Super Mario Party felt like a practice game for ND Cube and Mario Party Superstars felt like a test run. And Jamboree looks like they finally got their footing!
I know Right!? They gave us the Best of Super Mario Party with fun looking mingames and a great roster. And the Best of Superstars with Great Gameplay and Fun Boards with features. The best of what they did with their last 2 games. This is what The first super Mario Party should've been.
Mario Party is the only videogame I can send a trailer for to my parents and get them excited. Despite the youngest member in our household being 22, we still play Mario Party for family game nights.

During the trailer, the part where we have the "Hero" characters on the top of the screen and "Villain/Enemy" characters on the bottom of the screen, Ninji is the only character absent (With bowser being there instead). I'd imagine that cutscene is likely from the beginning of the game, with Ninji being absent presumably due to being an unlockable character. Means that there may be more characters aside from who has been revealed.
There are two bowsers, the real one being the playable one and the giant glowy one being a clone made by kamek! You can even see the glowy PlayStation symbols around the giant bowser! Please pin this comment! More people need to know about this!
@@DerNeik The Bowser shown on the board and as an enemy in minigames always has a purple glow. Since Kamek is the host, this most likely means Bowser is a playable character and board Bowser is one of Kamek's fakes.

I think there are two Bowsers. In the shot where it shows the retro boards, you can Bowser as one of the 4 players at the start in the Mario Rainbow Castle photo. I think the Purple Bowser is an alternative one, like a Neo Bowser or something.
I really hope Koopathalon is playable offline. It looks extremely similar to the Coinathalon mode in Mario Party Star Rush, which was one of the best side modes in the series imo. That was offline, so it'd suck is this wasn't also.
Really great job on this write up! Biggest thing I’m hyped for is the change from stars costing 10 coins in Super back to 20! Coin economy should be meaningful again
I assume the exclemation mark item is a warp box from Super Mario 3D Land, so it probably either teleports you to random space or it works like items from previous games that switch your position with another player
The ! item Toadette has is a Warp Box, previously seen in Mario Party: Star Rush on the 3DS. In that game, it allows you to teleport to another player.
few things I noticed about the game. 1. this game seems to be a mix of both the Nintendo switch Mario party's. 2. they made sure the bowser on the boards looks different to how he looks when he's playable so I'm pretty sure he is still playable in every part of this game. 3. ninji wasn't in (what I'm assuming to be) the starting cut scene so I think he will be unlockable and not in the starting roster. 4. the unlucky spaces were next to lucky spaces so i think when you land on a lucky space it will turn into an unlucky space. 5. there is a lot of rhythm games shown so the rhythm mode from "super Mario party" will probably return. 6. we went from "super Mario party" to "Mario party" and back to "super Mario party" implying they are two different franchises and as "jamboree" doesn't have grid boards i think we will have the return of personal dice blocks. (don't know if there will be a return of dace 1-6 dice or if we will keep the 1-10 dice we know and love)
@Kircheis17 unless if they bring dlc for it I don't think it will happen unfortunately, we should still get a 2v2 mode but it will probably be the same as any other mario party
How can you say Bowser is not playable, but then he's clearly in the boards and mini games? On a Mario's Rainbow Castle shot, which clearly has Bowser.
I just hope that for this game, they finally give the characters new losing animations instead of reusing the same ones from Mario Party 10 again. It would be cool to see all the characters react differently to losing a minigame than just sitting sadly on the ground as in 10, Super, and Superstars.
Jamboree NEEDS DLC. Yes it has a lot of content (hyped Toadette and Toad are finally playable again) but more boards and mini game packs are something I'd definitely open my wallet for
For Western Land, they changed the lay-out a little bit. You can see it on the right side of the board, whereas in the N64 version, you can go down below by the left side (with a skeleton key) or Right side (tracks). Now you can go only by tracks, but go up via the Skeleton key. Also, they teared down the Koopa Banks on this one, which is sad, cause I did like 'em. And on another note: I SAW MOOMOO'S! 😍
I really hope Pauline is playable. I was very disappointed when she was nowhere to be seen once again. It’s always Mario Party that leaves her out for some reason…
Don’t worry, there’s still speculation for the 22nd character, and we believe that this character will appear in the good guys section of the character selection screen, this could be Pauline, we’ll find out when the next trailer comes out.
I WISH they bring back the hotel board from Mario party 8 someday. It was so unique as stars were going all over the place XD and I love going back to Mario party 8 just for that board
The 2 things I am most excited for in Super Mario Party Jamboree are that Toadette is playable again and that Mario’s Rainbow Castle is back. Bowser is playable in Super Mario Party Jamboree. The Bowser of the Bowser Spaces and board gimmicks is created by Kamek. Other playable characters should include Blooper, Hammer Bro, Dry Bones, Diddy Kong, Pauline, Pom Pom, and Boom Boom.
The box with the exclamation mark seems to be the one from Mario 3D Land and 3D World, which I could be assuming that it swap places with other players in the board.
my guess for the "!" item is a possible redesign of the rare hidden block item, where when played you get a hidden block cutscene w/ a chance for coins or a star. If not, maybe it triggers the event spaces on the board (eg changing the day/night for horror land), I feel like that could present some interesting strategies.

But here the footage is clearly not from partner mode (and we dont even know if it will return). It was also in super mario 3d land/world where it would teleport you to other location. So it will be something that teleports you somewhere. My guess is it teleports you either to a specific location or maybe a random spot.

This Mario Party feels like NDcube is taking what they learned from Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars. Hopefully it turns out has fun has it's looking from the trailer.
The biggest disappointment here is the high potential lack of character specific dice. Those were my absolute favorite inclusion to Super Mario Party, and largely the reason why I came back to the series.
@@triumphfork9268 Eh .. It was a fantastic formula, just needed more content. The dice was a great way to give reason to choose a character beyond surface level. Also it gives reason to go for specific partners when you have the opportunity.

One thing I’m hoping isn’t complete yet is the characters icons during the game. They’ve stuck with simplistic grey look and I miss the personality the old games had in every detail of the game (example landing on a red space would turn your characters icon red)
The Item that Toadette was holding, were in supermario party but in the 2v2 mode. It was an item were u could warp to ur tm8. I guess u can tp to a player or something.

Super Mario party was a step in the right direction after a few miss step, and Mario party superstars take a bigger step to the party roots. Super Mario party jamboree seems to combine these two together to a big game.
My theory is that if you play as bowser, and have to have an interaction with a bowser space or bowser on his board, you’ll be interacting with an illusion or something like that probably created by kamek.
I think the most important thing to me at least is a long time Mario party player is that the boards look like they are big again instead of the very small and shrunk size of super Mario party and I felt like Meijer party superstars was a step in the right direction the boards there are also felt a little small to me, so the fact that we have both more boards, but they all look or least most look fairly large is a great improvement to the formula. I personally kind of hope they make DLC for this one and add an additional board and maybe like 10 new mini games and a character or two every so often to the game has like for five or 10 bucks. I would buy a new board with new mini games and extra playable characters every so often and I’d be perfectly fine with that because this is like a family game. We pull out all the time to play .
Amateurs If you we really good at looking for secrets, youd know that bowser is playable on marios rainbow catsle despite there being a gaint bowser present
i'm not really that favorable of motion control mini games so my biggest hope for this new mario party game is an option to have button controls for the motion control games. As an example that one mini game where you balance that golf course with the joy con to get the ball in the hole instead with button controls you just use the analog stick and it does the same thing. I think something like this would be really nice for people like me who don't like motion control mini games.

Any idea if the partner mode comes back? Playing in teams of 2v2 and freely walking on the maps with the dice roll was so fun.

My theory is that if you play as bowser, and have to have an interaction with a bowser space or bowser on his board, you’ll be interacting with an illusion or something like that probably created by kamek.
Roll 'em Raceway better be careful; cars are about as triggering to Mario Party fans as stickers are to Paper Mario fans...

I think the most important thing to me at least is a long time Mario party player is that the boards look like they are big again instead of the very small and shrunk size of super Mario party and I felt like Meijer party superstars was a step in the right direction the boards there are also felt a little small to me, so the fact that we have both more boards, but they all look or least most look fairly large is a great improvement to the formula.
I personally kind of hope they make DLC for this one and add an additional board and maybe like 10 new mini games and a character or two every so often to the game has like for five or 10 bucks. I would buy a new board with new mini games and extra playable characters every so often and I’d be perfectly fine with that because this is like a family game. We pull out all the time to play .

Love the inclusion of retro maps but I hope they’ll begin to include GameCube era maps if they do dlc or in the next game after this

If you we really good at looking for secrets, youd know that bowser is playable on marios rainbow catsle despite there being a gaint bowser present
The blue shell is from The legend of Zelda: A links past i think. to upgrade the sword.
Besides the maps i think that there has to be a good (or perfect) balance with the powerups..
I would pay so much for ever board and minigame to be remastered in one game. Mostly the gamecube ones.
Damn wish they brought back my 2 favourite characters blooper and kamek they only got to be in a single game
i'm not really that favorable of motion control mini games so my biggest hope for this new mario party game is an option to have button controls for the motion control games. As an example that one mini game where you balance that golf course with the joy con to get the ball in the hole instead with button controls you just use the analog stick and it does the same thing. I think something like this would be really nice for people like me who don't like motion control mini games.
