today i had a wonderful experience and would like to share with you. I am english teacher in a public school from Brazil. I put "i am the rain" to play in classroom, and i gave the lyric without some words. They needed to find the missing word, listening the music. I was afraid that they couldn't like, but, indeed, they loved. I'm so fucking happy! I put the song to play in 2 different classes with twenty students each, both paid attention and tried to complete the lyric. At the end of the lesson everybody was singing, not in the perfect english, but in a country that funk music (not james brown) and others genres that sings always the same hit and just chorus, no verses, just the same phrase repeated thousand times, show to those young something different, better, to see they love it, this make me think that i was not wrong to follow this hard way, that is education. Thank you!
