Pundits like to build talking points with incomplete information. Yes, City, Arsenal and Liverpool among them have bought four players in this transfer market and Chelsea have bought more; BUT being able to make just four signings is the culmination of a VERY LONG PROCESS of evolution at those three clubs. They have all been through very long winding roads and curves of signing players and coaches to get them to where they are now today. The Roman era is over; ClearLake didn't buy ChelseaFC to keep using the kind of template and players that Roman used. They have the right to do things another way; ChelseaFC is at the beginning of a new process and it looks messy right now, but give it time and the benefit of doubt.

I know they’re just chasing a story here. Did any one of the pundits think that Sterling is somehow going to show up this season? He’s had 2 full seasons and he’s been frustrating to watch. Yes there were a couple of matches he won for Chelsea but he was bought to do way more than that. Plus he’s their highest earner. Any sane club would move him on. Throughout the summer, the only party saying he’s staying at Chelsea is Sterling’s. What more to debate?

the problem is, raheem only told he's not needed 2 wks before the transfer window close. if they had planned and told him earlier, they wouldn't have this conversation. something might have happen between that time period. In any case, sometimes deals are made in the last min. so, who knows?

What the hell? The same manager that said that Chillwell was not in his plans in pre season? Come on man. Don’t be stupid.
Sterling wasn’t given any information that he wasn’t invoked in the managers plan and the worst part is never mind what you think of Sterling as a player.
Where is a player supposed in the end of august? Sterling has no time to find a new club or even get into a squad when the season starts. They should had given him the opportunity to find another club and not wait to the first of game of the season to tell him that Sterling isn’t a apart of the clubs plans…
This is madness and to back or make sense of this is messed up

The reason a player is not in a manager's plan is because the player has not proofed himself to be indispensable. Raheem have himself to blame, he had all the time, privilege, and environment to show his quality and ability. Just showing up and be unstable in his performances is not worth the price paid for him and his weekly wages especially as a senior player.

Clearlake and Bohley made huge mistakes in paying over the odds for Fernandez, Caciedo, Cucerella, Wes Fofana, mudryck and Lavia. That’s why Gallagher and Trevor Chalobah and co are having to be sold to make up the money on those mistakes. I reckon the reason Poch decided to go was they told him that Gallagher and chalobah were being sold no matter what and he didn’t want to be part of that. Anyway let’s hope they get over this period of craziness and settle down and start getting structure under under way

The female journalist was spot on The other two were trying to make it look (quoting some article from a newspaper) that Chelsea know what they are doing. In 2022 they agreed to sign Sterling with a wage of 300,000 a week. Now they make him train with the reserves and don't want him. Well nobody is crazy enough to give that wage to Sterling when he is clearly a declining star. His best years are behind him and even at his best he was inconsistent. The best option, if Sterling is to leave, is for Chelsea to continue paying half or even two-thirds of Sterling wages while he plays somewhere else. Mind you if I managed a club I still would not pay 100,000 a week to Sterling at this stage in his career and if I was Sterling I would not leave unless I had the same wage given to me.
