@@GodmadeConscious Nah, they didnt. Which sometimes I think is better for people like us. Funny thing I was watching “Women Who Rock” and saying to myself that she (Johnette) owns everyone on that fuckin show except of course Ann Wilson. Ann is a very special animal.
seriously can't believe this is on you tube!! Want...to...cry! I lived in Germany in 92 and saw them. I had front row and she even let us on the tour bus after the show. I have all their cds and still love their music!!!
Somewhere between rock and roll’s golden age, and the pasteurized plastic rock music became, was this band. Johnette’s thundering vocals, the blistering guitar work, and the overall dynamic this trio had was so so so good. Honestly the most underrated band of all time. Bloodletting will always be my favorite rock album.
Johnette was top tier talent. I saw CB many times live, including this WIL tour ‘92. Red wine onstage, and Johnette blew up at a kid in the front row who whistled at her. Truly scary rant in his face. I’ve seen her throw her bass, and walk offstage cutting sets short. I’ve met her three times, and she couldn’t have been warmer and more endearing. Her personality has long been very hot-cold, and between that, and her choice to NOT be more commercial and touring harder than when IRS was promoting “Bloodleting”, her career has had less glory than what her talent deserves. She’s a world class, intuitive, emotional singer songwriter. Even that aspect of who Johnette is gets overlooked from the first wave 80’s-‘90’s “alternative rock” crowd.
I saw them Akron Ohio, fairly small venue, there is absolutely nothing like concrete blonde!!! Missed them n googled it n glad I did. Best to an incredible band!!!
Saw them on this tour in San Francisco at the Warfield. Took my girlfriend at the time. Her first real rock concert. We’ve been married since 1997. Still love Johnette and Concrete Blonde. Really wish I could play guitar like James.
@@C0LD-_-D3V1L we were a whole group of people going around the houses and your dad took my keith richards poster.. promisinig to send me in return some merch from concrete blonde..he never did ...
Remember their first tour to Australia..really gave us a preview of the power trio and vocal gymnastics that Johnette would become legendary for. They loved us down under and came back quite a fair bit into the 90s and when they reformed in the early 2000s.

I used to run FOH sound for various bands and was with a rock outfit that opened up for a band that was traveling around supporting their first promoted album. They came in did their sound check and played some rather slow sounding tunes we thought they sounded a lot different than us....after they started their set the shyte hit the fan and I was beat down by the end...they weren't still in Hollywood they were on the loose. They closed the set with an encore of The Animals jam "it's my life and i'll do what i want" that should have been recorded for the Smithsonian
marcia scott I do not believe Johnette would have been so capable of accomplishing all that she has if she was heavily strung out on Heroine. Know any Heroine addicts? Not typically a drug done successfully on the recreational level. It's all or nothing with that shit.
What are you talking about? Heroine! Are you kidding. She would barely touch weed and could not hold down a glass of wine without puking. You have no idea what you are on about, mate! You are a troll. I am the singer and I know exactly what I did and when. That was handlers who worked me hard. I had a day job and this singing song writing. So, Marcia, get your facts straight before you spread false propaganda about me.
Do NOT believe anything you hear & only half of what you see! If I were you, I’d apologize for assuming anything that did not come directly from her mouth to your ears! I’d love for you to delete your story completely and write an open apology to J~ Napolitano on all the aforementioned social media sites! I’m just suggesting that you would be safer deleting your comment. Trust me on that! Your understanding is a Flat Out MISUNDERSTANDING AND NO WHERE NEAR THE TRUTH. She does have a lot of patience but if she sees this she will probably tell you in an extremely uncensored way to keep your understanding regarding her to yourself! K~
She's so good it causes me physical pain. Can't explain it but it's true.
@TheArtofGuitar I know what you mean
She is legit one of the best leads ever. Ever. When she rolls into Joey, the audience has no idea what they're in for.
Johnette, for me, is the best singer of the universe. God, I love her voice. I love her so mutch.
Absolutely agree.
The best
All while playing the bass too. Sure do miss them.
Let's give mad props to the Man on guitar too.

Johnnette is the Stevie Nicks of my generation. So glad I saw you live.
One of the most criminally underated and unappreciated bands EVER.

All true ! I agree
wonderful tribute and you are right, she is top tier.
Joey brings tears to my eyes to this day. So powerful. Thats a true power ballad if it’s even in that realm. Far above it in my eyes and ears.
Yep, puts a tear in my eye too....I use to cry til I was dry.....now I wonder what the he'll was wrong with me!
This band is a classic. Fantastic music & top vocals. Concrete Blond rock.

Love that driving beat. Great band
I can't love this enough. Power, passion, poise, crushing subtlety, depth beyond compare. So Very under rated. Thank you so much Johnette.
Wow, what a musician!
I saw her on this tour.. we got to talk... i ended up partying with her drummer... a night to remember... munich 1992

They were supporting Wall of Voodoo. What a line up.

Thanks for this. Johnette Rocks and Everybody knows it. Thanks, again. :)
Glad I saw you live during Concrete Blonde's heyday. Johnette, you rock.

Hey I'm from Minneapolis! Fun to have another person near here that loves them too!!
Beautiful.
You know,if they were new today, not changing a thing, they would be massive.
It is good to see live music real so fine :)

Why Don't You See Me? By Concrete Blonde
(J. Napolitano):
“When you lay down
Do you hear sounds?
Does the silence have a voice?
What does it say?
What do you hear?
What does it whisper in your ear?
Why don't you hear me?
Why don't you hear me?
When you get up, into the light
When you come up out of your night
What do you see?
And do you see?
Or have you lost your sense of sight?
Why don't you see me?
Why don't you see me?
Why don't you see me?
Why don't you see me?
What do you think?
What do you feel?
'Cause this is feeling very real
And if you feel
Why can't you say?
Give me a little demonstration
Can't you feel me?
Why don't you feel me?
Why don't you feel me?
Why don't you feel me?
Are you in love?
Are you in pain?
Are they together and the same?
Where do you go?
Who do you know?
Are you that lonely ghost on the side?
Why don't you see me?
Why don't you free me?
Why don't you feel me?
Why don't you feel me?
Why can't you hear me?
Why can't you hear me?
Why don't you see me?
Why don't you see me?”
