Yes! I did a musically of like just my kitten when he was like 2 months old I think? He was so cute. I had to take him to the vet since like he got somehow cut and basically he died. They haven't put out a pop-rock album since Hands All Over which was around 2011 - 5 years ago. (And even that wasn't like the first 2 records; it was more soul than rock). I don't understand why people continue to be surprised by their sound. SAJ came out in 2001. Obviously, if they plan to be successful, they can't keep making the same record over and over again. I absolutely love 2000s style music, and that's why I fell in love with this band, but they have to adapt to be successful. To me they've found a good sound that sounds like them but can still fit on the radio. But we can't keep expecting She Will Be Loved, This Love, Sunday Morning-type tracks.
Sarah Holland I'm not saying I'm against them experementing and all that, as a fan you would actually want to hear the genre that they use to play. Doesn't mean I said that it's not their usual pop rock, doesn't mean I'm expecting them to make music just like their past greatest hits in 2001. I'm saying that it's new and cool, but at the same time I also want them to make music the same genre as before even though just for once.
I get that, and I agree. It would be nice for them to put out a SAJ-sounding track, but I still love they new music they put out. But for me personally, being a fan doesn't mean just wanting to hear one genre over and over again and grunting and complaining that they've changed too much, it means enjoying and respecting what they are putting out. Sure, Songs About Jane was probably my favorite album, but I don't want to just hear them play the same stuff over again. That's just my take. I like that they try new things, I think it's what has kept them successful for 15+ years. But sure, they have lost a lot of fans along the way who only wanted the first album's sound. It just depends, but to me this type of style suits them, just in modern-day instead of in 2001.

To all the haters, that don't like this song, let me explain it to you: Music changes, a long time ago, we didn't have electronic music, but way before that we didn't have rock or punk or metal or whatever. Back then, we only had our voice. Now listen, we got ourselves music instruments like the Piano the guitar and the drumkit, it was a revolution in the music industry, but, not everyone liked it. Nowadays most people listen to music that contains musical instruments or electronic made music. Electronic Dance Music is a new way to create music, you could say it all sounds the same, but if you do, please look at yourself, if you were to make music, electronic or with instruments, how much difference are you able to make? You're using the same thing as other musicians, ofcourse it has some things that sound the same. However, if you'd say EDM music is all the same, you really need to get your facts right. Ever since we are able to make sounds at any frequency the human kind is able to hear, by using a computer, EDM makes the biggest difference.. Maroon 5 has made beautiful music before, think about '' She will be loved '', totally different than song like 'Animals' or 'Sugar'. But than again, those songs are totally different than this one. If Maroon 5 would keep producing the same style over and over, you'd get bored, so get out your comfort zone, try new things, you'll probably just like it instead. Maroon 5 won't keep producing the same style over and over, because they would get bored either. What most of the people here are saying is that this song sounds too similar to others and a bit formulaic not that all "edm music" is the same. As a fan, this song is different (before they were so pop rock and not into now's genre) but I still like it.

They haven't put out a pop-rock album since Hands All Over which was around 2011 - 5 years ago. (And even that wasn't like the first 2 records; it was more soul than rock). I don't understand why people continue to be surprised by their sound. SAJ came out in 2001. Obviously, if they plan to be successful, they can't keep making the same record over and over again. I absolutely love 2000s style music, and that's why I fell in love with this band, but they have to adapt to be successful. To me they've found a good sound that sounds like them but can still fit on the radio. But we can't keep expecting She Will Be Loved, This Love, Sunday Morning-type tracks.

I get that, and I agree. It would be nice for them to put out a SAJ-sounding track, but I still love they new music they put out. But for me personally, being a fan doesn't mean just wanting to hear one genre over and over again and grunting and complaining that they've changed too much, it means enjoying and respecting what they are putting out. Sure, Songs About Jane was probably my favorite album, but I don't want to just hear them play the same stuff over again. That's just my take. I like that they try new things, I think it's what has kept them successful for 15+ years. But sure, they have lost a lot of fans along the way who only wanted the first album's sound. It just depends, but to me this type of style suits them, just in modern-day instead of in 2001.

Or maybe some people like me just find this song a bit dull, it doesn't bring anything new to the table. What most of the people here are saying is that this song sounds too similar to others and a bit formulaic not that all "edm music" is the same. To say their opinion isn't really valid because they don't understand that music is changing is a little patronising. When something is good whether it be in art, fashion or music it stands the test of time
I can't see anyone in a years time desperately wanting to listen to this song let alone in the next 10 or 20 years.

But electronic pop genre is absolute garbage, it sounds the same in every song and *all most* all of the lyrics are the same. At least they could have made a song that's not about a freaking romance
i like the song, but i do miss their old vibes, and there are even people who keep clinging to their own pop rock/punk tunes. Maroon 5 have recently left me wondered whether or not they are trying to get more mainstreamed and get more profits and keep up with what the teenagers like. I believe that not only me but others also feel the same way
