The Allay would also be useful for Tunnel Bores since they can automatically go out and collect any valuable ores by themselves.
AH! you beat me to it! I was just about to say that lol
@@dragonman101 The only problem is figuring out how to avoid killing them with the tnt
@@devinnall2284 repeatedly dispense the item they want to pick up in the back of the machine? Although if that was done the Allay would have no time to fly to the front to collect ores
not getting them blown up would be a challenge! I love this idea
@@devinnall2284 Ya, I was coming to that realization myself. However, I think you would still need the player present and interacting with the bore. You could just have the player sit in a minecart, being pulled by a honey block or something.
Then, you could have some sort of trap system set up for the Allays. E.g. push note blocks along with the bore, sound them off at specific intervals, have the Allays path find to them, crossing some string which an observer will detect and then close a fence gate or something. So every time the player, sitting in the mine cart, presses a button (or note block or something), the bore will fire. Then the Allays are released, the player watches them collect and then sounds the Allay-catching noteblocks, the Allay then gets trapped, and the player activates the bore again.
Not the most ideal, but at least the player doesn't need to run infront of the bore every time. And the bore could be dispensing water behind it so there's no need to mob-proof from behind. All the player would need is a moving ceiling to prevent dropping creepers.
I am assuming the allays do not get attacked by mobs naturally.
Having built a crystal farm, the Allays certainly make the process much more simple and entertaining.
I think the addition of Allays to farms designs with loss is also a great use for them. They can make any farm loss-less. If you use them in tandem with other methods of item transportation, you can ensure all items get collected.
Allays can also be used in Nether farms to completely remove the need for any complicated piston and slime system.
Didn't even think about that, but u r absolutely right. A glass tube for the allays secures all the items to be picked up, and they won't wander away.
Me and a friend tried using an Allay in the nether. It didn't do anything at all when given a block and didn't follow us properly.
@@LeviathanGames14 are there any blocks on the ground and who gave it to him and when was this
@@timohara7717 Turns out Mob Griefing affects allays, Imo it's kinda stupid that a mob can be made entirely useless because of a small change in gamerules.
Bringing an Alley with you to the Hell dimension is just not right man.
I'm really excited about the allay. I don't enjoy building large automated farms. I do a lot of manual harvesting of stuff, but I'm always having to go back and pick up the bits I missed. Setting up a collection point near my farms and just letting them pick things up sounds amazing to me.
I mean, they can be used in farms that are already common in the game as well, it's more practical and needs less space to have one allay other than having a lot of hoppers or water streams. And it is less laggy as well.
@darknightoftroy I am not sure about being less laggy than water because of entity but it certainly will be less laggy and cheaper than hoppers system for sure
I plan to use them on my exploration. Sometimes when mining on an edge, its easy for the item to just fall off, and then I would have to go manually down into the ravine/cave. Allays can cut down that work by reaching that item!
Would love to see this experiment with only one Allay! Would that be sufficient for harvesting a geode? I can't imagine having an army of 5 or 6 in survival. I mean, some people will, but I definitely won't lol
Lucky for you, they spawn in groups locked up in illager structures so you’ll get about 3 at a time
@@hyperleet4454 but what if he wants to use the other Allays for something else?
You probably will. Considering you can have four spawn in a single jail cell, they're really OP easy to amass.
Look for a Kartograph in a village! He can give you a woodexploremap with you can find a manson easily. I found like 10 in one mansion.
You can duplicate them with an amethyst shard so you could have an army of allays quite easily
This might be a video about the Allay, but Xisuma's sneakily showing off some new behavior in another passive mob. Cow stomps Xisuma into the dirt at 2:32 so hard that it knocks him into spectator mode. Will cows become hostile mobs in 1.19?
Evil pigs aka hoglins are bad enough to deal with, now we've got illager cows???
It is the cows revenge after years of begin hunted
Food no more
Revenge of the cows
I actually tried using dolphins for item collection in an amethyst farm once, but the issue is that dolphins really like to kill themselves because if they stay in water for too long, they drown, and if they stay out of water for too long, they also drown. So basically dolphins are very hard to use in general unless you immobilise them completely. It seems like the Allay works much better in this case.
I think allays would also be great at picking up samplings in tree farms!
this is very interesting, it's really changed my perspective on the allays usefulness
You can make the amethyst farm much more simple if you use only one piston per budding amethyst. Use a cross made of slime blocks with blocks sticking out in from each of the cross's ,,arms'' . The piston then pushes the whole thing over the budding block, basically incasing it between the four sticking out blocks. That way you harvest 5/6 sides of a budding amethyst while only having to power one piston. Yes. It requires more space, but you don't have bring redstone signal to each end every amethyst cluster.
I was wondering myself: "Why doesn't he use slime blocks to use around 1 piston per budding amethyst? Is there something that escapes me?" XD
This! And then the bottom piston can be powered by a single observer, covering all 6 sides. There's a nice design by TimBnice showcasing it. This doesn't solve the problem of buds getting in the way of each other, but it makes this jigsaw puzzle easier.
@@Sithoid As productive as these farms are, it's easier to tear out half the budding blocks to make room for more efficient harvesting systems. Geodes are common enough that you can find several within a 128-block radius is you want to make a mega-productive farm out of all of them. A lot simpler too if you're not trying to save every single budding block.
Using skulk sensors potentially could make it easier to power all the pistons as they don't need direct connection lines, although that could also cause problems in itself.
Yeah, infinite loops would be common with that design.
@@wetnoodle5471 a hopper clock that controls a wool block would easily fix that
I see how this is nice, but I do think the best way to use it would be with piglin bartering. They give a lot of unstackable items and you can't make water stream sorters unless you portal the items to the overworld. Perfect for the allay!
I was hoping I could use them when strip mining or digging out a huge hole and that they would be able to pick up the items around me. Strip mining seems like a no go with how they function, but digging out a huge area seems perfect for them to just pick up any excess blocks you don’t want to go to waste.
they work with stripmining
This is what I'm thinking, too - set up a collection point in the middle of the area you want to clear, give 1-2 allays cobble/stone/deepslate, whatever you are going to be mining, and start digging. No more running back and forth to the chests to empty your inventory, just make sure you have enough chests to handle the resources and set up a new collection point every so often when you get out of range.
Seems like the simplest solution would be an in-game way to 'train' the allay to do what you want it to, similar to how we can manipulate cats and dogs by having them sit. Either have them wait at their note blocks/hoppers like they do in that playtesting video, or make it so there's a way to call them when you want them to work. This might be a good use for goat horns with different tunes...
If the allays can't be damaged by the owner then the allay should just overstep the owners actions, as if the allay wasn't there. Like being able to mine blocks even when the allay is in front of the owner, he's immune to his owner attacks, so what's the point on him still having a hitbox?
It would be awesome to use them on a skeleton farm to filter the bows to craft dispensers without crazy redstone, while still disposing of all the junk armor
How would they get the bows? Would the skeletons just land on the ground? How many Allay would you need for all the different items that Skeletons drop? I agree that it kinda sucks to manually go through and collect the useful items in a Skeleton Farm but I don't see how it'd be all that easier when you have to factor in collecting all of the Allay and I'm not seeing physically (or at least) practically how you'd even do it.
@@hinder10709 one could sort the arrows and bones, then have a hopper that locks and unlocks in a timer, drop all the junk on top and let the allay collect the bows, then the hopper unlocks and dumps everything in lava, probably some bows would still be destroyed but there is no need for high efficiency there anyways
@@SkyfighterZX Can a hopper drop items? I thought they can only transfer items to other containers like chests and barrels, etc.
I suppose you can use a dispenser. But how would you get only bows into the 9 slots it has without manually doing so? And at that point you're already moving them.
When you sort out the bones and arrows, the rest normally gets dropped into lava, instead you could drop them on top of a locked hopper, let the allay pick bows and then periodically unlock the hopper to suck and destroy everything that was not picked up, ofc this would work on a timer with 0 manual input, tge allay would sort the bows from the junk armor pieces
I still think one of the better uses of the allay is those farms where it's not practical to use water or hopper minecarts to collect drops. The best I can think of is a bamboo farm where a flying machine or pistons break the bamboo, but it could land on the remaining stalks. Also, it could be a replacement for hopper minecart selections, like in a villager-based wheat farm where villagers just leave the wheat on the ground
Allay could be a really valuable replacement for hopper minecarts if the allay are less laggy than a minecart.
I was worried about bamboo landing on stalks when I was building my flying machine based farm, but when analyzing it for improvement, I noticed that because of how fast bamboo grows, the items usually always fall off anyway.
Also farms in the nether, when you can't use water
@@Ravewood The general trend is that newer additions are less laggy than anything that's been in the game for a while, so its promising!
The allay is going to finally convince me to build more semi-automated farms. I'm not really a fan of being sophisticated with redstone or placing a million hoppers, so having something that can automatically pick everything up is a win in my book. I can see this creating a bunch of alternatives to farms that already exist, using less materials and simplifying the process.
i really enjoyed this video! great job!
Nice seeing the allay working out in a redstone farm, from everything youve shown so far they seemed to be leaning towards more aesthetic farms for that whimsical feel. Or farms were hyper efficiency isnt wanted or needed since those other collection systems exist already. Which I suppose isnt the best use with how rare it might be to find them in the early game before youve got enough iron for hoppers and such. Would be neat if there was a chance to find roaming allay or two in flower biomes as well, just incase you get really unlucky and don have a pillager outpost/woodland mansion nearby.
I think that to simplify geode harvesting, Mojang should cause nearby skulk shriekers to shatter the amethyst crystals when activated. Fixes the issue of how annoying it is to set up a farm for them. Combine that with the allay, and farming geodes will be so much easier!
Dude that is genious on so many levels
id love a cool animation with it and perhaps an advancement because its a uniqe and awsome concept
Yeah that sounds awesome! Currently the shrieker doesn’t even summon the warden or give you the darkness effect once you pick and place back down the block, so it would be cool to give it a use
Allays will be somewhat Rare to acquire in Survival, so having enough of them for your farms may be quite limited. Also, I believe Ilmango has a Geode Cluster farm that uses Flying Machines on 3-Axis that is a bit more standardized and doesn't rely so much on having to customize the Redstone and Pistons to each Cluster. I'm planning on hooking up all of the Geodes in my Spawn Chunks, and having a Rail go around to collect the Shards from a Water Collection system, and maybe have an Allay in each one to pick up any Shards that don't fall into the Water Collection.
All of the automated crystal farms I've seen try to maximize the number of budding blocks/faces harvested, which makes sense from an efficiency standpoint but also makes the farms way too complicated. Geodes are common enough that you could easily find several within a 128-block radius. Tear them down and thin out about half the budding amethyst blocks to make room for redstone to harvest the rest. Overall it would probably be more efficient in terms of time and space and resources used instead of trying to save every budding block the way X did in this video.
Getting them would be difficult but the thing is they can be duplicated so.
All you really need is one and you're set one amethyst crystal I believe, a jukebox, disc and you're good to go
Every 2 minutes I think you can repeat the process with the same allay and get another.
I love the prospect of using then for unstackable shorting. Like in a mob farm removing the bows/leather armor/stone sword out before sending the gold/iron and chain to a blast furnace to be smelted. Also can be used in a barter farm to short out books from the farm from the potions
They could also be used in Tunnel Bores to make mining completely automatic
How would that work, exactly? Would the mob farm just be set up so items just drop on the floor? How would it be set up so the Allay could collect anything?
@@hinder10709 You could make an hopper that would just accept the items you want while the ones you don't just sit up top waiting for the allay
@@hinder10709 Allays can pick items out of water stream, you could just make a short retention area where the stream goes through a series of hairpins that is accessible to an allay array, so that they have time to remove the unwanted items
ruclips.net/video/s4Wofop-LgI/видео.html. Check out silent whisper, 3 weeks ago he made a tutorial on the first beta. If the overall working of the aloy stays same it could be amazing. Depending on how fast the drops are for none stackable may want to put a chest at end of hopes chain to collect items and not back up shorter. But huge promise for Skelton grinders and raid farms to short totems
I guess they can also be used as a sort of 'despawn prevention' in situations where you get a lot of items in one go and overflow the hopper(s) and then have the allay pickup the items and throw them back onto the hopper until everything has been collected by the hopper. Making sure the 5 minute timer for slow, burst systems isn't a factor.
Or for underground quaries that leaves a water stream to a sorting system. Have the Allay trow the items into the waterstream, while you press the TNT button from time to time. Might need to find a way to make sure they're not in the blast radius on that one, but I'm sure someone will figure that one out.
Ngl, I loved this video. You guys should do more bedrock redstone, it's absolutely different to Java redstone, and we bedrockies sorely lack many redstone geniuses like you and DocM
I highly recommend silentwhisperer for bedrock redstone
we have a few they just don't get any attention :(
TheBowTieMan is like Mumbo but bedrock, go check him out
@@zed.lmaooo Big call mumbo is a god
Informative as always xsuima. Thanks keep up the good work
I think that the allay was always meant to be used like this, not as a replacement for water streams or hopper mine carts, but to be used when you can’t use the other methods. And you’ve demonstrated this wonderfully :D
Need the for my future raid farm. Just having chests of pre-sorted totems will be a thing of beauty.
I think as a whole these videos are AWESOME! The only problem is that there is SO much constantly changing about these mobs, especially since they do have a significant number of visible flaws. A lot of these videos are made a little earlier than they need to be, but I do still think it's pretty cool to see everything possible! And also very cool to see you doing things on bedrock, even with its shortcomings -- it shows how far the game has come towards being playable!
I love watching Xisuma discover Bedrock redstone and some of the extra touches we have, like redstone pointing into pistons automatically :)
It's also useful for sorting items in nether farms. Instead of massive hopper lines or potentially expensive slime launchers, you can use them to automatically filter out the nuggets and ingots for storage and burn everything else
Another good use is tunnel bores because it makes it where instead of having to run to get the items they allays can run ahead and gather the stuff and as they are depositing the tunnel bore can be activated again and repeat
I like how it makes sense that this is the most useful farm for them. They love music and the amethyst blocks themselves sound very musical. Kinda fitting ngl
I plan on using them to pick up scaffolding. Even though it’s cheap i’m the type of person who hates having items despawn so having an army of Allays pick up my mess gives me peace of mind
Yeah. Even if it's dirt, I can handle losing ANY items. So it pains me when Hermits just leave blocks to despawn when instamining.
I understand why. It's just hard to see.
The way I see it, training them and then waiting for them to pick up a few items takes way longer than the player just picking up those items. 🤣🙈
You can also use allays for free range chicken farms
I like the way you think! 🐓
Planning to use them on farms where I want to save only some nonstackable items. Like saving totems from raid farms
They may also be good in situations where you have to use a hopper Minecart to pick up items as the alley seems to be cheaper than most other collection methods.
Great video x:)
Perhaps they should add an allay nest or something that you can create that they will track toward and rest at if they don't have an item in their inventory. You should also be able to make them "sit" so they aren't always in the way.
This is so fun!!!! I love it!
for the geode farm, take a look at how ilmango does it, instead of using a bunch of separate pistons, you can use a single piston with a cross slime configuration on the face, with fence gates on the sides.
This is one of the best uses , but I imagine it being able to replace hopper minecarts in stuff like a bamboo farm , you can just let a couple of allays into the closed up farm and let them get all the bamboo
I guess the question then.
Is the allay actually more useful in that situation?
This is definitely great for a smaller amethyst farm, and I think one allay should suffice for collection. However, for larger amethyst farms, I think flying machine designs are still more efficient and much easier to setup. I think Allays still need to more tweaks and an additional mechanic or two to truly become useful, because right now they feel very gimmicky.
you don't have to remember coordinates in bedrock just enter the incomplete command and press up arrow key you will have that incomplete back
that works in java too
Really? I have to put in the first coords and then the second coords, then the block, because if you have /fill ~~~ ~~~ dirt, you're gonna end up with only one block of dirt.
Imagine he knows you can put redstone directly on top of an piston in each direction :D
I know, it was driving me crazy, he placed so many unnecessary blocks.
Bothered me a bit, too. But since he was comparing it to a Java-built farm, it does make some sense to stick close to Java redstone, even if Bedrock allows better space efficiency there.
You can probably place a button or a sign on the sides of budding amethysts that you can't harvest with pistons to prevent clusters from growing on that side.
That would help keep it more open to allow the allays to fly through, since you wouldn't have permanent amethyst clusters blocking their path.
Maybe they are useful at sorting non stackable items like totems of undying in raid farms
Also they would be useful in farms that require large amounts of hoppers for just a few drops, such as sapling collection in an automatic tree farm.
I wonder if, along with the Allays, the sculk sensor's wireless redstone will make powering the pistons in an amethyst farm a lot easier as well?
I think this is a fantastic use of the Allay and you would really only need 2 or so for a farm that size!
You could prevent the possible piston hurting the allay problem by having a distraction dropper that spits out the shards in a corner to draw the allay out of the machine right before it activates. Then just have hopper line going from collection to storage pass over the distraction dropper to refill it.
Something great is that if the hoppers do fill up, the allays will keep cycling the items between each other and they won't just sit on top of the hoppers until they despawn
I wonder if spacing out the hoppers would avoid the 'juggling' problem, it looks like most of the crystals find their way in eventually either way though.
Nice thumbnail x!
Could also use skulk sensors for wireless redstone when the update comes in.
A couple of questions,
1. How do alleys interact with their designated item if the item/s have fallen under water
2. How well do Alley's path find around walls, such as a cave, as the item it needs to collect is on the opposite side of a wall to what it's drop off zone is.
And
3. Can you think of any collection systems that you could use with the Alley's picking up and moving boats/minecarts, now that hopper minecarts, and the like, will now stay as the one item.
I could answer the first 2
1: allays can fly underwater
2: allays have perfect pathfinding. They've been tested with a maze and they will always find the most direct and fastest route to their destination.
@@MrSirSquishy they can fly underwater? I thought they would only ever float above the water.
How far would they travel, just interested at this point, would they travel 100 or 1000 blocks?
@@havak9831 idk, they *are* still in development.
@@MrSirSquishy How do Allays have "perfect pathfinding" but every other mob is terrible?
@@_BangDroid_ they're programed differently. If you search up "Allay maze" it'll show you what I mean. They allay calculates the most efficient route to its destination, while most other mobs are less direct.
You could use skulk sensors paired with the noteblock, makind sound at regular intervals. So, all it's powered and you make sure that the allays are activated at the same time.
Only flaw i see is pistons will eventually end up killing all the Allays overtime. If some how they were inmune to sofocation this concept would be 100% reliable... or maybe if they were affected by a regen bacon... healing them with potions would be a solution but would complicate matters greatly.
Anyways. Great idea, great concept, great video.
I can't imagine needing more than one for a small size or compact farm. Think most spend their time catching what others are tossing.
This is great for sure. I think another great use will nether farms since you can’t use water in the nether
By far the best Allay use I've seen. Also by far the strangest farm I've ever seen. I love it
Amazing!
My perfect use is: golden swords.
I actually tested with my Goldfarm (slightly modded gnembon design). Needs 4 allay to get all the swords.
I have them trapped in one block space and let the drops fall by them through a cobweb.
I know it's not that much extra gold but I liked the challenge.
Honestly I think the best thing the Allay will be for is item sorting, especially for mob farms that drop a lot of junk like gold farms. It functions as both a transport and sorter in one
Ooo. Yes. I like this. Sorting is one of those things that’s annoying and tedious for the player to do but would be easy for the allay to do.
I don’t see the point of using them for general collection though, which is how most people seem to be using them. There are faster ways, including just picking up the items yourself.
Since there is now a wireless red stone mechanic in terms of the skulk sensor, I imagine you can combine a note block making sounds to activate the skulk sensor to wirelessly activate the pistons
i dont know if its meant to but it seems the allay sets off the skulk sensor, so it moving can link it back to the note block
I really like this use for them, but as I was watching this I had an idea. Since the item collection part isn't an issue and the redstone part is could you use sculk sensors to activate pistons and not have a redstone mess? I'm curious to know if this would be easier. I might have to test it myself.
I love the allay and can't wait to see all the clever ways people use them. Honestly, I'll probably just want a couple to help when mining large areas, picking up extra cobble and the like -- but watching what other people come up with is amazing.
(Watching Java players get surprised by the nightmare of non-logic that is Bedrock redstone is also always fun. XD So glad I swapped over)
Right now the Allay seems to be useful for collecting materials that get stuck in inconvenient places such as with the amethyst farm you showed, or when mining up high as the materials don't always land in your inventory that way.
xisuma is a genius when it comes to minecraft mechanics
Looks like mojang is FINALLY going to create a genuinely useful mob (well skulker sensors have potential to be useful but they have produced so many worthless mobs the last few updates). I have to wonder what their lag levels vs traditional methods will be in industrial scale farms. I am certainly looking forward to them, though I wish mojang would concentrate on finishing current updates before moving on to next updates... Lately it seems they are so busy trying to build hype for upcoming updates that they are failing to complete current releases, or releasing current releases with so many bugs that they have to put out half a dozen patches to fix things.
I still think "Allay in a bottle" would be an awesome addition!!!
don't forget, there's wireless redstone now too! you don't need to wire each piston individually. just connect each one to a skulk and trip them all with a sound
I think it’d be nice if when they have no block, they’d go around picking up EVERYTHING, that way you could just have 1 allay to pick up all the bits and blocks you miss. Or it could take everything to a chest that then gets sorted out.
Mumbo has definitely shown how different redstone is on bedrock and java when it comes to the way it connects and timings and things, and I was more listening than watching but it sounded like you came across some of those differences in this video.
Also, unrelated; you are adorable, Xisuna. Keep being you.
I've seen an amethyst farm that uses 3 flying machines for all 3 axis', but this allay design is very impressive
Could you do a testing comparison video for how much lag allays cause vs hopper arrays and water streams? And how many allays are equal to how many hoppers in terms of lag caused. You can even compare to the composter on top of a hopper trick and other lag reducing options.
If they introduce the ability for the Allay to replace crops, they'll suddenly be my best friend. Having them aim for hoppers would be a nice addition, as well. Just a couple if-then statements would be fantastic. If it is a crop "seed" (including potatoes and carrots), and there is empty tilled soil nearby, plant crop, if not, drop it in the hopper.
I think to minimize the allay getting in your way when you're trying to mine a huge chunk of sand is to move away from where you've dug since the allay is trying to go there to pick up stuff
We have now learned how to make allays juggle, this is great
If we could assign individual note blocks for each Allay, I think it would make for a new and interesting innovation for storage tech.
i too think the allay will make the farm better, and sculk sensors too, for connecting pistons wirelessly to cut off some of the redstone lines.
The amethyst farm that ilmango made a video seems like a really creative solution!
Yeah definitely worth it for an amethyst shard farm.
Can be automated with a redstone clock, so yeah that's amazing.
I love the aesthetic of allays tossing items around, I feel I would purposely build dispensors just for them to simulate a working environment of passing items all around, or even just a variety of sports games. If only I could assign them to individual note blocks and paint them with team colors.
you should make a version of this that uses skulk to semi-wirelessly power the pistons instead of a big line of redstone going throughout it
This would probably be a good use of the skulk sensor and wireless redstone, then you can get rid of the clunky redstone wires and observers
Having an alley hang out near a bamboo or sugar cane farm is probably smart too, catch what gets.missed when the pistons go off
A sugarcane farm is easily lossless
Another good use for allays is to collect all the guardian drops around an ocean monument. Allays don't dive underwater but the drops float to the surface where they can snatch them up very efficiently.
They're playing basketball! That's so cute
5:00 actually you did it 300x higher, the default rts in bedrock is one instead of 3
1:50 exactly, the new one should stay and dance in place like in the trailer, they might've forgot that it supposed to dance
I feel like some people (if they have the time to do this) would use the allay in a raid farm to filter out the totems of undying, but other than that I’d probably use the allay when I’m mining the big spruce trees for the drops
The best way of making an amethyst farm:
First, you don't want to waste any time and immediately turn every geode into a farm. Don't try to harvest every block (yet).
When you are finished with this and you want more efficient farms, you want to use long piston extenders, using honey separation (Cubehamster recently made a video about this concept).
This way, you can break most of the amethyst, while still having plenty of space left.
Here, you have to be smart and make your own design.
This way, you almost always get every block in an easy way!
Tbh it would be far more useful for me if I could have it follow me around (maybe even sit on my shoulder like a parrot lol) and fetch items out of my reach.
For example, let’s say I shoot down a ghast that drops its loot 60-80 blocks below on a netherrack island in the middle of a lava lake. I’d like to be able to send my allay out to pick up the gunpowder, the ghast tear, _and_ the experience orbs and bring them back to me in one trip - no note blocks, no priming it with items.
Nice thumbnail!
Me: aw these guys are cute I wish I could tame them
Every youtuber: FREE SLAVES LETS GOOOO
Could u not get the allay to hold a shulker full of items for you? Like a caddy in golf?
I think there needs to be something that the Alley tries to move close to when it's doing nothing.
For instance, perhaps a flower, or some sort of craft-able incense. where the Alley, after obtaining and dispensing the Amethyst, would go and idle around.
The constant and inconsistent flying around is very annoying and needs workarounds.
Although this farm is amazing and by far one of the best uses for the Alley, it's full potential was blocked by the Alley's AI in general.
I guess if you have skulk sensors it will make it easier to power the pistons
