It makes sense to cut out the foot ring before applying the wooden rib. I made a bowl this morning and I had some questions, but you answered them all! :) So very cool to learn from you, thank you again! 🙋🏻♀️
too bad we don't have National Treasures in the US, because you are one! Thank you so much for your videos, they (and the ribs I bought from you have helped me so much!
Hsin, another superb video. I especially liked your discussion of how you smooth the “potters hump” near the bottom. The overhead camera shows it so well. Mark
Approx 6” x 11” diameter. Throwing the clay into the maximum size is never my 1st priority. I consider more the form and the shape since I have the best trimming tools to remove the excess clay easily 😊

That's one beautiful bowl Hsin-chuen, inspirational.
Thank you for this. Especially your instruction on not to slice our fingers on the metal rib. I only did that ONCE.
you are welcome!

You make it look so easy! But it takes years of experience to make it look like that. Thank you for your knowledge and expertise.

Thanks so much, solved an issue I was having!
what is the blue cloth / plastic you use to smoothen the rim ??
It’s call absorber cloth. I just cut a small piece off the big sheet. You can also use that as a bat gripper.
What are the approximate dimensions?
