Hey folks, the needle is a DaHo rigging needle. They are made in different sizes to accommodate different line thicknesses. My guess is this is the DAHN20060 for 150-200# mono. I would also recommend whip finishing the connection where the backing meets your fly line vs super glue using waxed rigging floss or 20# braid.

This is great it can fix a new broken or damage part of a fly line too?
just glue , no serving at the splice end? and in the loop you leave tag end out, normally tag end of loop is buried in the braid and you dont need glue there at all...
Brilliant backing, love the knot and loop less solution, would bee great if the same hollow solution could be applied to a running line, I suppose a could use a feet or two as interlink between shooting head and backing, so I don't need a loop between them?
