    What about NO3- and NH3? You only did a linear one. Does it not make sense after all? Only linear molecules work for this trick.

    there is difference between energy level diagram of molecules which have 14 or less than 14 and more than 14 electrons

    Doesn't work for Br^2 since there are 14val. electrons, the bond order = 1, unlike the diagram that shows 3...
    That is, if you completely work out the numbers...

      Mid NuLL Br2 does have 14 valence electrons, but the graph helps for TOTAL NO. of electrons!!!
