Lance Mindheim's Downtown Miami Spur in HO Scale

Originally uploaded to M.B. Klein's RUclips Channel in 2017. This series of videos aims to preserve the layout tours I filmed while working with M.B. Klein for the benefit of their owners and all who enjoyed watching them. Lance Mindheim is an acclaimed modeler, professional layout builder, and frequent magazine columnist. His downtown Miami Spur layout recreates the CSX line of the same name with exacting detail. The layout is still operational as of 2024.

As a Brit who's visited Florida occasionally, this really captures the essence. I loved the posters in Spanish, and the wall proclaiming 'Jesus saves'. (I have some cherished graffiti photos of my own that I hope will make it onto a layout one day.) And running at prototypical speeds ... if only every model railway (sorry, railroad) video did this.
