I'm a Black girl who grew up in Compton CA and yet grew up eating Korean food and snack due to having a Korean man as a close neighbor that had a store around the corner from our house that had me, my siblings and my cousins calling him "samcheon" when I was growing up.and His mom called us her grandkids. And they would always give us Korean snacks and teach us some Korean words...... We always had good food to eat lol
Don't live in Compton anymore but this made me miss them and now I wanna check up on them ❤️ brought back warm memories with this food

To clarify, kimbap/gimbap contains no raw fish and thus is not a'sushi'. Everything inside has been cooked or seasoned, and the rice has not been marinated in rice vinegar.
I mean technically sushi isn't raw fish either. It can be cooked. Sashimi is raw fish only.

This was cute! It was a shame they weren't able to get the most authentic versions for a couple of these (like the hotteok, the gimbap and the 붕어빵) but as a Korean person I enjoyed seeing how they each enjoyed different things. Who knew egg bread would be the most popular!

too bad you gave them cold hoddeok (hotteok) and cold booneubbang (red bean goldfish pastry). Those need to be eaten hot and crispy with gooey hot sweetness inside. The bread part looked too dry, uncrispy, and blergh.

Aw man I was kind of sad that they got the frozen versions of hotteok and bungeoppang. If u go to the back of a lot of Korean grocery stores, they sell the fresh versions for like $2. Literally, 100x better. If you've ever seen the Korean Englishman, his videos are so authentic and he pronounces everything correctly as well!

If you enjoyed people discovering Korean food I would highly recommend the channel Korean Englishman. They show lots of people trying all types of Korean food and drink and experiences. All prepared fresh. I've literally gone from knowing nothing about Korean foods to be very keen to try so many different Korean foods, especially the Korean BBQ.

I'm Korean,Gimbap(Kimbap) is just "Gimbap(Kimbap)". It's not a Korean sushi roll. Korean sushi roll and Gimbap(Kimbap) is completely different foods. So Please call just "Gimbap(Kimbap)".
