For the Česká Hospoda that is not bread in the basket , but tipe of dumpling called 'kinuty knedlík",is mostly uses for stews and gravy. But if you have a leftover dumpling people cut it up and saute it on butter and scramble it with eggs as a breakfast.
The walls in the restaurants say hi, and good eating and enjoy. Love this show.

This series has been my favorite in a while. Calvin is literaly amazing, and I finde myself coming back and rewatching these episodes.
Those crustless bread slices were actually Czech Knedliki which are a traditional dumpling which are served with pretty much everything that has a sauce / gravy !

The technique Mr. Ha does with the goat stomach with hot stone is commonly used technique in Mongolian cuisine, Boodeg is an example of this involving an entire sheep with it's bones, organ and meat taken out and vegetables, hot stones and the meat is put back in. The stone cook the meat and the bag of sheep is left on hot charcoal to cook.

That Czech dish looks like bowl of meaty noods covered in tomato sauce! As someone raised on Chef Boyardee lunches, I feel a sickly nostalgia rising within me as I recall the metallic flavored ketchup sauce that came with the beef raviolis.
I'm sure that beef tripes drenched in a rich, beef broth sauce, taste better than that mass produced, canned garbage of my youth. I'm honestly jealous. As a meat enthusiast and former trapper/small game hunter, I'm well accustomed to "gamey" flavors, and this looks like it would rank highly on the barnyard smell scale. There are a lot of Vietnamese people who used to live in Czechoslovakia before... They brought your culture back to Vietnam, i have worked with a Vietnamese guy who is Czech honor ambassador in Saigon, he owned a Pilsner Urquell beer restaurant named Hoa Vien Brauhaus...

@@dungareekogi2442 well yea stomach soup like this is a thing(even the reciepe seems accurate), we just dont eat it with dumplings(they are reserved for stews like Gulaš, svíčková etc.) in a pub you would get bread or rohlík with the soup (white bread dough rolled in to "dong" shape then baked :)) The reciepe itself is OLD i guess its from times before the revolution when food was scarce cause now almost nobody wants to eat stuff like that...and even now its food for the "poor". It is hard to prepare it well tbh, the gamey smell/taste is terrible if done wrong.

9:42 Little correction. It isn't bread but more like dumpling. You usually serve it steamed on same plate like tripe soup. And it is not exactly drinking snack. I never been in any bar where they would serve it. It's normal dish serve in restaurants and family tables and is one of traditional Czech dishes. Still, I never expected see a Czech restaurant in Vietnam. Love your videos and vibe
