DIY Jellyfish Costume: Halloween | Costume Party

Hi guys!
These are the materials needed:
1. Clear bubble umbrella: a.co/aK6WQtE
2. Tape: regular/duck tape: purchase at local store
3. Scissors: purchase at local store
4. Iridescent plastic/foil fringe: a.co/2Uqmkf4
5. Blue and white LED Neon wire lights: a.co/itAMU2E
6. Blue and purple fairy lights: a.co/4uHTLw1
7. Batteries :purchase at local store
8. Grocery bags
STEPS:
-Cut out the logos and handles of grocery bags
-Line the inside of your jelly fish (umbrella) with bags by taping them onto the umbrella.
-Arrange the fairy lights battery packs around the wires (rods) that help the umbrella open & close. You can either tape the battery pack onto the umbrella, or just wrap the wire around the rods so that packs end up hanging off the rods.
-Tape fairy lights around the jelly fish with tape.
-Tape the neon lights remote wire on the handle of umbrella. *Be mindful of closing and opening umbrella button.
-Stretch out each Neon string light (tentacle) to edge of umbrella.
-Have fun!

How are you light for the tentacles in strips? Did you cut them? I was searching for them on amazon, but all I could find were super long ones that won’t work for the tentacles because they are just one loooooong peice of light.

It depends on what you use to secure everything inside "jelly fish". I used heavy duty duck tape so everything stayed in place! I basically went to a festival for about 6 hours and everything turned out well. It can get a little heavy after a while- so yes, the ability to close it is a must. Just make sure you use heavy duty clear duck tape (:
