Koshi Garuma --> Kesa Gatame has, I believe, won me every actual fight of my adult life... Thanks to Mr. Tucker, my HS biology teacher and first Judo instructor, for teaching me both of them.
We LOVE this move in Sumo! One of the main Sumo strategies is Morozashi, or double underhooks to a body lock, and it's tough to get out of. But this throw gives us an out if applied correctly and with a lot of force.
thx you so much Sensei this is so precious from your lesson i start to understand than i need to get into a position close , before starting to work on anything it's time to create Judo no gi and to reunify Judo and BJJ
I receied my blue belt in Nippon Kempo in 2002. Sadly my Instructor moved away. You can grapple in Nippon Kempo. I used to compete in NK in the late 90s. NK is a great art. I recently got into Kudo which I also love. They are similar yet very different.
I have been highly effective achieving pins with this move in wrestling. I start with a cobra tie, make them step to the right, then step through, shoot the arm and hip throw. Lock up the headlock on landing and it's game over.
I train at an MMA gym, and everyone there is younger and stronger. I make them work for that double under, and hit them with this. A lot of times they pull back and I can turn it into a sag takedown. Either way we end up in Kesa Gatame, and I get a chance to catch my breath. Getting old sucks.
Trying this on my sister later i’ll let you know how it goes
Careful, if you have knackers
'What are you doing stepbro?'
@@josiasarcadia Bro, I try moves on my missus. Inevitably a crotch shot counters them all.
@@Matto_Harvocrotch shot is your best friend anyways, best move to pull out.
Thanks for teaching this sensei... my grandma never stood a chance.
Wait, I know you.
"you gotta drill this a few times" - guy who has probably spent millions of hours drilling.
