This is a project I have been working on for around a year and a half now, and this is close to the final product. However, before it is completely done I will need to touch up on the code and find an amputee to test it out. The overall price is a little under $100 for shipping to the US, it uses 2 servos (1 for the thumb and 1 for the other 4 fingers) and is controlled by a Myoware muscle sensor. I used some more powerful servos for added strength, but standard servos can also be used. The materials are:

I strongly support any improvements or modifications to the arm, if you have any I would love to check it out! You can E-mail me at grossrc46468@gmail.com also if you have any questions you can ask me.
All the code used in this particular video can be found at my partners GitHub page here: github.com/tt-anderson
Astonishing am short of words I don't even know what to say amazing mind blowing
I've tried many different types of joints to connect all the segments of the fingers, and you just skipped that part and used it as both a joint and a spring. Which seems like a pretty smart idea, but I think it would look and work better if you added something for positioning the fingers, so that they would stay exactly in line.
What I've found is that although they sometimes do get misaligned, they immediately get realigned when pulled shut. Then they open back up perfectly straight.
I applaude you for this project, you make me feel as confident as I´ve ever been about choosing my career, thank you very much.
One last thing haha I wasn´t able to find the codes, where are they?
How has the career gone? I'm considering something similar
Sir is there any other sensor that can be used instead of myoware?
I have no words ,to say A BIG "THANKS" to you thanks a lot a lot ,this will help me to reduce my disability!.
wonderful work!
thanks a lot sir, i was just searching this kind of project. Best wishes, love and respect from INDIA.
Did u get that?
aha, yes.. I can finally get the Johnny silver head dlc
You are so wonderful, it's a great way to learn the poor
did you put a vid of this up working from the myoware sensor attached to your arm?
Truly doing yeoman's work.
Huh?
Very nice job you can help the word
What muscles does it need to respond to and is there an arm unit of this ?
Fantastic, Which type of material is this
Can you provide a link for the magnets you use ? Or how can i find this type of magnets ?
Sir from where did u get hand and electric cell
fantastic! im a quadriplegic with little hand movment and im thinking something like this, but more of an exo arm would be great. can i get the arduino code for it
Yes, the Arduino code can be downloaded from my Thingiverse page, the link is in the description
perfect thanks !
@Crazymx51 enablingthefuture.org/e-nable-community-chapters/ check this page out maybe they can help you out
Ryan Gross awesome project and respect for what are you doing.
Hello I am Czech and I want to thank for this video because I have a deformed hand and I can not move my fingers, and this video inspires me to make my hand,
Otherwise, I think we will not have to buy a prosthesis on your hand or foot, just print it in a 3D printer :-))
Hey Kiby, were you able to create your own prosthesis? If you haven't solved your problem yet I would love to help you get a 3D printed prosthesis as part of a project I'm currently working on! Best of luck! :D
i have problems with my hand too.
I need the code used in this project
I need a bionic vine, how it is worth
I want both hands. so where can I find the designs?
Ryan you are great
How successful do you think this particular hand it at picking up objects. What would be the weight limit? Also, is there any way you can control each finger separately and not just all the fingers and then the thumb? Replies would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
This hand is very good at picking up objects with the opposable thumb, the weight limit is around 6 or 7 lbs. even though we haven't officially tested it yet. As for the control, each finger can be controlled individually except the ring and pinky finger which move together.
Thanks for the video 💗 where can I find the arm parts? What kind of shops?
It's all on my thingiverse page, the link to it is in the description
sir i love this project but were isarduino nano bord codes and how to apply
Using that Arduino nano screw shield was an awesome idea! What type of Arduino and Servo did you use? I have a similar project on my channel if you wanna check it out.
Thank you! I checked out your video and it's really cool, I got the arduino nano board at m.banggood.com/ATmega328P-Arduino-Compatible-Nano-V3-Improved-Version-No-Cable-pnew-959231.html
And the board fits in the screw sheild which can be found here
m.banggood.com/NANO-IO-Shield-Expansion-Board-For-Arduino-pnew-963967.html
You can get all the files and other material URLs at my Thingiverse page in the description, and I was also wondering if you go to MIT?
Ryan Gross no, haha I'm in highschool. Your project is very cool though! I love the use of Paracord in the fingers!
That awesome! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I'm in High School too and I'm hoping that this project can take me to ISEF
Frank wow
Can i use the emg muscle sensor kit instead of the MyoWare?
Can you help me with the circuit . What is that 3 lines which is connected to the grounds of the motors ?
Where did you get those little magnets?
This song is a vibe
Hi, I am making one using an arduino pro mini but I can't find the connexion diagram, from what i read in the sketch sensor is A3, servo finger 9, servo thumb 8. Correct ? The battery is on Raw and GND right ? Where do you power the sensor from the arduino? Thanks
Did you try watching the video? diagram is at 9:05
where i'm buying this robotic arm parts plz share the link
how long would the battery last? would an all day application last?
I am assuming a all day application should last, but there is a reason that the battery is recommended to be rechargable. An idea would be to charge the battery while you sleep, then attach it onto the arm in the morning.
Hey where i buying this hand part like thumb and finger plz Share details
How much is this video sped up and how long did it take you to assemble?
It took me about 2 hours to make the entire arm having all the pieces and tools present. The servos both go to pins 8 and 9 like you said and the battery power goes to VIN (+) and GND (-) and the muscle sensor goes to the 5V pin the GND pin and the A3.
Cool bro
This is awesome!!!I made same thing I posted it today, but less complicated....
Hi! I am currently building this hand for a family member. How can I find the code? The past links are not working.
Where I can buy this item
Can someone tell what kind of black thread or wire has been used
Please provide the code for this.
you impress me
I'm planning to do this as project in my college
Done or not?
@@salunkeakshay5971 I did it
Can you please details with me.
I'm also planning to do this for college project
@@salunkeakshay5971 sure
How strong is the grip of the prosthetic, can it hold a can of soda for example?
Although I've never formally tested the grip strength, it is surprisingly strong. More than strong enough to grip a soda can or water bottle for example.
I need a solidwork file you have a this file?
I dont feel exited listening to this song over the years , Nice job tough
What's the thickness of the fishing wire you're using?
around a 1mm thickness is what I use, but most fishing line will work if it's not that exact measurement
plz say cost of this
i need on solidworks i wanna see on real life
i wanna know that how did you made the parts of the hand
????????????????
They were made using 3D printing and designed using a software like CAD.
Please send me the link for the code
Sorry I am not understanding something. So when attached to the amputee how do they make it move??
thinking about making one and need to understand before I start
You need to flex the muscle to move the prosthesis.
So super super basic run down of this, if they didn’t have a hand, they would utilize a different muscle, like a bicep or a for arm muscle, and through the flex of the muscle, the muscle sensor will read and interpret that, thus causing the hand to clench/release depending on the code
what program used for desing ??
I used a CAD program called designspark mechanical to make this arm
thanks
Does normal servo such as MG995 works with it?
yes those work
If you can send me a link to the code used i would greatly appreciate it
file:///C:/Users/gross/OneDrive/Documents/Muscle%20Servo%20Code%20PDF.pdf
it so very interesting
please send me the codes i am unable to find them
plz send me the slow motion video
What is name electronic gadgets please tell me
How do you obtain the link?
Were I can purchase I am from India I lost 2 fingure of my left hand I want to buy please help me reply
Where i can buy this 3D printed Arm Only ?
You can print the arm from thingiverse, and if you don't have a 3D printer you can order the parts from a site that prints pieces and ships them to you like www.shapeways.com/
trop cool

Hola , como puedo conseguir una para mi hijo
Does this hand follow your own hand's movement?! Or what kind of sensor do you need to get for that ability for the hand to follow your own arm's movement?! Really curious and NEED as much as info possible!! Also any possible way to find the thumb of the humanoid hand?!
really new to engineering, so i'm really confused, thank you so much for the video.
the sensor is called the MyoWare Muscle sensor. you attach the sensor to any muscle on your body, and when the muscle is flexed, it outputs a signal.
Ty ty tysm for the 3d file 🥹🫶🫶🫶
the code is wrong pls somebody can help me. :c ??
Wow! Awesome Work! So inspiring. Can you pls share the whole code for this as file:///C:/Users/gross/OneDrive/Documents/Muscle%20Servo%20Code%20PDF.pdf link is not working even without spaces as its local to your computer I think, it will only open for you. Please if possible share a link to view the code so that beginners like me can go through it.
A little girl in our community recenly lost her arm in a farming accident. I'm giong to try to make things better. I've never done anything like this before. Let me know if you can help if needed.
Hello, I'm working on a project similar to yours. Is there any way we can talk privately to ask for your advice? Thank you in advance. Regards."
I need the code for Arduino
I'm willing to help you, please email me at grossrc46468@gmail.com
how much did it cost you?
In his description, it says less than $100, but I am making it myself and the total cost excluding the 3d printing/printer is $~65
can i get the arduino code for it?, i can't see the arduino code in your thingiverse page :(
This is the code I used
file:///C:/Users/gross/OneDrive/Documents/Muscle%20Servo%20Code%20PDF.pdf
Ryan Gross can you add me to the code
link isnt working for code

The updated version works much better
I no found arduino code in description...
Plz arduino code send plz
all the code can be found at my partners gifthub page here: github.com/tt-anderson
Can you help me in this project work
I'm having some trouble with the servos, the code apparently shows only two input (read 180 and 0) but these servos are 360° which means they rotate infenitely, how did you control the position??
Alright, I bought the wrong servos.
If you did the same shit as I did (to buy the 360° model), answer to this comment and I'll send you the code
@@thi_kaan Hello, I need the code, if you can share it, I will thank you, I will assemble this project soon
Maybe if you build small electrical impulses that send a tiny static shock up the amputee's body; you could use a 5$ ionizer ruclips.net/video/P5za9sa4-qk/видео.html

Hi this is awesome could you include the arduino code please.
file:///C:/Users/gross/OneDrive/Documents/Muscle%20Servo%20Code%20PDF.pdf
Hi Ryan Thanks a lot for your reply but this link doesn't work.
The link works, just make sure that when you copy it to your URL you do not copy any spaces before or after the link
file:///C:/Users/gross/OneDrive/Documents/Muscle%20Servo%20Code%20PDF.pdf
@@cristovaocacombe8161 heyy..can you please share the code if you were able to access the link?
how do you ie the nots on the back?
I just knotted it through the servo horn so it would not fall through when the servo pulled on it. There is no special knot that is required for it to work, as long as when it is pulled by the servo it pulls the fishing line enough to close the fingers
Ryan Gross how servo will work.. through sensors or electrodes on patients muscle?
I use a myoware muscle sensor which has electrodes that clip on, then the electrodes are placed over the muscle that is going to control the arm. I have a very basic setup right now where you simply put on the electrode and when you flex, the robotic arm closes.
thanks
i made one using recicled motors and a custom "wrist" piece, not suitable for prhostetics but good science fair
Please give me adress in this hands office
if , you can use it in robotic arms , I have a project that for the next 12/24/36 will need more than 300 pairs , if you can use it in robotic arms and you want to develop it , send me an initial proposal for 5 pairs
How much does it cost
The total cost is a little under $100
Thank you
how to purchase hand
If you would like to purchase the hand you can email me at grossrc46468@gmail.com for the details
how much it cost?
It costs $230 including shipping to anywhere in the world
I tried to email you but when i got to your gmail, it just sent you an invite, so could you help me from there?
I would try to email me once more and if it still doesn't work you can send me a private message through youtube, hope to hear from you soon
That sure is aggravating music.
Video is good enough, no need for the annoying music that is used in the every other video out there 🤨
From where you purchase the hand
They 3d Print it
