    Emily Hartwood, a genuinely empowered, genuinely independent, genuinely modern woman in all her 1920s Flapper greatness. She is a lot cooler than all of the pathetic loathsome masandrist Mary Sues that pollute almost every single audiovisual production now-a-days. This also shows how older games were cooler too...

      She did it due to a familial bond with her uncle as well as a duty to rid the world from an evil being that wants ill will onto the earth.
      Pretenders like you mentioned only want greed, glory to their name and are self absorbed, almost..no, basically borderline crossing the line to villainy instead. How is that desirable? Can anyone explain to me how we got here now?

    This is the first I learned that the De vermis Mysteriis could be read without instant death. Though the given hints in other readings should have clued me in.

      Yeah, I didn't know about that either, I was inattentive like many people and was only able to get through the library by watching walkthroughs from other players, before that I had died about 5-6 times =)

      The game is from 1992, where can the logic come from? But at that time every developer put a part of himself into games and such things were not noticed, because the game was just a pleasure to play.

      I wonder how she can run in high heels. But let me put it this way: If video games were like life, they wouldn't be fun!

      @@GoodGamesLab is it the same gameplay or are there any differences depending on who you play as?

    • @GoodGamesLab

      I'm so sorry, for not being able to answer right away, for some reason the RUclips notification about your comment did not come.
      And, to answer your question, the scenarios are practically the same except for a few details, namely:
      When you find yourself in a room where a silhouette of a man is sitting near the fireplace, Edward and Emily comment differently on the photo on the table, also most of the enemies Edward can be defeated in hand-to-hand combat, while for Emily you will have to use all firearms, since Emily has very short blows and they do not always reach the enemies, that’s all differences.

      @bucky5869 3 месяца назад +1

      @GoodGamesLab Emily reportedly has a slightly faster run speed. I never noticed it playing. Aside from the intro dialog and the afformentioned text when looking at the photograph in the room with the ghost at the fireplace, there is no differences. It would have been neat to have some little tidbits not critical to the game completion that would have been only accessible to one or the other to make for a little more unique gameplay experience between the two but this stuff was already cutting edge and pushed the limits in 1992.

    54:27 "living in the region of Arkham."
    some ppl from DC Comics mustve played this game back in the day. where else did "Arkham Asylum" come from?

    • @GoodGamesLab
      @GoodGamesLab  6 месяцев назад

      you have incredible concentration, I wouldn't have even noticed, but this game came out long before the Arkham Collection, so definitely not, although there were comic books that mentioned the hospital back then, so it could be.
