MOTU Orginis is one of my modern toylines. They retained so many lovely elements of their vintage cousins but added so much more. Thanks for this great deep dive guys!
That's an awesome Skeletor cosplay! You really gotta hand it to the vintage designs, their designs and playability are still solid 40 years later with just a little update on articulation and engineering.
Another wonderful video my friend, and done so well in your unique styling. A great comparison, as I have almost no vintage figures. Seeing how my Origins figures compare and capture the spirit of the vintage was great to see.
You guys have the power. Great start to Iconicon. Origins is the way a modern update should be done, seamless and respectful to the classic toyline but strong enough to make changes where needed. I bought that Orko figure after Analog toys reviewed it. It's outstanding. Again, great video guys!
I love this. I review GI Joe Classified figures on my channel and because I have such a big O-Ring collection I compare them. I don’t have any original MOTU figures but collect Origins so seeing a video that compares them is great, I love seeing how close they are to each other 💪🏼
Brilliant video guys!! Have never actually held an Origins figure so great to see the comparisons 👍Vintage castle is hard to beat! Nice one Chris & Scuba! Loved the special effects 🤘
Oh heck yes boys!!!!!! What a start to iconicon!!!! Loving MOTU recently, vintage and origins!!! Vintage will always win for me, but the origins line is superb, totally crushed it, and has allowed people like me to have these figures on that beautiful cardback. Awesome watch boys 👏 👏👏
Have been considering collecting the vintage for awhile , but that origins look so good I think I’d go there instead. I think the vintage greyskull has so much more character with the paint apps. Thanks for being a great start to Iconicon! 👍👍👍
Vintage had been the toyline I was investing the most money and time into back in the day…and it‘s probably the same again with Origins. Origins is kind of a homage and rejuvenation of Vintage, so imho there is no „Vintage vs“ Origins. It‘s a: „Long live MotU!“ Thanks for the vid, guys, and for another great blast from the past.
This is one of my favorite toy lines. Vintage MOTU will always have a special place in my heart but I can't say anything bad about origins. There great. This video was well done.
A superb mini documentary by Chris and Scuba Pete, for the Chasing80sToys channel. I'm sure this Premiere will make everyone run out and buy both vintage Masters Of The Universe figures and the new MOTU Origins figures. :)
New to the channel, awesome!! Cool that the European comics were multilingual. Getting the origins has been the closest thing to being a kid again❤️great video👍🏽
Yeah!!!! Lucy and I sat up late and watched this freaking awesome video! She was so giddy when you said her name! 🤣🤣 There's no other toy line (I can think of) that combines vintage and modern so flawlessly I love both modern and vintage although Origins creeps forward forward for me ( shush! Don't tell anybody!) Great video lads!
Great video. I’m really enjoying the Origins line. It makes these cool figures vintage style accessible to everyone. I’ve picked up a few 80’s figures at garage sale and while out thrifting.
It's one of the modern toylines based on the vintage line up that is still fun enough to collect for good prices. Hope it stays that way. Thanks so much for watching.
One correction. Land shark vintage would also chomp as you roll it if you put downward pressure to slightly sink the wheel as it rolled. I also want to point out that one thing I was dissatisfied with on Origins was that the sculpts are softer and not as crisp all around. There are more details on the vintage line.
I live in Sweden and unfortunately some figures are really hard to find. I see that USA already has Clawful, Leech, Mantenna, Grizzlor, Ninjor, Triclpps, Trap-Jaw. Are these coming to Europe at a later stage or have I already missed the boat?
They are yet to show up overhere in the Netherlands too. Trapjaw, Ninjor and Tri-Klops where part of earlier waves. But the rest is still to come to Europe I hope
well the states dont have clawful or leech or mantenna, grizzlor yet, those are specialty finds and most likely came from online, in stores its hard finding these figures. it seems its becoming more of an online retail.
Love the Origins line, but finding them in brick-and-mortar stores here in the US is hit-or-miss. You may find a handful of figures and a couple playsets on the shelves, but they're gone pretty quick and hardly ever re-stocked.
Good point. Finding them overhere isn't easy. Non of our regular retailers have them in my country. Just a handful of vintage toy sellers import them. But it's a great line indeed. Thanks for watching 👍
This was a nearly perfect reboot. One thing I really like about Origins is the plastic they use. Not sure why but it really reminds me of the past-especially from the legs. It just feels good in your hands. Invites it to play with. Grayskull was also the best play I’ve ever had. I wish I knew what ever happened to it. Origins one is awesome with everything. Just kind of misses the mark on the front imo. But geez they could make something like that and vehicles for way under $100…what a novel concept.
Original Man at Arms didn't have a moustache because the toys came first, and the moustache was something that Filmation added on along with a considerable number of their alterations. Zoar was not the sorceress in original mini-comic canon, the sorceress back then was a green skinned Teela, before Filmation changed it all. There was no Prince Adam secret identity, or Orko for example either. I much prefer the pre-Filmatioj canon.
have to say the original figures had more better details compared to origins except for orko, i think the new origins one is way better. i miss the swinging action the original toys had, especially you miss it for characters like fisto which his figure had no swinging action. then with roboto they took out gears, so its cheapened a bit. i do say with the origins line tho that it is nice to have articulation and with the removable limbs is kind of cool. as well as new lines added to the origins line with the wwe collaboration as well as Sun man being part of the series.
They both have there strong points and flaws but overall two strong lines. Agreed you miss the springloaded action feature especially with Fisto and Jitsu. Thx for watching and your comment👍
Could be the gripping hand is a bit out of shape. Sometimes it can be fixed with a little bit of carefully heating and bringing it back in its original tight gripping position. Or the axe might have some wear from over the years.
@Chasing80sToys - Cosplay Music Toys I was thinking because the plastic is getting older, it seaps out some of the chemicals, and it's causing it to be slipery??
What up Chasing Toys I like all kinds of toys and grew up with 80s toys I do all sort of Livestreams and toy hunt uploads I just subbed and smashed the balls out of the like

Most welcome. Thanks for watching 👍☺️
This was a fantastic look at vintage MOTU vs MOTU Origins. Great job guys🏆
Cheers ☺️🙏👍
Excellent job on this MOTU collaboration. I really enjoyed seeing the comparisons and hearing your personal views.
Thanks so much my friend☺️👍
Thanks so much my friend☺️👍

So true. And thanks so much for the compliment 🙏👍
Great video guys, well done!
Cheers mate🙏

Cheers mate. The Origins capture that 80s vibe of the vintage but without some of the flaws.

Thanks so much. 👍 Origins does so much right. Looking foward to what is still to come.
I love this. I review GI Joe Classified figures on my channel and because I have such a big O-Ring collection I compare them. I don’t have any original MOTU figures but collect Origins so seeing a video that compares them is great, I love seeing how close they are to each other 💪🏼

Great look at these toys. I never had any of the OG MOTU but the Origins are great toys. My nephews love them
Thx for watching 🙏☺️ Origins are great for old and new fans of the Motu universe.
Brilliant video guys!! Have never actually held an Origins figure so great to see the comparisons 👍Vintage castle is hard to beat! Nice one Chris & Scuba! Loved the special effects 🤘
Cheers Dave 🙏☺️👍 always fun to try a bit of movie magic ✨

Awesome watch boys 👏 👏👏
Thanks so much. Origins can be a great way to get into Motu (again) and mixes great with vintage Motu.
Well done gents! Haha i see Chuck Norris made a cameo
We had a couple of cameo's 😁👍 Thanks so much 🙏
I love both lines so much & you guy's rock!!🎶🙃 Awesome start to ICC! Cheers👍🏻🍻
Cheers🙏☺️
Have been considering collecting the vintage for awhile , but that origins look so good I think I’d go there instead.

Great video guys!
Thanks so much 👍
I really enjoyed this video. Great collaboration, awesome content. Vintage MotU and Origins are an awesome combination.
Thank you kindly 😉👍
Love the intro Chris. Awesome 😊
Cool comparisons. Thanks for sharing buddy
Cheers👍😉

Thanks for watching 👍 We love Motu at Chasing 80s Toys ✨👍
I wish I could get into it, I just can't do another line, but the new ones look so good.
I totally get that. Thx for watching 🙏👍

One of my favourite videos from Iconicon! Back for a re-watch 😎
Cheers mate. Appreciated ☺️🙏👍
I am torn as well, but my adult self says Origins, but my inner child says VINTAGE!!!!! Lol!
Same with us really. They are both that good.
@@Chasing80sToys exactly! Great video comparison!
I’ve been repainting the heads of my origons figures(the lines biggest downside imo) I’ve made them look fantastic!
New to the channel, awesome!! Cool that the European comics were multilingual. Getting the origins has been the closest thing to being a kid again❤️great video👍🏽
A big welcome to the channel and so true for me too with Origins turning back the clock.
Ya, mixing and matching is the real winner here.
What an amazing comparison. Don't know what I like better, the old or the new. I know the shark would get me one day🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
Cheers mate. In that case just like both like us😉👍
Well Done! Top Shelf!
Thanks so much 👍

Cheers mate🙏☺️ Origins Just keeps on giving. Enjoy Iconicon 2022 👍
We love you guys!!!
Cool video and great Mattel MOTU shown!
Thanks 👍
Ahhh vintage he-man was my 1st motu figure. Wish I can relive that instance when I first lay my eyes on he-man
Thats awesome. That was also the first figure I got back in the 80's.
Great video. I’m really enjoying the Origins line. It makes these cool figures vintage style accessible to everyone. I’ve picked up a few 80’s figures at garage sale and while out thrifting.

Awesome.
Thanks☺️👍
Immensely enjoyable, well done lads. ☠
Thanks ☺️👍
Nice ! I did the same with my havoc staff!
Awesome
As a die-hard MOTU fan, I gotta say that I love both vintage & origins.❤
Agreed. They really compliment each other.

@@Chasing80sToys Thanks for the info. Really helpful to know. I guess I ll wait then.

Nice video!
I think he meant halberd (sp?). Re scareglow’s weapon.
Thanks for tuning in👍
Leuk man! Gaaf, ik ben ook pas weer begonnen met sparen.
Tof👍👍👍en thx voor het kijken 😉👍
Nice Video 👍🥰.Greetings from Germany.

Your on to something with the plastic indeed. Thanks for watching.
Hey, you're not Shanieology! (Kidding. Nice introduction, though.)

My vintage heman won't hold his axe it slips out of hand. I'm not sure why..

Wasn't it 82?
Far as I know the first figures where officially released in 82.
