Doesn't work for Br^2 since there are 14val. electrons, the bond order = 1, unlike the diagram that shows 3... That is, if you completely work out the numbers...

What about NO3- and NH3? You only did a linear one. Does it not make sense after all? Only linear molecules work for this trick.
using this graph method can u tell how to calculate the bond order or benzene...
there is difference between energy level diagram of molecules which have 14 or less than 14 and more than 14 electrons
