My parents backyard faced Airline hwy where years ago the Kansas city Southern mainline into New Orleans was located! I'm about to be 60 years old in a few days so i used to see the old GP locomotives and the U boats. Many of night as a child i got woke up by the train horns blowing at Clearview and Airline hwy when people at the red light would stop on the tracks! After 18 wheelers getting smashed 2 to 3 times a week Jefferson Parish forced Kansas city Southern to remove the tracks. I remember seeing the last of the F units running Amtrak on those tracks! I had many nightmares as a child of trains about to run through my house! The crazy thing is when they were removed i actually had problems sleeping because I missed the sounds of the train engines! The old Kansas city yard up Airline at the Metairie and New Orleans border is still there but i wonder who owns the yard now? Some of the old Kansas city GP's were purchased by New Orleans belt Railroad and are still in service with a different paint scheme and most of them have been rebuilt and they sound like brand new when pulling loads especially when crossing the Huey P Long bridge! You usually see 3 GP's either the GP30's or the 35's teaming together to get the loads across the Huey P Long bridge! I have one short view that i took with them teamed together going through the Delta Petroleum yard heading into the old Kansas city Southern yard if you want to check it out! Thanks for the video

Awesome to see KCS working in the 90s! Do you have any KCS footage from the 70s?
The last shot is at Vicksburg, MS eastbound.
