Zayn, Niall, Louis managed to go in different directions in music genres. We all know Harry is gonna pick Rock and POP. Liam is a fan of R&B, just like Zayn. Lets see how he manages to not get compared to him.

Yeah I actually have this feeling that Liam is going to knock it out of the park with his album. So much potential there.
He had the 2nd best vocals next to Zayn out of the group. So he will be taken seriously by music critics hopefully. No offense to Louis and Niall, they're doing great with their debut singles.

I don't know. I kind of think he will straddle the pop/rock line, but 1D isn't broken up either, so assuming they come back together sometime in the not-too-distant future, he would be going back to pop even if his solo album feels more rock.
Was never his fan but his bravery made me emotional...I don't know if I would be able to do what he did and what he felt when he sang on that stage knowing that his mum passed away. Louis you are a very brave brave lad. I wish you more success to come. This song fucks and I love the new direction of your music :)

FlinnHasslich it's actually all about taste. an individual decides if the artist is a good singer. it doesn't matter if an artist has a wider vocal range. they may not be able to even hold a note, when another artist with a smaller vocal range can hold beautiful notes. it's all about taste
I agree. His voice has an uniqueness. It's different and that's what makes it stand out. I'm not a fan of 1D songs (not much into pop) but his voice made me listen to them.
FlinnHasslich I meant that he isn't the best singer, his voice is not as powerful as other One Direction singers for example, yet it still delivers a very warm tone, his voice is raspy, soft and calm, that's why I think he is a very good singer :D So saying shortly- He may not be the best but he's still great thanks to his timbre :)

i doubt it because the song must have been written and recorded long ago and she just passed away. i don't think his mum would have used his song's lyrics to say goodbye :/ anyway he would have been hurt on that stage after that,especially with such lyrics,it wasn't just any edm song,it actually has deep lyrics that relate to what he's been going true,so that's even worse :( poor louis
***** maybe he knew in the last weeks that it was terminal but i don't think and we can't possibly know what conversations they had and if he used her words as lyrics, besides, in situations like these, the last thing you're thinking is to remember every word to write a song or just accept it's not going to be okay again and lose hope, trust me,i've been through something similar recently. besides,he's gonna have to sing this for the rest of his life,or however long he stays a singer, and putting something so close to a sensitive spot in his heart will make it difficult every time he sings it and that's not gonna help him perform well if he can't stop thinking of her and their goodbyes, it's an awful feeling and it truly doesn't fade with time so i can't imagine having to sing a song about my mom and her last words and being ok with it,it wouldn't let you heal one bit to always dig up the wound :/ it would be nice if he ever gave an interview and talked about the song and the inspiration,maybe we'll know more later, for now there's not much info about it,the writers,etc.

But Louis.. he went out there a few days after his loving, proud mother passed away & he kept it all together while pursuing her dying wish. He went out there & performed while he was hurting & broken all to make beloved Johannah proud. All he ever wanted to do was make her proud & he continues to do it. Crying as I type this, it's hard cause this guy right here means so much to me & just imagining him hurt.. hurts. Louis.. she caught that kiss you blew up to her in the heavens, I promise. Louis Tomlinson is the latest member of One Direction to release a single on his own, but that doesn't mean the band is far from his mind.
The "Just Hold On" crooner appeared on the Today show Friday morning and performed his new single with Steve Aoki. Before hitting the stage, however, Louis weighed in on when 1D could get back together.
"There's time for that," Louis told Natalie Morales and Matt Lauer. "Nobody knows when. I think we're enjoying a bit of time to ourselves, exploring our own solo things."
Louis' appearance on the NBC morning show comes only a few weeks after his mother tragically passed away after a battle with cancer. Despite being in mourning, Louis has continued with his appearances with his mom's blessing.
"But it was my mum who said to me that I've just got to keep going," Louis shared on the SiriusXM satellite radio show Hits 1 in Hollywood. "She told me very sternly that she wanted me to."
Just days later Louis performed his single on The X Factor. "It was tough, but I felt like it was nice for me to almost have a little send off for her," he said.
Louis also has been focusing on his son, Freddie, who just turned one. He and ex Briana Jungwirth celebrated their son's birthday with an intimate party. "Special first birthday :)," Jungwirth wrote.
"Had a special day today with my birthday boy. Thanks for all the lovely messages!" Tomlinson tweeted.

Now in no way am I taking anything away from how awesome this song is and the message it conveys....but people don't give enough credit to the producer of a track...everyone focused on the singer forgetting that the producer makes the track what it is...I know Louis wrote it but Steve Aoki added to the emotion of the song and made it that much more amazing
