at a severe detriment to your strengths as an archer. Also i forgot to mention the ranger's base stats, but I think i already overwhelmingly made my point.
Spear is one of fighters weakest weapons. There's a reason spear fighter is rarely seen. Ranger backstep is incredible with spear if used correctly. The free 7 phys power with the spear perk is an added bonus for ranger.

I was looking for your ranger video, i'm glad you made it! I will be using this today.
Thank you for the video! I main ranger and have ~120 hours playing with the recurve bow, but you've convinced me to give crossbow a try!
How can you only have 2,5K Subs dude, this is so helpfull
informative, quick, and simple guide. Thank you!
You're welcome, glad you found it helpful!
Idea for video: Top 10 best squire kits for new players (all different classes)
Glad to have u back

can you do this for all classes? i'd love to see an updated bard one(if there is a better build for low gear), a barbarian one and fighter one
All guides are still currently relevant for today. Sorcerer, Cleric, and Barbarian will likely come out in the near future
How to make ranger OP? Play ranger. Done. You are now OP.

Yes, movespeed is even more important in solos. You're right that chase is really good in solos to deal with rogues.
Would you reommend bow or crossbow ? Please let me know
Crossbow is stronger. Bow is good if you can find an upgraded bow in raid because the starter bows are quite weak.
so the survival bow isnt good in squire gear?
Survival bow is much better when you have +true damage on necklace, rings, cape, and gloves. Which you can't have in squire gear.
@ ah got it, thanks!
hey nice video, is crossbow build still the best even in higher tier loobbies ? thanks:)
I'd say they're about equal with gear on. Still very strong in high gear lobbies.

Do a mid (-124)and then a high (225+) range for bard
Could you buy me and my little brother the legendary Edition?
Please do 124s much love 💗💗💗

If you ever try to melee a ranger with spear backstep it's insane. It's so slept on. It's not just spear it's the combo
